How many have snuck in the occasional cigarette while vaping?

I smoked Camel straights for nearly 30 years. Man, I loved smoking.
After I picked up vaping about five years ago, I’ve smoked two or three cigarettes.
Funnily enough, I smoked the cigarettes because I was in India and was having trouble sourcing eliquid at the time. I was trying to ration my juice by having a cigarette instead. I didn’t enjoy it, and ended up getting some pretty wild juice flavors messengered to me all the way up to Varanasi from down in Bangalore.

I have no intention of ever smoking again. I worried about it the first few years (especially when the feds confiscated all the ecigs coming in). Thanks to ECF I learned quickly to generate some 14500 box mods. If stress really gets to me (I try not to let it) my goal will be to subohm some 36mg unflavored. It might be interesting to see how that turns out....

I wish I could have one sometimes. And maybe the way vaping works so well- it wouldn't be an issue. But I have a very addictive personality and don't want to chance it. I believe the last one that I did have was quite the turn-off.

Certainly isn't any of my business if anyone else does tho of course.

Well now that I've been smoke-free for a year and a half I thought I could have one and I did but I noticed it was nasty and foul tasting. So I just keep vaping and I am fine. I refuse to go back to that addiction. I hated always having to worry about getting money for cigs. With vaping, I won't feind out like I did for cigs if I go without.

This thread is timely for me, I started sneaking cigs a few years ago after being smoke free for 4 years. Just a couple here and there while out for drinks with my friends, and very quickly was a full blown smoker again. I kept thinking about vaping again, but the ease of just buying packs and smoking just kept me there. Vaping was great for me for years but I was having a hard time finding the equipment that I like and didn’t like all the new cloud chasing high watt stuff that was everywhere. I just remembered leaky clearos and tanks that I never liked. A couple of days ago I stumbled onto a pod system that is actually everything I ever wanted in a vape. And I smoked my last cigarette yesterday. Glad to be back, and I won’t be sneaking even one more smoke! Too easy to fall back in for me.

To me it's the opposite. Regularly having to procure smokes was a pain, and there was plenty of anxiety when I was close to running out. That's never an issue for me with vaping because I have many years worth of consumables stockpiled. Then there's the commitment you make when you light a cigarette. The dang things are too expensive to put out and throw away after one or two puffs, so I'd pretty much have to smoke the whole thing. With vaping, if I only want (or only have time for) one or two puffs, there's no guilt because nothing goes to waste. In both of these respects, I've found vaping to be quite liberating compared to smoking.

Never smoked since I started to vape. And why should I? I do know I am a weakling, but not to such extent that to smoke even if I vape. I am a weakling compared to my wife and other people who was strong enough to quit smoking cold turkey.
So, no. Not smoking in 4 years.
But if not for (potential) health issues I would rather smoke than vape.

I’ve been vaping for about three years now. First here’s a background story. I was in Iraq in 2003-2004, and we went through some rough days. In my company at least 25 people began smoking. They did it to calm their nerves. We had a guy who had quit for 11 years and was one of the staunchest anti-tobacco people I’d ever seen. After a rocket attack he walked over and bummed a Marlboro off a guy. Next morning I saw him buying a carton off the Iraqi people who came and sold us stuff. Say what you want, but for a lot of people smoking helps them deal with stress because of the nicotine.

Like I said since I began vaping regularly I’ve smoked a regular cigarette at least twice per week. Know why? I actually like the way a cigarette tastes. There, I’ve said it. So far nothing I’ve found can come close to that. I’ve been determined to keep going (probably because I have so much gear) but I’ve known a few people who just couldn’t make the transition.

I had a chance to use an IQOS for a whole heet stick. I had stopped into my sisters hotel and a guest from Canada was showing it to my sister and asking about using it in the room. My sister is a former smoker, and asked her to demonstrate it. After the demonstration she gave her the Okay to use it. Then my sister asked her to show it to me. The woman let me try it out. She said since she bought it she has not smoked a single cigarette. Even gave away the half pack she had the day she bought it. I’d use it. As for cost think of all the liquid you’ve bought that didn’t do it for you.

So, do you still sneak a real cigarette every once in a while?
    Thanks
Im 44 and smoked since i was 15 but im not your typical smoker, i loved smoking but have always hated the smell of smoke on me for whenever i can remember i spent more time taking the smell off me so i smelt clean i have always been told im weird even wash my hands after a smoke go figure but hey loved smoking. Habit maybe. I have not had one smoke in over 4 weeks early days i know. But heres what i think is driving me. I made a pack that i will not have another smoke and put my kids life on the line a big call but im strong and to be honest i should of made that call years ago. And to be honest i have not craved for a smoke i look at it as a win win for me. I now cannot ever have one otherwise i have killed my kids off might sound dramatic but its worked for me plus i hated the smell on me. U are doing well

I do! Sometimes I'm plain stressed, or an eliquid batch doesn't taste good, or some other reason. I shouldn't, since I had a heart attack a few years ago. I don't buy, my husband has a pack lying around, so I ask him. And it's not that often.
    Hi
Hard for you when hubby smoking me and my partner gave up same time. Then the other day he told me he bought some and i didnt get annoyed he got annoyed himself because i told me him he just killed my kids with a pack we made and he hasn't bought another packet yet ummm so i know to date

safe distance from a black hole
Over a year and a half smoke free .
I limit myself to a crafty smoke in my dreams. Even though it is only in my dream I wake up feeling like I let myself down.
What would Freud make of that.
Ive had a quite a few dreams where Ive smoked cigarettes. Ive woken with a feeling of being really disappointed in myself, guilt! As Ive fully woken up and understood it was a dream Ive remembered the part of the dream where Im really enjoying the cigarette.
Smoking was a big part of my life from sun up to sleep time for 42yrs, even in the wake of stopping smoking 9months ago it still continues to be a big part even just by its absence. Im not sure when or if it will cease to be a reference point.
Another thing, I never used to dream all that much and if I did it wasnt very vivid or memorable. Since quitting tobacco my dream life is off the charts. Ive woken up from dreams weeping, fearful, overjoyed, blissed out and sometimes a weird mixture of shame and happiness. :)

I have been cig free for eight years. I did dual use for about six months before committing to vaping 100%. I am fortunate in that I have been thru some very stressful times but was able to vape and not even think of going back to cigs. Being the type of person that I am, I bought a JUUL to see what all the hype was about. I will say that the Nic hit from the JUUL is the closet to a cig to the best of my memory. I don't vape the JUUL on a daily basis but use it once in awhile. Maybe those people who have an overwhelming urge for a cig now and then could use the JUUL or other high Nic device to satisfy their craving. Just a suggestion, but if you are a e cig user who falls off the wagon once in awhile in my opinion you are doing fine!
    Good Luck!

Have not had a smoke since I quit four and a half years ago. Was a heavy smoker and I know that one will lead to a carton pretty quickly for me. I also get those pesky using dreams where I buy a pack and just before I light up, I wake up. I spend most of the dream looking for a place to smoke where nobody sees me. I get these same dreams with other things I quit. That tells me one puff would get me right back where I was when I quit. BTW, I have no desire to smoke, I love vaping. However, that subconscious stuff just makes my conscious commitment a little stronger.
