I am 4 weeks vaping on Thursday.. Pack a day at least.. Smoked Winston's at $6 a pack average.. That's $156 I would have WITHOUT A DOUBT spent.. I have spent $170 as of this minute, have no problems with my current setup, satisfied with the juices I currently have, and enough to last another week or so... I would say I am ahead of the game.. Should break even Thursday... After that, it's all gravy baby.
Money aside--- Damn I feel good..
I have realized over the last month many changes... No rumbling chest, better lung capacity, noticeable elevated mood, increased level of patience with 3.5 year old daughter and 2 month old boy.. And I think I vape less than I smoked.. Take that Phillip Morris/R.j. reynolds and all of your minions, you sons of .....es..

Heck no! But compared to what I spent trying to quit - Chandix, Zyban, pills, gum, plus the cigs. Gaining 25 lbs and the money I spent losing the weight- diet plan & gym membership. I could have checked into a resort in Hawaii and paid them to tape my mouth shut.
I haven't saved money, but it's SO worth it. No pain, no drama! Just delicious pinapple juice!

IT's like golf. you can play at the munny courses or you can pony up for a membership at an elite country club. or you can get ripped off by a travel agent ( poor quality ecigs at expensive prices)

I am defiantly not saving money. I have not smoked since '07 at least. But if I was still smoking, i would save money. At that time flavored cigs were not banned, and I smoked "sweet dreams" which were around 15 a pack and usually stale from the git go. So I would get about half a pack smoked before having to replace it the next week. I am mostly getting into vapping to save my friend from his smoking habit. I also miss the act of smoking. I could care less about the addictive crud in smokes, I just liked having something to puff while out freezing my .... off with all the other smokers at social events back in Anchorage.
I know I have this week alone. I spend $75 on analogs per week. I bought a kit and e juice for $60.
Well I spent about $450 so far on vaping and have been vaping for about 2 months. Used to spend about $120 a month on cigs. So its not to bad and I will be getting close to breaking even in about 6 weeks or so. I have enough juice to last me a while and I have an A2 repairable atty coming so no more $10 attys to replace every few weeks. I started with the Green Cig and sent it back but lost out on all the extra carts I bought but oh well. Moved up to a EGO T and that was a major improvement.
Looking into getting a VV when my EGO batteries die out so I will be spending some more for that eventually. I recommend to anyone to get a good repairable atty so you can save money there and with the A2 you can do a lot with it and its cheap to maintain and will last forever. Once my EGO batteries die and I get a VV I think my major purchases will be over with. Juice is rather cheap even if you don't make your own. I go through maybe 2 to 3 mills a day so I'm a light weight. Like most have said on here, you will spend more to begin with but you will save money in the long run. Like someone else said, How much is your health worth? Priceless.

I had a friend who introduced me to vaping and she was using a V2 cig and I liked the idea of it being the same size as a regular cig and thought I would not like something larger. But you will soon get past that. Don't even let that be an issue. Buy what you like and what works the best and stay away from those Blu Cigs and Green Smoke and all of them like that. They are a joke.
I'm usually the type of person that does his homework before buying something but I wanted to quit cigs so bad and I had no clue that any of this even existed so when she showed me her E cig I went online and looked around a bit and purchase the Green Smoke kit. After a few days of more research I realized I made a mistake so I used it for a week and sent it back. Then I found another site and did some reading and decided to get the EGO T. I like the EGO T but the attys were killing me. I tried everything to clean them and take them apart etc. but they just don't last. So for me the weak link was the atty.
Then I found this site and my head nearly exploded from all the information. I'm still a newbie but I'm learning. If your new to this, take your time and don't jump on something. Do your home work and read and read and read, and read some more. That will help reduce how much you spend up front.
I love it so far and it has helped me quit for the most part. I do have an analog once in a while but that is becoming less and less. Last time I bought a pack because the attys I had decided to crap out at the same time. That is another point, have extra everything on hand. Which is another reason for buying the A2. If it breaks you can fix it. Whats better than that?
Anyway that is my 2 cents. Thanks to all the helpful folks on here, I really appreciate it.

When I first started I got caught up in the "hobby" of the devices and probably spent more than I did smoking cigs. After awhile it balanced out, and sort of fluctuated depending on what mod was out to buy and what I was able to trade off. Now that I have all the gear and liquid I need and I don't vape as often as I did before, I am saving WAY more than I would have if I didn't start vaping in the first place.

I have saved a lot of money since I switched to e cigs a month ago. Was smoking 20 analogs a day And the price of analogs here in the UK have gone up to around £7.50 a pack. I'm vaping 1 to 1 and a half V2 carts a day. As its cheaper to buy in bulk, I purchased 80 carts for around £90 inc p&p, so it works out around £1.60 per day and my wallet loves me

I think this is mainly because I saw that "post your pv" thread and now I want to compete with them! lol...im a sad sad man.
I'm addicted to GG so absolutely no chance to save money... but I'm fine with that. Better addicted to a PV as to a analogue
I'm keeping a spread sheet this year to track my spending so far this year I am $58.69 in the good, I have one more Mod I want to get and a kick when they are available I'm set with carto's and atties for the year the only thing I should need is Nic and flavorings in a few months so I think I'll be saving about 3000 dollars this year smoking costed me $4380
Way "in the hole". It's gonna take me about 6 months to break even. At least I've found my perfect vape setup and stockpiled enough juice to last a loooong time. Now they need to quit coming up with cool new shiny stuff and i'll be golden.
Before I even got my first order in the mail, I decided I was going to make a Vaping access Database, and keep track of my costs and all of the vendors. I'm a geek (and proud of it) and so this was combining one old hobby with a fresh and shiny new one! What could be better?? I envisioned fdrop downs and rating systems, making my future buying much more analytic. But I became incredibly busy with a new job and fun family stuff going on, and now I'm scared to finish the database and enter all of my orders because I will have to face the amount I've spent.
And I'm still in juice beta testing mode. And I don't think I have enough cartomizers in case of an emergency. And I really really need to get an atomizer or two because I'm blowing through cartos too quickly. And now that you mention it, I totally need a back up mod, and since I already have one provari, it only makes sense that I get another one. I also think a kGo would be a nice little investment, and hey, they're reasonably priced. OMG...somebody stop me!

Spent a little over $1,900 on vaping the first year buying pretty much whatever I wanted. That's $1,200 less than I would have spent on analogs. Year two will be much cheaper!

I've definitely saved at least a $1000. Its coming up to 2 years of vaping now. My device purchases in that time have been an Ovale Ego-T, Vapage Vmod 1.0, Lavatube, and Parkes Vaping's Diamond. The Ego and Vmod lasted me awhile until I got the VV bug. When I got my LT, I knew that I was more a higher voltage vaper, until it broke >.< So I quickly got another mod to use for HV vaping, the diamond. Now... I want to get another VV device. So maybe I'll have to dip into that $1k saved
I'm not even considering the savings for the first year, since there is still much to learn, juices to discover, and different PV options to try. After the first year, I'll do some type of analysis to see if my new hobby/obsession is saving me any money. Not that I'll give it up if it isn't.
I tried e-cigs in Oct 2010..didn't get far and put that over priced RN4081 on the shelf. October 2011 I decided to try again and quit cigs. Back to that RN4081 (Super Mini) + I found carts for it Bought a Firelight (Micro mini) total waste of about $100 trying to keep the darned thing running. Then I hit a yo-yo at TW and bought the Titan 510 Tank full kit for $23.00 and ordered atty's etc for that. Atty's are long gone but the batteries still great. That one stopped the cigs on 12/5/2011. Ah yes the more power mode...bought a Tornado 1000 MaH pass through in Dec 2011(Yo-Yo Sale) and another one the end of January 2012 (Sale again) plus bought a Smok Tech 900 MaH kit on sale for $38 End of battery purchases for awhile. They're still running strong including that old RN4081 Super Mini Now it's just cartomizers and e-juice...which I finally narrowed down my fav juices and slowly cornering the best cart to the juice for flavor. Like some juices like Boge carts and some are great in CE2's and some in the Vision Extreme or Vision ego/stardust.
