I'm 32. I had my first cigarette at 14, but didnt really start "smoking" until I was 17. I was never a heavy smoker. In my hay day, I maybe went through a pack in 2-3 days. I started dipping in 2004, so my smoking habit went down considerably. I continued both until September of 2011 when I made the switch to ecigs. I had "quit" smoking several times, but always came back. I think I missed the ritual of it more than my body missed the nicotine. Quitting was never hard from a biological perspective....only the mental. I disliked the smell, taste, bad health, and stereotypes that came along with cigarettes, but damn, I really liked smoking them. Ecigs have taken away all of the negatives, preserved the ritual-ness of smoking, and actually improved the smell and taste! I cant believe it took me so long to find out about them. Damn you, tobacco lobby!!

I'm 45, started smoking when I was 15 (what is it about freshman year?), recently had high blood pressure issues, doctor put me on medication and lectured me about smoking of course. I've tried quitting several times, did the Zyban thing did the patches, gum, lozenges, hypnosis, you name it! Had a couple of friends who went to vaping, seemed like a great thing, it worked for them right? So when Vapage had their 2 for 1 deal at Xmas Hubby and I decided that this was the year we were going to quit so we both got a Vmod 2.0. So far so good, we started this Dec 24, have slipped a few times but haven't actually broke down and bought more that a couple of packs during the transition period. Still have crazy cravings occasionally but can usually get past them. I think once I find that perfect flavor I'll be good to go, just haven't found it yet.
