Is it okay to remove the rubber to refill? I notice that everyone wants to drill a hole for refilling, so there must be a reason for not removing the rubber thingie. I want to build one of these for the 306 atty, but am a little confused yet.

For me, it's just a matter of filling this way is easier.

There are two ways to refill a syringe tank, that I know of. Either 'work' a syringe twix the plunger seal and body or a filler port.

Removing the top plug for refilling will cause a massive leak due to the pressure applied to the joose in the tank when you replace the plug. See post #1031 for my reasoning for my placement of the filler plug.

Been following this thread for quite some time. Here's my small contribution. I don't have any syringes yet to try this. I have used this bits for woodworking and they drill a less ragged hole in wood than standard bits. They may work better for make a cleaner fill hole.

iwhen i top up through the side hole using a syringe and compressing the top rubber to cover up the hole. there is bound to have some juice leaking from below. anyone experience the same?

See post # 1031 & 1064. This is why I placed the filler port near the carto punched holes; pressure relief.

i did a tank mod too and drill a hole by the side using the top rubber to cover when finish topping up. when i top up through the side hole using a syringe and compressing the top rubber to cover up the hole. there is bound to have some juice leaking from below. anyone experience the same?

I *think* what keeps a tank from leaking is the difference in air pressure between the inside and outside of the tank. When you unseal the tank the slight vacuum inside the tank goes away and the tank leaks. When the pressure in the tank is equal to or higher than outside air pressure there's nothing keeping the juice inside the tank except the packing in the carto.

That is what I do now, thanks to your post. It allows you to fill the tank with liquid, below the hole in the carto, so all the air escapes thru the carto hole, and when you put the seal back on the tank the air escapes again. Thanks for the tip.

I dont get this, My fill hole is high up on the side of the tank and when I fill it, I just hold the tank sideways and fill. It never leaks anywhere.

Thats works too, but sometimes I get enough liquid in it and when I start to put the filler cap on it gets messy. If the filler hole is at the bottom and you turn it upside down and fill then put the filler cap on its just not as messy for me. LOL For your next question I have not used a boge 3ohm cart yet, but I will. I'm using the 1.7ohm Resurrector or a mega/longer DC S.S. carto. I don't know how many times I have refilled the tank but the carto in the tank has lasted me way longer that any carto I have use without the tank. And I mean alot longer, and I vape alot. A carto out of the tank maybe last me 2 days and inside the tank 10 days or maybe more. How long has you Boge lasted?

I have used DC's in the past, without a tank and I thought they used the liquid too fast.

I made my tanks a little over a month ago and I have noticed that I'm now getting a rubber taste. Anyone else that have been using them that long having the same trouble? I happened to have 4 syringes that I had not used yet, so I'm going to change them out when the juice is gone. Guess that maybe we'll have to change them out every month or so. Still a good deal as I love them.

I've been using only stainless cartos for my tanks. The mailman just came. I thought I'd stock up and get 3 $20 bundles of Boge 3.0 cartos from CCV, 15/pack, and I'd be set for a good long time. I opened the box, and they have the black wrapper. Apparently, I ordered the wrong items. I will not go through all of the trouble to remove the wrapper.

I have heard that someone punched them and used them in their tank recently, with no disturbance of the wrapper, but how can anyone be sure that no glue will leach out of the holes. Whadya think? Should I resell them, or try them in my tanks?

Im not sure about this. I think you should remove the wrappers and be safe, just in case. Dont want to loose you here.
