I don't dislike a Provari. From what I have seen they are a real nice unit.
I just get a big laugh out of guys that think it's the only way to go.

Until a particular .. eh-hum thread was started, I have never publicly voiced my opinion regarding the Provari. The truth is, I knew what a Provari was before I knew what an Ego battery was, and my God's honest opinion of it then, and now is that it's ugly .. maybe that is too harsh (albeit true), for me, it is not attractive enough that I would pay $200 for it. And if I ever drop $200 on a singular device, it will be on a mechanical mod.

I do not like the cone shaped head, I do not like the overly done divets in the body, I do not like the fabricated coating (whatever it is), and the one aesthetic feature that I dislike the most are the two flat head screws above, and below the display ... that one is a head scratcher to me, because its so unrefined looking, for a supposedly refined device.

I get that the biggest selling point (I hope) of the Provari is the reputed quality of function, and durability. But every single device I have ever seen mounted on the Provari looks WRONG, and awkwardly mis-matched to me ... although the new beauty rings are an improvement. :)

Quite frankly, I find most APV's to be on the unattractive side in terms of aesthetics, regardless of cost. When I wanted to "try" my first APV I bought a brushed SS Vamo. While I love brushed stainless steel finish (with a passion), I dont' like the silly looking "face" of the Vamo, so I don't really use that any more either, except to build, and check my rba/rda's on. The SVD, and the Zmax are the only somewhat, aesthetically appealing APV's, IMO ... but I am over APV's for daily use anyways, I am officially a mech lover.

Out here in BFE, I have a "ProVari Posse", yep, I TOTALLY blow their minds when I whip out my polished extended ProVari with my Kayfun LT. They are awestruck with it's awesomeness, they worship the ground I walk on, they wait breathlessly for me to appear every morning, my shiny piece of magnificence held firmly in my hand. They mourned the loss of my PT2 when my ProVari fell from the tractor and disappeared under the rear tire *sniff*, one poor soul even threw themself into the open grave of the PT2.......
Yes, it's hard to dismiss the attraction and the mass groupies my ProVari has garnered me. My status on the elite scale has rocketted, I am SOOOO the ROCK STAR!!!!!!

Oh, one of my adoring posse members:

But, then again, it could be just the grain bucket causing all the fuss....:?:

That's just as obnoxious as saying Provari owners buy them solely because of the price or status. :p

Not at all, Provari owners buy them because of a long proven track record....
Last Spring I bought a cute little purple Vision Spinner. I was all yay pretty colors. Not long after I bought it, the button wouldn't turn off after I was done pressing it. That stupid battery did it 2 more times before I finally tossed it in the trash.

When I first started vaping 4 1/2 years ago my first mod was a Provape1........I used that thing for almost 2 years, button was as rock solid as the first day I received it.... That's why we buy quality mods.......There is a difference for the most part as described above...My friend who is to cheap to buy a Provari or any other higher end mod has replaced her Ego Twists over and over as they all have button issues eventually... I rest my case...

It's not always about being cheap. Like I said in the other post, some people like myself have a preference for devices that aren't large. I don't find them comfortable to hold in my small hands. Plus I find them to look ugly. I'd rather spend more money in the long term on something that looks nice and feels nice in my hand over something that will function correctly and last forever. And there's nothing wrong with that. Plus like I said earlier in this post, most people can afford a Provari if they truly want one. It might take a while to save, but they can afford it eventually. If Provari users are happy with their purchase, awesome. Others are content to keep buying Ego Twists. What's important is being healthy. Any device can accomplish that.

I bet you own an iMac

This whole thread reeks of the Mac vs PC and Android vs iOS debates that plague the interwebs on an astronomical scale.

It's my personal opinion (opinion being the important word here) that, as with the Mac vs PC arguments, debating such issues is pointless. You cant really debate subjective things such as this - personal preference is what's going to rule outright. What works for some, doesn't for others. So somebody has a Provari. That doesn't make them stuck up or superior, it just means that they like the product and it works for them. I have an MVP, who cares?! It's personal preference. I liked and still like the product.

C'mon guys, enough of this now. I fear it could give a rather negative impression to the newer members (which I am one of) - it's not the friendliest of threads and thus, when reading this, the forum doesn't look like the friendliest of places to be. And in retrospect, shouldn't all Vapers be happy about an ever-expanding community and understanding of e-cigs and Vaping?

Just my two cents, is all.

love of cheap is noble, talking about others is week.

Only if you talk behind their backs!!!
I tell my friend she is a cheapskate to her face every time she tells me another Twist has broken... Believe me she makes plenty of money but for some reason thinks $200.00 for a Provari/ext cap cost to much... What the??? I bought her 2 Ego Twist/ego charger/5 Joye 510 atomizers as a start up 1/2 years ago to get her off cigarettes... I don't know but she has had at least 10 of them in that time frame and continues to pour money down the drain with replacements....I don't get it....put out some $$$ one time and be done with it for awhile.....

Let me give you another example:
Years ago I had a big yard, lots of tress with lots of leaves. So I bought a cheap gas blower for around $50.. I used the thing 2-3 times a week and after 6-7months the thing ran like crap and was falling apart. I finally bit the bullet and bought a $200 blower with a Kawasaki engine.... 5 years latter it was still running strong.. So put that love of cheap is noble in your pipe and smoke on it for awhile....

Have you considered that this may simply be an excuse and that the real reason she doesn't have a Provari is because she's worried that someone who sees it in her purse and doesn't know what it is might think it's used on some other manner?

Better that than a guy pulling one out of his pocket/briefcase, lol. I mean, you pull one of them things out and then slide a battery in........
