How many have snuck in the occasional cigarette while vaping?

Got my cigalike Vape March 20th 2013, not had one single puff of a cigarette since then, I have been tempted to try one just because the amount of people say how now is horrible after vaping, but not wanted to try one for actually desire of smoking, but doubt I will even take a puff, would feel I let myself down after all this time smoke free.

I don’t miss smoking at all, the main reason I wanted to quit, was just how dirty smelly habit it is, vaping can be frustrating at times and more time consuming, but love the hobby side of it and love all the different flavors.

I had smoked for 30 years before started vaping, and tried many times to give up and always failed, I am proof that ecigs do help people quit smoking :)

Not this time around, other than when I was getting started and a few catastrophic falls of the wagon.

I always dreamed of being a ONE cigarette a day smoker.. The first time I hit vaping I quit for 6 weeks, but had to go back to work rather fast, that did not LAST at all.

The other thing is, I encountered vaping fairly early on, and dual used for a while before returning to smoking, and it just... It sucked. It turned into "vape when I can't smoke" and smoke everywhere else.

I'm a bit scared of cigarettes to be quite honest... It's so easy to go from one or two to more. I'm also nervous about upcoming job interviews because stress is my MAIN trigger. I do think if I smoke anytime soon, it will be before a job interview. I do not think I would return to dual use, though.

BUT that's the thing, you just NEVER know what is going to happen. My husband was dual using but doing a lot better, and his MIL visiting to STAY in our home, I don't think he's even vaped in quite a while.

I fear getting into that situation, but I'm not going to say it's impossible. I HATE job interviews. Etc.

I was a DEDICATED smoker for 25 years. I liked smoking. After finding the right setup for me I am entirely flabbergasted that I have no desire for a smoke. I was having this convo with my mom yesterday. I no longer see myself as a smoker, and have no intention of having another smoke. After the first week or so of dual using it has just entirely lost any appeal. As long as I have something I can vape I am golden.

If all my vape gear magically disappeared I don't think I would be in a rush to go buy smokes. So strange to change this 25 years of programming in such a short span of time. Never thought that would happen. Ever!

It's been such a long time ago but I think I smoked a few puffs first thing in the morning, for a few days, when I first started vaping. I wanted to quit smoking for so long and so badly that I was amazed something was working for me. I don't think smoking occasionally is a bad thing just wasn't for me.

I bought a pack of 20 about two months after I started vaping over 5 years ago. I wanted to see if it was gone. I threw 19 cigarettes away. Couldn't stand it any more. After than I stopped at the bookstore and picked up the book "Sanctimonious! A behaviour guide for former smokers"

Smoked my last one on Jan. 14, 2014, after smoking 1 - 1.5 PAD for 42+ years before that. Personally, I know I'll never have another smoke. I love vaping, much more than I ever really enjoyed smoking. Also, I've handled several very stressful time periods since quitting, and vaping was enough to help me get through them just fine.

No - I do not sneak a smoke. Been vaping for almost 7 years. Was a heavy smoker. During the first year twice I ran out of supplies and bought a pack each time and just smoked a few.

It's my personality --- all or nothing. So I could vape all the time - that's what I do, smoke all the time (BAD) or smoke and vape all the time. There's no real in between for me. In the case of vaping it's great - for other situations (according to others who have been on the receiving end) maybe not so great according to them :) :)

I do not miss the taste of marlboro's. I have found flavors, coffee, vanilla, vanilla tobaccos that I totally enjoy.

In the first year of quitting, I think I had 4-5 puffs on a cig. I never smoked the whole thing. In the 2nd year, I inhaled the tip of someone else's freshly lit cig a couple times. In the third year, nothing at all other than vaping.

Everyone is different, the goal is to stop smoking or smoke so little it doesn't matter. With it being over 3 years now, I just stay away from it completely.

It's so hard to quit when cigarettes are around you. I think it's time hubs went outside to smoke and stops leaving his cigs around. Maybe then I can just vape. I don't even like smoking anymore.
I keep the last cig that I smoked (one I made/bought) that was put out half way in a ziplock bag in the house. It's dated when I put it out. Try that. I always have that 1/2 cig here, but to look at the bag and see the date, no thanks.

When I quit smoking tobacco I quit in 1 day with vaping , about 4 months without a cigarette and having a very bad day I lit up and took 2 hits and hated the taste, I smoked 2 pad's a day for 43 yrs. Tomorrow will be 4 yrs of quitting tobacco.

I have not had a puff from a cigarette since Nov 30, 2014- not one puff or desire to ! I smoked for 30+ years and was determined this time to stay cigarette free! I can be very stubborn and to be able to use this talent to stay cigarette free by using vaping worked for me.
My hubby dual uses- he is NOT allowed to smoke in the house- he has to respect that I quit cigarettes and I don't want to be around that stench! Took me weeks of cleaning and repainting to get that cigarette stench out of my house.
To "treat" myself to sneaking a cigarette when I know how deadly they are, how much they stink, how addictive they are, and how much they cost- No Thank You!

I agree with everything you said, and the cleaning and washing the walls then painting blows your mind at just how much was there and worse yet, it was in your lungs also.

I had a cigarette today but before that I went 17 days and before that a month or so without them.

My problem is my mom keeps cigarettes at my house because she doesn't want anyone to know she smokes so it's very tempting.

I can see that as being tempting. I had others in my family that used to smoke but they quit long before I did so when I started vaping there were no cigs in the house. I am very much family oriented to the point that sometimes it was at the expense of me. And then a few years back it was like a light bulb went off and I said to myself that I must take care of me. And I do. So take care of yourself. If having cigs in the house is too tempting try to find a way to get the cigs out of the house.
