Thanks for everyone's input to this thread. I cannot thank you all enough because just your sharing was enough to give me that kick in the pants I needed.:) I am now 23 days in and feeling great! My sense of smell kicked back in last week and oh my! I had to load up on lysol cleaner and stuff..haha..:D

Congratulations. It get's easier every day! I don't ever want to smoke another stinky again. I actually find vaping to be quite enjoyable. I know I vape more time than when I smoked. But it keeps me happy and I know I'm saving people around me from inhaling bad things and from me wanting to rip their heads off if I was not vaping.

good for you!

it took us the first few days having 3 cigs a day, morning coffee being the worst and after the first week, none. We gave all the stuff away to keep us "honest" (rolling machine, tubes, tobacco, lighters, cases etc) but then we were really motivated to quit. (May 30, 2014)

It was purely psychological, we were meeting nicotine needs...but then again that's always the hardest part, it just becomes a habit to NOT when you get a craving, grab the vape.

Good luck.

For me it was instantly when i went into the local smoke shop with twenty bucks and found a starter kit i could actually afford. it was the same price as a bag of the rolling tobacco I bought for years and couldnt believe i could get a starters kit for the same price instead, havnt smoked since the end of february. loving it.

I've been vaping for over 5 years. I have the occasional cigarette and don't feel bad about it, nor do I go back to smoking full time.

FAT FREDDY! wow flashback I'm an old Freakbrothers fan way way back lol.

On the question I started on Blus and was still having 2 or 3 a day. Then upgraded to ego-twist and evod about a week later and haven't had a cigarette since. But I have upgraded more preferred setup now is R91 on a Provari at 1.5 ohms

Whew! I just read all 15 pages HOPING I would find SOMEBODY who took as long as ME to make the switch.

My first kit was received December 19, 2009 (Joy 510 cig-a-like). From the very first vape I thought to myself, "I can DO this!" :)

Yet, like DaveP wrote, IF we had better equipment in those days, it would have been easier for me.

I vaped AND smoked from December 19, 2009, until September 25, 2011, when I upgraded to the new Ego-T. Vaping was tough in those days, and a heck of a lot of WORK!

So, it took me almost TWO YEARS to make the switch...but I did it, finally! :D

The thing that kept me going day after day, and continuing to enjoy the vape was that it's not about how many you DO smoke, but how many you have avoided. Eventually, I avoided ALL of'em...and I have the fine friends at ECF to thank for the encouragement and support they provided when I needed it most.

DaveP - 2 years
Mr Anderson - 2 years
Me - 1 year and 9 months
fropit - 1 year and 5 months
(Fat Freddy - 5yrs and counting)

It makes me happy to see how quickly and successfully so many of y'all are making the switch within only a few days. It didn't used to be that way, but thanks to innovation, some wonderful products have been developed to make our FREEDOM possible.

THANKS TO ALL THE FOLKS WHO INNOVATE and gave US better odds for quitting the analogs!!! :toast::thumbs:

'keepsmiling' - you're doing great! :2c:

Took me a week but that was probably just laziness/stupidity on my part hehe. I got one of the Green Smoke e-cig trials like 3-4 weeks ago and was still smoking that first week I had it.. A week in, my pack ran out and I told myself 'Ok not gonna go buy another one lets see how these work on their own' and that was it. A week later for my Evod kit and nada still.. I still get these tiny cravings once in awhile where I think I want a cigarette (it was my 'quiet time' to go out on the front porch and get away from everything) but when that happens I just start vaping like mad and forget about it hehe..

Keep it up! I haven't smoked for two years now and I don't ever want one anymore.
