I received my 510 Sep 11 2009 at 8:30 am. I filled the cart and went outside to try it. I really had no desire to quit smoking, but wanted something to help cut down. My thoughts were that this isn't smoking, but it isn't bad. I went into the den and started watching TV. I took a pull on the ecig and another and realized I didn't need to go out in the broiling sun any longer. I didn't have a tobacco cig the rest of that day and went to sleep that night without the raspy breathing I had been living with for months previously. I had quit smoking after 43+ years of a 2 pack a day habit. I spent the next 4 years and 10 months trying to find what worked best for me. I have found that with my Vamo and M16 Sentinal with a kick set at 8 watts and VZ super concentrated flavors mixed at 3% delivered either from my kayfun or from my Novas that I recoil to 1.8 ohms.........LIFE IS GOOD......

If you have been experiencing ANY extra pains, quit drinking this stuff. Seriously! I used to be a hardcore DC drinker and had a lot of severe pains in my joints, especially wrists, hands, etc. .
A friend told me to swear off diet coke for a month. Sure enough, the pains subsided. Now if I were to have one it nearly kills me by the next day. I occasionally drink a diet pepsi, but never get the same reaction.
It's the aspartame.

I've since cut WAY back on any soda intake. Since I've been running more, nothing seems to taste better than ice water. I was just using the Coke thing to further my point. But thank you for your concern.

Took me 6 weeks to completely quit from 2 pk a day x 37 yrs. I still kept a pk of smokes in the console of my car. Couple of times I was stressed and just knew I needed a real cig. 1st hit to light it up, 2nd hit threw it out the window. Eventually the vape will be soo much better that the cigs taste like burning weeds:vapor:

about a month.Have only smoked/vaped when enjoying adult pop my whole life.So my experience will be very different than others.I had to have my security blanked(pack of smokes) in my pocket for two months after quitting smoking to know they were near.Funny now but feel soft for it .When you know its better is when I completely quit, even though I knew it at the first vape.

Took me about a month..imo the trick is the really invest and build up your interest in vaping..frequent rebuilds till u get the right setup, sleepless nights just rebuilding..exploring different builds, trying out and exploring new ejuices..will get your mind of that..
The mere fascination; or for some the sum of $ invested in e-cigs will prevail..
Read and youtube vape stuff, vape magazines, anything related..
The other day i tried to take analogs, 2 puffs and i vomited..

I can't seem to totally shake it yet. I am doing "better", having cut my consumption of analogs in half. I have only really just gotten a handle on my equipment, and how to do all of this properly. I feel like I am getting closer to wanting to let go...yet just cannot seem to make that final decision that "today is the day". So how long did it take you? Or what helped you to finally say goodbye forever?:vapor:

I can only tell my story, but it might provide some insight. I smoked for almost 40 years before starting to vape. By the end of the first week I was down from a 2 PAD cigarette habit to about 6 cigarettes a day. I did that for a couple of years until one day I decided to vape after meals while I was smoking my after dinner cigarette. I'd take a puff from the cig and then the next one from my ecig. What I discovered was that the vapor tasted far better than the cigarette. The cigarette was nasty compared to the vapor. Both gave me nicotine. At that point, I knew I was going to continue vaping, so I decided not to buy another pack of cigs and see what happened.

What happened was pretty anti-dramatic. There were no cravings and I just vaped along with no desire to smoke. After a while I found I could stand next to a smoker while vaping and not want a cigarette.

The key point is that I didn't just quit suddenly and leave myself hung out to dry. I kept smoking a few a day after meals and with coffee. When I decided to quit I was so far out from my 2 PAD habit I had lost most of the addiction to tobacco cigarettes.

If tobacco cravings are driving you up the wall, you can control it by allowing yourself a few rewards for a period of time and then quit. Have a couple with coffee and one after each meal, maybe one at night before bed. Take one of those away here and there and finally quit them all. if you feel a craving, just vape hard and wait for the craving to leave. Ecigs aren't immediate like cigarettes. It takes a few minutes for the nic to get into your system. Cigarettes are instant gratification.

Allow yourself to have a cigarette at key points in your day. Vape the rest of the time. Take one away here and there until you feel you can dump them all. Don't worry if you slip. It's part of the plan. Just start the process again until you smoke no more.

24mg juice helps a lot.

I thought I already posted here as I told my story once but alas it must have been in another like minded thread so here is mine.....I am a professional quitter! I have tried so many times I was very close to making the "Hall of Shame for quitters", have to try 500 times to make the hall. I lost count how many times I had though, needless to say I tried and failed until I started having breathing issues related to emphysema. I was PAD smoker, started at 16 smoking Camel non filters, that went on until I was old enough to buy my own, then it was Marlboro Red until I was 45( I am 57) then the slow/poor plan to get healthy I switched to American Spirit Blue to the last day I smoked.

The reason I used Camel was because dad smoked them and they were easy to steal from him, I guess in hindsight I was doing him a favor but had no clue I was plotting my demise in the years to come.

So on August 17th 2011 at 9:24pm...I chose this time as it is the same as my car model number....to quit, I just up and quit. The next morning I ran to the C store for a cigalike, then the vaping process began.....needless to say I never smoked another analog since, no angst, no tense moments, no withdrawals, no nothing!

I owe it all to vaping, I never made it to the "Quitters Hall of Shame" but sure as hell am aiming to get into the "Hall of Fame for vaping"!:D:vapor:

It was instantly for me. I bought my starter kit 6 days ago and haven't smoked but one analog since, and that was because my battery was charging. That one analog tasted like crap, and gave me a headache. Same situation happened today and I lit an analog up, took one hit, instant headache and I can't describe what it tasted like, NOT like the cigs I enjoyed smoking for 30 years! I threw the rest of my analogs away right then. Got backup batteries coming. :)
