Smoked for 34 years, 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day. Started when I was 16, quit for 2 days one time, 10 years ago, it sucked. Loved to smoke, had no intentions of quitting, Loved my Virginia Slim light 120s. Just wanted to get people off my .... and not have to go outside so much. Got my first e cig Jan.15. Thanks to PS and JC and this forum. Quit analogs on April 24th. Unbelievable.

The good news is they haven't effected your memory! Funny, I can't remember the last time I even saw a cigarette machine. I guess they take Visa cards now. :p

Germany still has cigarette machines that are bolted to side of buildings. yes they do take credit cards and what looks like is some kind of prepaid cigarette card.

on subject I'm 52 had 1st cig around 11, daily smoking at 16, strange thing is kept it a secret till was 18 from family and friends. Swore to myself that would stop when reach a dollar a pack, that worked out well. Average pack and a half a day. some periods up to 3 packs some as low as 3/4 pack a day. Many years doing roll your owns. last straw was when the no name brand was smoking went from $18 to $30 in 2 weeks time. Saw a ad for Blu, did not trust the ad sounded too good. Did a search found this forum ended up getting a 401.

I'm pushing 50 and been smoking since I was 15.
The math is not that difficult but still hard to believe.
My kids will hit the floor when I tell them that I am down
to just a few smokes a day almost overnight. They were brainwashed at
an early age ( just say no ) and have been after me to quit for a long time. Not analog free yet but I am a work in progress.

When I stated analogs, they were 25 cents a pack (that's out of a cigarette machine, do they still have those????)

They do in Japan but they might not look like what you are used to.

Ours had pull knobs, a coin slot only, and no ID checker.

So tell me, how many years did you smoke before going digital?

30 years with a bit of time off for pregnancys and quitting cold turkey a few times! I could quite, but always went back to it (once after 3 years!) When I got my ecig, I cut down to 3-4 regular cigs a day for about 2 weeks. I was going to finish up the packs I had, but then thought screw it and tossed them. I have been smoke free for almost a week now and don't miss them a bit! Whoooo-Hooooo!

33 years mostly about a pack a day. Got my first e-cig in June and have had 20 "real" cigs since then. Now they just taste gross. I"m very careful to have an extra atty and charged batteries in my back pack all the time.

Never wanted to quit but like most NEEDED to quit. I've used my asthma inhaler twice since June. Amazing!
