I do what I feel like doing. I vape when I want and I smoke when I want. I'm no longer trying to live up to lofty goals.

Reasons I absolute vape, not smoke:

1) When in my car so the car stays clean.

2) When I'm supposed to sing in a couple of days and can't put up with the mucous in my throat caused by smoking a cigarette.

3) Anytime I don't want my breath nor clothing to smell like cigarette smoke.

HTH,
Dave

i think part of the problem is that when i vape i miss lighting it. i would also like to add that i have read on the internet that people that only smoke say less than 1/4 of a pack are at as much risk of getting lung cancer than someone that smokes a pack. i do not buy it and i think its just the "antis" and their bs. no way is smoking 3 or 4 cigarettes a day as bad as smoking a pack or more. I DO NOT BUY IT.

i would also like to add that vapping has significantly cut down on my cigarette consumption and i think this is great. if not for the pv i would still be smoking a pack or more a day. i enjoy nicotine satisfaction and thats not something the anti-smoking community takes kindly to. according to them i worship satin and should die.

You worship satin??? LOL! I'm just ribbing you. I know what you really meant.

I have to agree with you on the very light smoking. I think it's fine to have a few smokes during the day if you really want them, and it isn't going to make you get cancer and die. Hell, people who don't smoke still get cancer. Sure, there is a correlation between smoking and various types of cancer, but smokers aren't the only ones who get those types. They just happen to be more susceptible.

Another tip for helping to quit the almighty clinger cigarette, is:

Once you find a juice & mod that rocks your world as far as flavor and vapor goes, then be prepared with a cig in one hand and a pv in the other. Compare the vapor and the flavor. You'll be pleasantly surprised to find yourself complaining that the cigarette has no vapor, the flavor tastes awful... and you'll find yourself thrilled to pieces with the flavor and vapor of your eCig.

To seperate the two doesn't work. You need to alternate that which you puff from with each puff. Take a cig puff and then a vape puff. Trade off. Your mind, your heart, your body will decide for you. You won't have to do a thing except enjoy how your self has decided for you. :)

My fiance still indulges in the cigarettes and I'll admit that I had one the other day. After almost a year of not smoking, it tasted like garbage. At least now I know and I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon.

I figure if there is any "contest" to any of this, it's how long we stay vaping, not if we are abstaining. But I do feel a little guilty that I might be giving people license to smoke. I take a more positive view that I'm giving people license to return to vaping after they screw up :)

i still smoke about 3 cigs per day,.. all of which i bum off of my friends or pay them $1 for two or three...

the first three weeks of having my PV, i had 0 cigs. I was so proud of myself, and now i'm a bit disappointed in myself. Granted, i haven't bought a pack since august 11th, but i still feel that i have it in me to quit.

E-cigs have no doubt saved me a buttload of money. I feel healthier as well. But as for the complete satisfaction of being "smoke free", I'm still working on that. I was off to a great start at three weeks clean, but I bummed a sickarette socially one night after work... then one while i was drinking,... and now i bum daily (if only 2 or 3 times).

the cigs still taste like trash, since my three weeks clean,.. so after every cig i pull out my PV to cleanse my palette  ... i find it's the feeling of a cig that i crave, and not the taste itself. it's consistent, warm, and has a definitive lifespan.

I would love some advice on how to convince myself to not have ANY cigs. the demon on my shoulder is one hell of an argumentalist. :(

I started vaping to just cut down, save some money, and not have to stand in bad weather. After a week, I realized I could quit, the next week I smoked 2 in the morning on the way to work, none since then. The 2 in the morning was a deeply ingrained ritual. Smoking cigs is a lot of ritual, as well as physical addition.

One thing I notice that is different, is that I used to use cigarettes as timers. "I'll smoke one more cigarette before I go to bed. I'll smoke one more before I [fill in the blank]." Sometimes I would use the cigarette timer to prolong something I was doing, other times to avoid something I was preparing to do.

I wouldn't say vaping has made me more prompt, by any means, that's just something I noticed.

At first i couldnt quit smoking. What helped me quit was smoking organic cigs for two months and then giving ecigs a try. I figured this should give me a stepping stone of getting off the chemicals then try ecigs. So if your going to smoke maybe try organic/no additives only. Maybe eventually your body will understand nicotine is all your getting from now on. The cravings will be satisfied by your pv. That is the idea anyways.

I smoke 1 or 2 cigs when I work because A- It's a more effective nicotine delivery system hands down, get a quick fix easily, and B- it's a more accurate means of determining how much time has passed on a break. However in the car, or at home I use the e-cig exclusively. My work-smoke habit usually boils down to 1 pack every 2 weeks. Not bad, but not great.

n the flip side of that I can absolutely go without an analog for a long long time, days, weeks, it doesn't phase me as long as I have my e-cig. I could never go that long on the patch, gum, or even snus. the only reason I don't reset my signature "counter" is because the amount of cigs I smoke, and money I spend on them is absolutely negligible.

I quit smoking commpletely last year using my e-cig then picked the analogs back up about 8 months ago. I really don't know why. :(

I just got back to dedicated vaping this week and have cut myself down from 2-1/2 packs a day to less than 1. I'm hoping by Sunday to be completely free fo them again. I have a new 6V mod coming and keeping my fingers cross that arrives by Saturday!
6 volts will give you plenty of nic. delivery... I own a roughstack and use dual cartomizers, and I had to lower my nic. strength..Good luck to you...

im using an e-power now. it seems to be my best PV so far. it provides consistent vapor and i love the batteries. 1 charged battery and i can go all day without worrying about a dead battery. those 1450's seem to be a much more reliable battery than the proprietary batteries. i vape 24 mg juice. its not that i cannot function without a cigarette but for whatever reason i still have the desire to smoke however little i do smoke. it probably doesnt help that i have a wife that smokes. she vapes as well but has not cut down the extent that i have. she probably smokes 5-6 cigarettes a day. the good news is that neither of us smoke like we used to but we still have cigarettes in the house. we ran out of cigarettes once and we had an argument about it. i wasnt going to get us any cigarettes but she moaned and groaned, and i caved. a pack lasts us both close to a week, which is pretty good for a couple that used to go through 2-3 packs a day between the two of us.

it doesnt help quitting when you live with a spouse that smokes. funny thing is often times you cannot be with someone that doesnt smoke if you arent a smoker yourself. kind of ironic isnt it.

Well I've told bits of my story in the last couple days, I started vaping over a year ago, and quit analogs cold turkey then and it was great. Went with my bro and sis on some vacations and bummed cigs from them. Then unemployed again I went back to smoking. It was easier to budget $4 or so at a time for a pack than ordering juice that way. So i picked vaping back up a few months ago and cut down to a couple a day. The other day I just made up my mind I wasn't gonna do it anymore, I had 1 ciggy left in the pack in case! I still got that one ciggy and am 4 days now. You are in control, you have the power, you do it when you're ready!

Every cig NOT smoked is an achievement. Have any of you tried vaping a higher mg strength juice to help curve the cravings? Give it a try...you might find that it will work. If not, smoking will eventually come to a stand still on it's own. If you need those couple of smokes, then do it but you will eventually not want them at all. Another thing may be the hardware that you are using just isn't as satisfying. Try upgrading to a better PV or go with a mod. Good luck to all of you and hang in there.

Superb advice!
