Take a breath: You can get a caffeine fix from an inhaler

Basically a caffeine inhaler? This was front page of USAT website for some lunchtime reading and immediately struck me as similar to vaping. Think about it, caffeine is very similar to nicotine. The method of getting the caffeine fix in this case is very similar (not sure I fully understand it though) to how us vapers get our nicotine fix. Mainstream media gives the story front page with a picture as well, and the vibe I get is overall positive. I rarely see electronic cigarettes mentioned in news stories and when I do it's typically presented negatively. I fail to see a significant difference between inhaling caffeine and inhaling nicotine. Similar delivery and similar drug effects. Thoughts?

The weird contraption shown at the very end is a lot closer to vaping.

Weird, yes... yet it has me very interested. LOL

I think we're starting to see a trend here which I can't help but think has been started through the PV industry. First, we have caffeine inhalation as the OP points out is akin to nicotine inhalation -- caffeine absorbed w/o drinking coffee or whatever and nicotine sans smoking.

The *contraption* at the very end of the vid is going to be marketed for tasting flavors via vapor, it seems. Man, if that doesn't sound like marketing flavors to those who never smoked I don't know what is. LOL

But Democratic U.S. Senator Charles Schumer of New York wants the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to review AeroShot, saying he fears it will be used as a club drug, so young people can drink until they drop. Schumer's national press secretary did not immediately respond to calls for comment.

Good to know Chuck is already looking out for the children.

Well, I'm not exactly known for popular opinion. I'd want the FDA to review it.

Doesn't relate to e-cigs to me. Not the same delivery method or replacing a similar habit. IDK where it's harm reduction either (unless caffeine was shown to cause you harm by digesting it rather than inhaling it) since most don't get caffeine from inhaling it via more harmful means. Caffeine supposedly helps asthma. Maybe it would help asthma sufferers, maybe it would irritate their lungs... IDK... that's why it should be tested.

Also, since when is getting caffeine by drinking it in liquid, or taking a pill even, a hard thing to do? Why do we even need this?

(Grumbles). A lot of things CAN be done. SHOULD we inhale our caffeine? IMO no. Although, if it doesn't cause a lot of heart attacks or some lung issues I guess I'd defend your "right" to do it. Who knows, maybe it's easier on your digestive system... if it doesn't mess up your lungs or stress your system from too-fast absorption.

Just my own personal opinion. 2 cents.

EDIT: P.S. The device at the end....Le Whaf...http://trendsupdates.com/you-can-breath-in-your-food-from-le-whaf-and-restrict-your-calorie-intake/ ultrasonic vaporizer for stuff. IDK about that either, since a lot of stuff (chocolate?) isn't really meant to be inhaled. However... looks like it might be a great e-juice atomizer! (All disclaimers in effect tho... IDK much about it). Not sure I'd try it without a lot more research even with e-juice. But has sure got my interest.

I'm pretty sure a modder will get hold of one of these soon and make an ultrasonic e-hookah out of it or something. Too ....-ish for me. Ultrasonics have been a topic in the modder's section for a long time now.

EDIT AGAIN: Looks like you have to buy his aroma liquids which are formulated for inhaling... hmmm. Wonder if he uses basically 0 nic e-juice formula? Wonder if the ANTZ will be all over this too?
