So, how long did it take you to notice or even hate the smell or taste of analogues? I know this changes a lot from person to person, so I'm curious to hear about other people's experiences with this. I'm guessing it usually takes a few weeks, or even more for a longtime PAD smoker?

I'm on day 4 of vaping. Day 1 I still had about 7 analogues, day 2 I had 5, and day 3 I had 3. I smoked one when I woke up this morning, but it just didn't seem to do much for me. Perhaps it's the high nic content in my juice. I don't yet have any aversion to the taste or smell, however.

4 hours after quitting smoking I lit up an analog. After 2 puffs I put it out. It just didn't give me the same kick. Started at 36 mg and now down to 30 mg. I found the worst were the physical habits- looking for ashtray/ analogs when I sat at desk, getting worried going out without my analogs. I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't feel the need for an analog..It's not a race so be patient and I was told by some very savvy Vets here that the first 10-14 days would be the worst. Have you cut down on analogs? That in itself is success. What is the Nic content you are vaping?

I've been a week with mine, and I tried a couple of drags the other day, and it wasn't like, eeww, but the taste just didn't seem like I remembered, it. like 'oh, i can't wait to go out and have a smoke'. It was more like, 'What did I see in the taste of these things'. Didn't make me want to puke or anything, but I am glad I switched, my e-cig actally has a pleasant taste to it (of course different flavors helps :) )

Hmm, perhaps the flavoring is the key. I smoked menthols before, and I'm vaping 24mg menthol now. I have some fruity flavors shipping to me now with a new PV, though. Maybe that will help a bit.

Oh, yes. I was well above PAD, and now it looks like 2-4 per day. I'm finishing off my last pack slowly, but at this rate it'll be well into November before I do.

I started on my e-cig a month ago and haven't had an analog since. I don't get exposed to cigarette smoke very often, but last weekend we went to a casino and the smell of smoking, while way more noticeable than when I was also smoking, didn't really bother me. I hope I don't ever turn into one of those people who wrinkles their nose, makes a face, or produces a fake cough when they see someone smoking.

From 1 PAD to 2-4 per day??? IMO that's HUGE success. I started with 36 mg knowing that if it was too strong I could always dilute down to a lower level. I have very little taste or smell so the flavors don't matter much to me. I absolutely hated menthol but was also told when I first began I may like it. Lo and behold I love some drops of menthol in my juice...seems to give a little extra kick and I can't do without it now. I am now mixing my own juice.
Cheers and Good Luck.

Been 3 weeks since i vape. day 1 i got half a pack left of analog so i half vape half smoked. i usually go through 2 days per pack but on day 3 vaping, i still had 2 sticks left and was hesitating to throw. finally finished them and day 4 was happy vaping for me.
Havent touched a analogue since so i cant say much but am tempted cuz i have smokers surrounding me lol. And when tempted, i just take out my pv n vape~ but i do find the 2nd hand smoke smells a lil strong now. guess my sense of smell is returning more.

One's tastes do evolve and I may be different from many but in answer to the OP's question, I still love the aroma of a freshly opened pack of cigarettes. In all honesty, I don't mind the smell when people are smoking around me either. Shortly after quitting I took a few drags off a cig and it tasted like crap. Another time, long after I quit, I lit one up at a bar and took a few drags...expecting to be gagging like crazy...I didn't. In fact, it tasted great even though I almost fell over from the chemical rush. I stubbed it out after that first few drags as it was just out of curiosity that I bummed it at all. Wasn't worried about anything though as the smell of stale cigs on people does turn my stomach and I'm thankful to not smell like that anymore.

I'm so glad to be done with enslavement to cigarettes but can't honestly say I hate them.

I don't think you are going to hate them if you keep smoking them. As long as you keep smoking them, your taste buds and sense of smell will not bounce back, and you will still be used to the harsh flavor of cigarettes. If you stop smoking them I think within 2 weeks they will start to taste like the crap pile of chemicals they are.
