Mike, I say do what YOU feel is right. I can wait a few days (I am a Februarian) longer for something like this. My only question, have you tested it in this application and how hard is it going to be for you to work with? If you are that confident, then do it. If not, test it and use in March, I gotta Z-Atty-G coming in March, and would just add this to my order for my Feb Zen-mini.

This only appears to be sudden...

I've been exploring it for use on the Dragon PV... and yes, I'm confident in this material. The reason for the sudden shift is that I cannot work with this material. I lack the skills and tools to manipulate it cleanly... I had all but ruled it out as a solution on the PVs but a supplier I have been working with has contacted me and is willing to do all of the cuts in their factory and ship the tubes to me already to use.

The material itself is about 8x the price of pyrex in it's OEM form, which is still not awful. It can be expensive to have it cut and finished. I was able to come to an agreement by purchasing a large enough quantity that is can be done by them for what I feel is a reasonable price given the performance of the material.

I think this is an amazing solution, better than I could have hoped for.

So being a feb lister, I'd say that if Zen thinks its going to be better and all it costs is a delay, then my vote is: go for it. This would make the Zenesis the most exotic and advanced material based PV ever! Especially for the Ti version.

Just worried about shattering it as I drop my PVs quite often. Zen, are you confident about procuring enough to have a supply of spares? I just hope we don't have the scarcity of parts here for the Zenesis as we see for GG stuff.

Since to get them to do it at all, I have a 1000 pc. minimum order in mixed sizes... I think we will be fine with spares!

OK, so lets talk for a minute... hypothetically speaking...

IF by chance, I found a crystal clear material that exceeds the ability of Pyrex to be impervious to liquids... ie. your juice has absolutely NO ability to damage it... and by chance, I can get it in the correct tubing size to use as the tank on the Zenesis PVs and Z-attys...

And what if there was NO additional machining required to make this happen...

The only thing is waiting to have the material cut may take a week... but we are already delayed by the machine shop anyway...

And I am 98% percent certain based on thorough and exhausting calculations that there is plenty of clearance and it won't have the thermal expansion issue....

Those are the upsides...

The downside possible delay of a few extra days...

It's expensive... but not to worry, I'm not changing the price of anything, I'm just commenting that it's expensive and replacement tanks will cost a bit more...

Anyway...

By my calculations, experiments and knowledge of materials, I would like to propose that the Zenesis Hyprid PV and and Z-attys... starting with THIS shipment... would be the FIRST and ONLY PV or tank for that matter to be supplied with...

A Fused Quartz Tubing Tank section.

It blows Pyrex out of the water...

It's EXOTIC!

And it's what REPLACED Pyrex in most serious labs.

Because it's better...

This is exciting stuff... should we do it?

Zenfidels... ESPECIALLY the Febbies...

What say you?
Glorious!!!! Count me in!!

I say go for it! Yes. I can wait an additional week for a fused quartz tank.

We'll also have a Ti Zenesis with a Quartz Tank! Too awesome for words.

Will this discolor at all with time? Or since it's better than Pyrex, stays as clear as Pyrex does?

The new tubing tank upgrade would be perfect. You mentioned that it is fused, will this make replacing the tank section if it's broken harder?

Nope, the material itself is called fused quartz. The quarts is fused together to create the product during the manufacturing process. The result of the process is a type of glass, in this case in the shape of a tube, that acts similarly to other glass products.

The material is called "fused quartz"... It will be just as easy to replace, but it's scratch resistant, will not discolor and will not have any interaction with the juice.

Marchies will have no delay caused by this... it's the Febbies I'm concerned about.
