Whew! I just read all 15 pages HOPING I would find SOMEBODY who took as long as ME to make the switch.
My first kit was received December 19, 2009 (Joy 510 cig-a-like). From the very first vape I thought to myself, "I can DO this!"
Yet, like DaveP wrote, IF we had better equipment in those days, it would have been easier for me.
I vaped AND smoked from December 19, 2009, until September 25, 2011, when I upgraded to the new Ego-T. Vaping was tough in those days, and a heck of a lot of WORK!
So, it took me almost TWO YEARS to make the switch...but I did it, finally!
The thing that kept me going day after day, and continuing to enjoy the vape was that it's not about how many you DO smoke, but how many you have avoided. Eventually, I avoided ALL of'em...and I have the fine friends at ECF to thank for the encouragement and support they provided when I needed it most.
DaveP - 2 years
Mr Anderson - 2 years
Me - 1 year and 9 months
fropit - 1 year and 5 months
(Fat Freddy - 5yrs and counting)
It makes me happy to see how quickly and successfully so many of y'all are making the switch within only a few days. It didn't used to be that way, but thanks to innovation, some wonderful products have been developed to make our FREEDOM possible.
THANKS TO ALL THE FOLKS WHO INNOVATE and gave US better odds for quitting the analogs!!!

'keepsmiling' - you're doing great!
