I've been cutting mine 1 1/4" for reg size, and 1 5/8" for the resurrectors. I've been using the reverse taryn spin to get the juice out. I'll try the syringe idea to see if I can get more juice out.

The only preference I have for the hole is that it go through far enough to see the filler. My juice is 60pg/40vg, so it's not super thick. I haven't had any trouble at all until I came across these bad cartos.

I don't have a answer for you on this one, I know some do wick better than others and hate it when you use a new one and it doesn't vape right. Aslo don't forget it you have a bad carto that has lots of juice in it, to pull the wicking material out and put in a syringe and push the plugger down and you will get all the juice back. I'm wondering how long you cut you syringes for the mods you built and what length others like if they would share with me. Also preference for the hole size to drill in the carto for the best wicking in the tube mod?

Interesting video...however, I prefer Tango's suction method! lol when I need to retrieve juice from dead cartomizers or tanks I just take a syringe and suck the juice out. A few days ago I had a bum cart, had to get my juice out, was my favorite juice and I didn't want to waste it. I took the syringe and stuck it in the stuffing and sucked it out. Works perfect, then either you can put it back in another cart or in the bottle. Simple!! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ld-has-echo-e-cartomizers-49.html#post4190138 Has various sizes of syringes.

I do this anytime I need to retrieve juice before cleaning or throwing out a carto.

The syringe method is a little messy but if you use tweezers it not bad. Just pull out the wadding and put the roll in the syringe and push the plunger down and you will get ALL the juice out, and you will know it, when you take the wadding out of the syringe and look how dry it is. With the caro's that have a wire running down from the top you will need to cut it before removing the wadding. Use tiny scissors or an x-acto knife.

Yes try the syringe and let me know what you think. It works very good for me. What SIZE hole do you put in your carto? And finally, It looks like you are way ahead of me now for getting the Ultra Member title, DANG smart GIRLS,LOL --I'm spending to much time building a tank, but making very good progress now and will share some good information when I have it working. THANKS for the sizes of the tanks you make.

For regular length cartos, 1 1/4". For XL lengths, 1 1/2".
THANKS Iffy, the one I have now I cut to 1 1/2" like yours for the DC Stainless Steel 510 carto and it does seem like a good length, my4jewels uses 1 5/8 and I'm sure that would be a good size too, the carto would not stick out as much with the 1 5/8" length and it would hold a little more juice. Now I just need to finish it and give it a test run.

I will try it next time I need to empty one. Hopefully, my cartos will be more cooperative than they have been. I just punch the holes deep enough to see the filler, probably about 1/16th". Really that's all you need.

Those holes been working beautifully for me on about 8 tanks, until the dreaded "bad Boge's" started. I got 3 in a row. All of these cartos were from the same order, too. I'm not sure if they were from the same box because I emptied the boxes into a bowl.

The only reason I have more posts than you is because I just can't keep my mouth shut, or, should I say, can't keep my fingers still. Will you share a drink with me for my 1000th post? :toast:

I ordered a bottom feeder to try it. I have to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I wouldn't want to go over 1 1/2" for my cartos. I've made two at 1 1/4" so far. Maybe I'll 'stretch' the next one...

Also thinking 'bout Dremelling three small slots (@ 120°) so that there's always hole available for wicking for when the tank gets low. Not sure yet...

Wow, you're up late tonight! I'll bet you don't want to put your new Buzz Pro down, huh?

Please let us know how 3 holes work out for you. Do you think it'll help these Boge cartos that are filled to tightly to wick better?

Yes (I'm a night owl) and yes (I'm a vaping night owl)!

I can only guess that there's not a whole lot to be done with tight fillers in some of the cartos. I know that the eMDCCs I really like have recently demonstrated a more dense filler which is somewhat annoying. On da other hand, too loose and the draw/vaper gets too light. Picky bunch, aren't we...

Since I'm a heavy vaper, I was just thinking that with the extra holes, maybe the carto would keep up easier and eliminate the issue of where the hole is located when the carto is mounted.

Since I have two syringe tubes, I'll try one carto with just a single slot and the other with a trio.

ETA: Up late? Pot... kettle...

My gripe with the dense filler is that it burns my juice. I'm pretty flexible about the draw, but I prefer a lighter draw to a stiffer one.

I would be honored to toast your 1000 posts, I DO like girls even if they are smart. It won't be long now, so what are we drinking for the toast?

Do let us know how it works out. Do you find it easier to slot them than drilling holes?

Well, I don't usually drink the hard stuff. I usually drink wine, by the 5L box, the cheap stuff, of course, not all at once. How about a glass of white zinfandel? I'll chill the glasses so they're ready.

Actually Franzia makes some passable box wines. Nothing to be ashamed of at all. I do like what a friend of mine said about them.

"They're as cheap as dirt and my wife can't tell how much I'm drinking."
