i still tend to smoke 2-3 cigarettes a day, a huge decrease from the over a pack a day i was smoking. i usually have 1 or 2 cigarettes before work and one after work, i do not take ANY cigarettes with me to work. i was wondering if im the only one that still smokes a little. at least im not completely screwing up my lungs with a pack a day any more. i feel better now that i dont smoke so much, but i still find myself needing a couple a day, particularly to wake me up in the morning. i feel that quitting these stupid things is one of the hardest things i ever have tried. i wish i really understood how bad the addiction is before i took my first drag when i was young and stupid. i know that cigarettes are gross and disgusting but i still find myself wanting those couple of cigarettes. i wonder what 2-3 or cigarettes a day really does for you health, how bad is it compared to that pack per day that i was smoking?

It took me 9 to 10 months to actually quit, the last few months smoking one or two cigs a day. I thought I'd never completely quit, but I just started to "not smoke". I don't even know what the date was to be honest. I didn't realize I'd actually quit at the time.

Going from over a pack a day to 2 to 3 cigs a day is a good thing. Do you feel better, healthier? I don't know the medical statistics, but I'd bet you can feel the difference. Don't get discouraged; it may just take more time. Hey, even if you can't get away from those last few smokes, you have to be better off.

Every cig NOT smoked is an achievement. Have any of you tried vaping a higher mg strength juice to help curve the cravings? Give it a try...you might find that it will work. If not, smoking will eventually come to a stand still on it's own. If you need those couple of smokes, then do it but you will eventually not want them at all. Another thing may be the hardware that you are using just isn't as satisfying. Try upgrading to a better PV or go with a mod. Good luck to all of you and hang in there.

I quit smoking commpletely last year using my e-cig then picked the analogs back up about 8 months ago. I really don't know why. :(

I just got back to dedicated vaping this week and have cut myself down from 2-1/2 packs a day to less than 1. I'm hoping by Sunday to be completely free fo them again. I have a new 6V mod coming and keeping my fingers cross that arrives by Saturday!

Back in December 2010, I got my eGo kit. That day, I had 5 cigs after 1 1/2 packs a day. A week later, no more cigs and none since!
It's different for everybody. What works for me is 24mg juice and dual-coil cartos.
Every cig avoided is a good thing.
Keep at it, do your reasearch, and you can kick 'em!
This is the best place to get info and support.

I found early on that in the morning I just vaped higher nic juice. morning coffee and a smoke was ritual. I vaped 33mg in the morning. dripping. it gave me that extra bit needed. the first 2 days it was really tough but after that it just got easier and easier. once you stop and realize how much better you can taste stuff, and smell stuff, it really isn't that hard to not smoke any more. now I hate the smell of cigs. and I started smoking 36 yrs ago, 1.5 PAD for the last 30 yrs.

Smoked one cigar since I started to vape, 5 days later and almost died... yes, drama style. A big headache and right lung pain, for the rest of the day until the middle of the next day. Have friends that started vaping because of me that still smoke analogues and I must say to them that some chest pains come from there, the body trying to clean itself but never can.

Thought than only 5 days after vaping i would have this result after 11 years of a ppd.

I think it's really easy to stop smoking with vape, the only problem is the right flavour, because i started vaping and on that moment i decided i would continue with the pleasure without "the real thing", and because I was allready getting frustrated about my lungs and health. Those friends of mine never started vaping thinking, here it is the way never to touch smoke again, they've started to, if you have i want one and i'll do both. This way yes i agree, it will become a lot more dificult to stop smoking. :vapor:

I "ate" Marlborough Reds for almost 40 years. Towards the end, I was up to 2 packs a day. I tried all legal methods to quit for about the last20 years without success. I decided I was the only person in the world that couldn't quit. I started vaping at 3.7v like most and during the first month I slipped and smoked a couple a day. When i discovered 6v, I quit completely and never looked back. It's all about harm reduction. Don't compare to those that quit completely. Even if you smoke half of what you did, it's still significant. For me, once I went for one month without, I realized how really really bad they taste!
I didn't smoke for flavor, I smoked for nicotine and now I have the best of both worlds

I started vaping a year ago yesterday. I smoked 2 cigs on the first day of vaping, one cig the second, another cig after a week. By that time cigs stunk to me. Though I really craved a cig, if I picked one up it was so bitter I had to drop it. The last time I had a strong craving, I took a toke off my husband's cig. It was November. After the toke, the craving went away. The stink was worse than the craving.

My husband started vaping in February (after seeing how successful I was even with him smoking around me.) He has one cig in the morning with his coffee. He now goes outside to have that cig because we both prefer the smell to remain outside.

For us even reducing the number of cigs we smoked was important. We didn't and don't beat ourselves up if we had or have a few.

I was a 1.5 PAD smoker. I started vaping almost a month ago. The goal is to quit analogs completely, but I still smoke one or two most days. Part of the reason, I think, is that I'm still trying to find the right juices. (It doesn't help that my tastebuds seem to be changing every few days.) Each of us is so different in what it takes to hit that point of satisfaction where vaping can replace the analogs. It depends on which aspects of smoking you're most addicted to, your previous smoking habits and a host of other things. It's very individual and personal.

I thought I was falling off the wagon completely last weekend, and I even jokingly told a friend of mine that "BT must have activated the homing chip to bring me back into the fold" because the need to smoke was unbearable, but the next day I was back to just a couple a day.
