I bought a cheap ego-t and cheap juice from a gas station
Last year I used it then for whatever reason put it somewhere and continued smoking. I came across it about 2 1/2 months ago and filled it up and started vaping it. It really sucked, juice was horrible. That same day I just started googling ego batteries not knowing anything about box mods, ect I was looking at ego batteries.
Saw the ego twist that you could adjust wattage. I thought cool I wanted this.
Talked the wife into going to a vape shop here in town, and after looking and talking to the guy working. I ended up leaving with a camo eGRIP.

Never experienced such an amazing vape in my life. It literally changed my life right there and then. I haven't even thought about smoking again after a long 18 years of it.

Then of course as soon as I was home , vaping away, I google eGRIP. That brought me to ECF. There hasn't been a day I haven't been on here reading, learning, watching reviews, all kinds of stuff.
I'm building my own coils, and in this short time I own the egrip, MVP20w , istick 30w with the subtank mini and soon to arrive istick 50w with the youde goblin.
Its all keeping me just so crazy about vaping and has become a hobby for me now and I absolutely enjoy it.

I'm a newbie and trying to quit smoking. Right now I am smoking and vaping. Monday the 9th is my quit date for analogs. How did you do it? Did you go right to vaping or did you wean off analogs while vaping?

I got lucky I guess and very fortunate. This year I've smoked less then a dozen analogs. They all have been at work and I was a pack to a pack and a half a day smoker. I never had plans to quit either. My wife started several months before I did and the day I bought a starter kit I knew I was gonna quit, or at least figured I would. Some may say that I haven't quit since I have smoked a few this year. I like to think of it more like someone who occasionally smokes a cigar, but I think that's a pretty good track record. I love to vape, that's the part I figure I'm fortunate on.

I tried a couple different cigalikes... thought they might work, but couldn't get them to replace the cigarettes.
I was out drinking one night and a guy was selling CE4 starter kits, as I have a habit of doing silly things while drinking I picked one up and a couple of flavors. Hated the plastic tanks leaking, but after several months playing with it I finally decided to give it a real try.
I started off not allowing myself a cigarette at work.. realized it took the edge off and I wasn't going to go nuts, after about a week the only cigarette I wouldn't give up was that first one in the morning, after 4 days of just one in the morning I finally dug deep and stopped smoking cigarettes.
After 5 months I still get cravings, but I haven't caved once, even with the boyfriend still smoking. After several attempts to quit over 25+ years of smoking I feel pretty confident that I have finally succeeded.
Getting the right gear, for me the Nautilus or GS Air and the IStick or other variable voltage batteries, and realizing that vaping will give you the nicotine and that the urges will pass much easier than you think works for a lot of people

It's so great to read about everyone's journey; those that resonate with me and those that make me green with envy. Thanks for starting this thread and for sharing your stories.

My first e-cig arrived almost exactly a month ago. After researching here I started a 30w eleaf istick and mini nautilus. Finding a good juices has been harder but I'm making headway and learning a lot.

From a PAD smoker for 30 years, I've easily cut way back but not yet quit 100%. Most of the time I stick to 3-4 stinkies a day though last week was major-life-event stressful. A couple days I smoked 15 stinkies but just let it be. No analogues over the weekend at all and so far this week I'm back to 3-4 a day.

Today I did the math and was pleased to see that I avoided smoking 20 packs of analogues in February because I am vaping. (Pats herself on the back.) Today I also noticed I wanted to step away from the group smoking outside when I was vaping because their analogues really stunk. A non-smoker friend I went to lunch with asked me to vape in her car so she could smell the apple pie, too. (Mind blown!)

Someone posted early on in this thread about the mental challenge and I am going to agree. It's a head game. At some point I will make a decision to say 'enough' and be done. I really think I'm almost ready but I don't see myself picking a day.
More than likely I'll probably just choose to stop buying the stinkies. :)

Indeed, finding a flavor you like is a voyage! But with several toppers and batteries (you DO need spares of everything!) you can keep a few different ones loaded and ready.

What many do for high stress situations is keep a little juice of a higher nic around. Switching to that in those times can help :)

For some reason not having any cigarettes available causes anxiety and I want them more than I should.

When I was polluting my lungs with tobacco cigs I often felt the same way. When I was making a conscious effort to cut back (I would bypass every second or third 'want') it was much easier if I had a pack of smokes..

I started using some V2 e-cigs and after a couple of weeks, I found myself not even wanting cigarettes most of the time. I just let the switch happen naturally and didn't put any pressure on myself to quit smoking, because I didn't expect to like the e-cigs as much as I did. I quit smoking the day my next order came in the mail because I'd just smoked the last cigarette in my pack and had no desire to go buy more.

My brother bought me a ecig (that was the brand name) from China in June 2012. It was a cig-a-like which had the worst draw; gave me headaches trying to get anything out of it. Needless to say, I tired it, did not like it, and put it in my desk drawer. Fast forward a year and I was running out of smokes one night and pulled that cig-a-like out. It got me through and it worked for the night. That got me curious about vaping so I picked up a Blu starter which was better but was still lacking. Then upgraded to a few ego batteries with c4 tanks in October 2013. That reduced my cigarette intake from 2+ PAD to about a half pack a day. Upgraded to a MVP2 and better tanks in December 2013 and have been smoke free since January 2014. So I guess it took about 3-4 months to go from 2+PAD to smoke free. However, quitting was not what I was going for when I started vaping. It was a happy accident as my brother got me that cig-a-like which I hated yet that crappy technology got me curious about vaping. Still got that crappy cig-a-like on my work desk for some reason.
