How do I smell?

I started out by trying a Mistic from Walmart to see how all this would go, but I still smoked during that one e-cig. I ordered and received my V2 starter kit last night, charged up the batteries, and started using them as soon as I could. I got my wife a kit as well.

We're both 2 PAD smokers from way back when. So far, once I started vaping, I don't feel I need a real cigarette. I've been able to quit analogues a couple of times by just laying them down cold turkey, stopping for as much as 5 years, so I wasn't really expecting much trouble converting to ecigs. The problem was always that stressful moment that would make me pick up that cigarette that my wife had laying around, and I was hooked again. When I started smoking, a pack cost $0.29. I could put a quarter and a nickel in a cigarette machine, get a pack of cigarettes, and it would return a penny and a pack of matches.

Anyway, the real reason for this thread is I want to know how much of an odor these new things are putting out. I realize that after a while, I'll be able to tell for myself, but being off of cigarettes for just one day, I don't really have my sense of clear smell back yet. I know my lungs feel clearer, the coughing has subsided, but not the nose. Since I quit smoking for a couple of extended periods, I know how much the analog smokers stink. Do these ecigs leave any lingering odor on me or in the air around me?

Thanks

The only flavors that i have ran across that leave a smell are the maple based flavors. If I start with a french toast flavor in the morning, i will wake up the entire house thinking that there is breakfast ready to go lol. Other than that no odors. Just some potent juices can hang around for a while, but who doesnt love the smell of french toast! Well i guess the people that wake up and think there is food, but are just disappointed lol.

Wow! The penny and pack of matches REALLY took me back. Time Machines are fun aren't they.

In a couple of weeks you will know what EVERYTHING smells like. One of the joys of stopping smoking.

Your e-cig in general smells very light and pretty much only while the fogs still visible, by the time it dissipates so does the scent.

Good luck. I just read somewhere that it takes 66 days to build a habit. So aim high and get'er'done

Yep, not much smell at all. Though I think the PG content makes a difference too in how it affects others. When I 1st tried vaping a couple years ago, the smell bugged my wife and Dad. It irritated their throats. I was vaping %100 PG or 80/20. This time around it's 30/70 and neither is bugged. My wife is very sensitive to smells and she doesn't even comment. I suppose that someone could be irritated by VG too, but it seems less likely.

You won't smell at all. The vapor you're producing quickly evaporates into the air and doesn't leave a film on everything like smoke does. Now the vapor itself will have a smell (from whatever flavor you're vaping), but that too will quickly dissipate as it evaporates. Rest assured, your days of reeking like foul smoke are over my friend. :0)

Some people are told and report that some vapes smell like pee. I've noticed that
to be true in some of my tobacco flavors. I've left my man cave and returned to
smell something cigar-ish, which I like. I was in a car w/a friend the other day, and
he rolled down the window cuz he said he could smell that flavor, though he didn't
smell the others I had vaped. But no, it doesn't linger very long.

Who cares what you smell like or how long it lingers when you vape? You don't stink and any smells that you emit are actually pleasant. It's a huge change from analogs. I will never forget the first time wind blew my hair in my face and I realized that it didn't smell like cigarette smoke. It was great (still is). My car has a bit of an e-cig odor because I vape so much in it, but it smells nice. Kinda like an old air freshener. Some of my friends/family actually like the small of some of my vapes too! It's nice to hear, "blow some of that this way" instead of "you stink, get out!"
