Made one today....Used Ideal 20ml syringes from Tractor Supply. Worked great at first. Let it sit for about 3 hours and now juice tastes like rubber really bad.
I made one yesterday with syringes from Tractor supply. It's working great so far. The only trouble with leaking is when I've filled it, but if I load from the bottom and draw out some of the air from the tank while I'm adding juice it did better. I haven't had any leaks except then.
i got the syringe's at a local store rual king there a online link Ideal Instruments 20cc Luer Slip Syringe 9273 (4 pack) America's Farm & Home Store
I have a question about the tank mods. I understand how they work, you put in a carto with a slit in it so it soaks up juice from the tank, but with normal usage of a carto, if you over fill with juice it will flood the carto, and get into the battery cap. So my question is why wouldn't the tank flood the cartomizer? Because there is more juice in the tank than a carto can hold.

Cool, if I make one I will have a rain predictor too. LOLThe hole you see in the tail end of a cartomizer goes all the way through, and is where the air draws in from the battery end. If you've ever ripped one apart, you'll see that around the coil is a layer of thicker wicking material. Then the polyfill around that is wound really tight on the inside and looser towards the outside. Thus, when overfilling one, even with a syringe from the bottom, it actually overflows first up and out of the polyfill, not straight into the air passage.
If the tank were to be pressurized, it would overflow similarly. Fill one with the top cap off and then press it on and it will overflow similarly due to the pressure.
As an aside, I imagine that the majority of the complaints about these leaking are due to temperature changes. Alsol, temperature aside, the typical fluctuation in air pressure is a range of almost a whole PSI. If it was nice out when you filled it, it might leak a little when it's about to rain.![]()
Does your tank mod ever flood??I agree. It's one of the great mysteries of life, LOL... I read about how it works a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot the specifics. I don't need to know. I'm just glad somebody figured it out, 'cuz I love these darn tanks.

I wonder if it would help any to wash it real good before you use the rubber pieces or will it keep tasting like rubber. Maybe others can answer this question.
I will probably need lessons also. I will try your vaping technique when I get one built in a couple of weeks, will be away for a little while, but I do want to build one. I do vape hard like sucking a malt thru a straw, well maybe not that hard but pretty strong. I know with a CE2 I sometimes vap hard enought to suck juice out of the coil and it gets in my mouth piece. So I'm going to have to change my vaping technique.I have not had any issues at all with my liquinators. They are working flawlessly, no flooding at all. I have not made a syringe tank mod yet because I am waiting for my 20ml syringes to get here. I got a bunch from ebay, so I'll have a lifetime supply. I also want to pif some. My local Tractor Supply Company had only 1 20ml syringe.
Now, my hubby was experiencing constant overwicking and flooding for the first few days with his tank. He was very frustrated watching his precious juice just dripping out. It turns out that he wasn't vaping properly, poor guy. He was dragging on it way too hard for too long. We had a little session on vaping technique, and he is doing well now. Slow and steady, no more overwicking and flooding.
