Pretty immediate for me. I still had cravings for analogs the first week or so, but it wasn't too bad. As long as I vaped like a fog machine, the transition was very smooth... next month will be a year now :)

Glad you found us here at ECF, smells! Congrats on making the switch. If you're anything like most of us here, you'll start to notice all kinds of good things over the next few weeks and months, like like your sense of smell returning. It's lovely.

Thanks. i am a strange person as i hated smoking at home and occassionally smoked in the work place. However, when i went to a bar i smoked like a chimney!
I am finding it different, but in a nice way where i can just sit in a bar with an e smoke and it doesnt cross my mind, i think it was a massive psycological thing of having a cigarette shaped item in my hand, and the ability to smoke something. I tried the kojak method, but that was bad as i couldnt eat candy and drink beer together!
It is nice after a night out, not to have the smokers sensation on my chest.

I still smoke several analogs a day. My wife hasn't quit yet, so they are still around and available. I guess I still need the MAO component. It's funny. They taste terrible, but I reach for one here and there. It's still much better than 40-50 a day. I find that I don't inhale them much anymore.

Still at 2 T-Ciggs a day for whatever dumb reason my body has. I find though if I keep a pack on me even if I don't smoke them I don't feel as desperate to want them. As I posted in another thread, I think it's just the security blanket mentality. Otherwise I went from 18 T-Ciggs a day to 2 the very next day after I started vaping.

Thanks for the link DaveP, very interesting information. MAO B could be why I'm still having withdrawal symptoms (2 days off analogs) even though I'm vaping nicotine.

Immediate here. Had some cravings, especially before I realized vaping foody/fruity juices with little TH made me feel like I had eaten and left me craving an analog. Once I noticed that, I stuck tobacco juices and tried a ton of them to find one that I really liked the aroma of - one that made me go ahhhh and be extra relaxed. Other than 3 battery emergencies where I had to smoke one while waiting for one battery to charge enough to vape it while the other charged, I didn't smoke any cigarettes after I started vaping. I learned the tricks of the PCC I had, bought lots of batteries and full charging setups for work and home, even bought a different model PV and carried both of them charged. NO more battery emergencies.

After about 6 weeks and fooling with adding chocolate and vanilla to tobaccos, I was alble to vape some foody flavors alone. Now I can vape any flavor and not crave an analog.

Some things that helped me -
- The cigs I had around for emergencies were the cheap ones I didn't really like, not my old faves
- I carried a pack and lighter in my other jeans pocket for emergencies and security blanket for 2 weeks then stuck them in the car trunk where I guess they still are
- In the beginning I tried to keep my vaping the same frequency and locations as my smoking had been.
- I found it disruptive to have to decide "ok this is my last drag" then disassemble set up charging of the ecig before bed. So I bought enough batteries to leave my ecig set up overnight so it would be there and ready to vape if I woke up and ready to vape in the morning.

If you research what you are buying and make an informed choice about juices and nicotine and get some lower and some high just in case, it should be fairly easy. The first juices you get may not be the pinnacle of ejuices, and it may take some trial and error to find juices that give you extra enjoyment, but it really is nicer than smoking.
