I'll turn 40 next month. I started smoking at 15. Stopped at 32, started again 3 years later (dumbest thing I've ever done) and I've been smoking on and off since then (I would stop 3-6 months and start again for 6-12 months. Call me stupid).

I'm one of the people that can quit anytime I want to. I just don't get addicted to chemicals like most people. I smoked because I enjoyed smoking. So I'm probably the type that would be most likely to scoff at vaping - and I did for years. But after I started vaping, I loved it. Also my doctor is glad that I quit the stinky analogs. My kids are happy because I don't stink like an ashtray. Even though my kids don't smoke or vape, I had them sign up to freetovape and tell how they are happy that I quit smoking the analogs.

i'm 28, and i have the dumbest "smoking origin story" in the world.

i was raised by my grandparents, with a little bit of support from my mom. my grandma was a 2 pack a day for 50 years, and -- surprise! -- she got lung cancer. :-( well, granddad had already passed, and mom was way too busy, so i basically skipped school for a year to care for her. i started sneaking her cigarettes once she had grown too sick to smoke them but they were still in the house.

i was 12 or 13 at the time, so i've been a smoker for about 15 years now... damn, i feel old. :-/ now i have a little boy of my own, he will be 8 in august. he absolutely loves it when he sees me smoking my e-cig and makes his displeasure known whenever i light up an analog (which is happening less and less over time). i want to do better by him so that hopefully i won't pass down the family curse and he won't end up a smoker like his mom. i still have a few packs of analogs left, but once i blow through those i plan to stop purchasing analogs altogether.
