And here we go yet again.

Can't we all just agree that whatever works for the individual in question is great. Aren't we all here to stop smoking and save ourselves?

Actually, please keep it up. I enjoy reading all the hate posted by people who laugh at the ProVari owners. They enjoy taking a crack at us because we like our devices and are so fanboy about it. But the haters are so fanboy about their hate that it really is the same thing, just flipped 180. SO the haters really do the same thing but because they hate it is OK.

Very true.... And for that $160 I can't vape a thing. Because I need batteries, a charger, a delivery system...etc...etc..It add's up. The minimum I charted a ProVari with appropriate charger, batteries and such was the 219.00 they charge for the starter kit. And for that I get one PV and one ProTank 2.

For $45.00 and some juice I can start vaping my MVP'2 out of the box. I could buy 5 MVP 2's with 5 I-Clear 30's for $225.00. I could use each MVP 2 for two days but it on a charger and rest it for 8 and charge each unit once every 10 days. I would only be using each one for 1 day out of 5, so my wear and tear on the units goes down as well.

Even if I calculated my charge cycles 33% lower than what is rated for the LiPo battery installed, (200 charges) that still equates to 2000 days or nearly 5 and 1/2 years. And that's based on a full level of discharge. Of course the installed LiPo will lose about 10% capacity per year like any LiIon, so by the end of my 5 years, my MVP's would only hold about 1300 mAh, or the same equivalent charge as a brand new high capacity 18350's. So in 5 years I go from the equivalent of 18650's to 18350's and with the MVP's USB pass through I can vape while charging so 1300 mAh on an MVP isn't the same as swapping out batteries.

I've never argued the build quality of the ProVari. In my opinion it is second to none. But after the warranty period, a single repair for a ProVari is 75% the cost of a new MVP. It's not the build quality I have an issue with, it's the fact that a ProVari requires a nearly 5 year return of investment when compared to my MVP's.

That's a pretty long time. Now, when you look back when ProVape started, someone who purchased a ProVape product in 2010, they have gotten their return of investment rather quickly. I used to wash an 8080KRD regularly when I started vaping in 2010. (I relapsed and went back to cigs for several years). At $20 a battery, I went through $100 in batteries alone pretty quickly. A ProVape 1 or ProVari would have been a no brainer back in 2010. I could have made back my investment in less than a year AND have unbelivable vape quality at the same time.

2014 is completely different. The ProVari hasn't changed. It's still great. But everyone else has stepped up their game. Who would have "thunk it" that in 2013, I could get a 2600 mAh VV/VW all in one package like the MVP2 for less than $45.00? Add to that, the fact that the vape quality of a mod like an MVP is so close to that of a ProVari, that many ProVari users use MVP's as their backups or out and about vapes means the vape quality gap has narrowed significantly in 4 years. The ProVari quality is still there, but the quality of it's competitors has lengthened my ROI from 1 year to 5 years. And thats a simple truth.

so the MVP works for you,,,,,that's great.

I have one,,,,,,,my first died and had to be replaced,,,,,,,my second is starting to hold less of a charge 3 or 4 months after I bought the thing,,,,,,,

yeah, I could buy 5 MVPs for the price I paid for my Provari and batts, etc,,,,,,

but when the 5 MVPs are broken,,,,,,,,,,my Provari will still be going strong.

Again, there's nothing wrong with the MVP,,,,,,but I vape a LOT,,,,,,14ml a day,,,,I need a tank, and the MVP just doesn't quite cut it FOR ME,,,,,,,,,,,for others,,it's perfect.

I honestly don't believe you. You post this all time, but I just don't buy it. Sorry.

That you killed an MVP in that short of time. That the battery only lasts 5 hours. I'm sorry, but I just don't buy it. How long does a 1600 mah 18650 last? A half hour? How many batteries are you rotating? 10?

My first MVP just broke,,,,,,,,,,,101 vape replaced it,,,,,,,the second one is starting to hold a charge less,,,,,,,,since I have to charge 2x a day, that makes sense,,,,,,,,,

if you get 2 days out of the batt and only have to charge every 2 days, yeah, the thing will last 2 years,,,,,

as for 5 hours it just depends if I'm busy or not,,I do not work outside the home at the present time, so I'm vaping pretty constantly, I take long pulls, and I hammer that button to be honest,,,,,,,

but again, I really don't care what you believe,,,,,,there's no way to prove it to you anyway,,,,,,,

So I'm new to vaping.. I started with an ego and a pt3 which works quite well for me.. I like how it works and the hit is pretty nice so I got another as a spare.. All this talk about Provari's seems a bit over the top really. I appreciate that it is US made though.. and studying it online.. you can see it is a quality device.

It just looks so big.. I watched some reviews on youtube and that is one hefty device.

Is there anything of comparable quality with a smaller form factor?

I like the size of the ego.. it fits my hand and pocket very well.. but I do want to try a vv device to see how that tastes.

I don't care what it costs, but to get quality does it have to be so big?

they do seem big when you're first starting :)

Have you thought about an ego twist or a vision spinner? I just bought a 1300 mah spinner on EBAY for 21 bucks for my daughter :)

How did it "just break?" Of the thousands that are out there, I'm not hearing many stories about them "just breaking." You get 4 hours out of an 18490, but 5 out of an MVP? Hmm. You're the only person out of the thousands sold. That's just strange. Bad luck I guess. What wattage do you vape at? I've heard of people pushing 40-50 watts that only get 2 hours out of an 18650, but nothing like 5 hours at 11 watts out of a 2600 mah battery.

no clue, I prefer volts,,,,,I generally vape a 2.1 ohm dual coil head at 4 volts.

I use AW batteries now, and I think they might last a bit longer than the MVP batteries,,,,,,,,,AND I said I get 4-5 hours out of an 1100mah 18490,,,,,,,,and I ALSO said I CAN KILL an MVP battery in 5 hours,,,,,,,,not that it happened every single time,,,,,,,,occasionally, I go 8 hours or so,,,,,,

it really just depends on how busy I am, what I'm doing,,,,,,,,

geez.

I'm not going to say that I don't believe you, however if your second MVP is already losing it's charge due to your heavy vaping profile, you must be going through 18xxx's like candy. The MVP uses a standard LiPo battery pack and it's charge/discharge profile is going to be the same as any 18xxx's. So even though the ProVari is still going strong, you still must be going through batteries like a mad man.

In your example, you get your ROI rather quickly, but you have to admit a 14ml a day vape, is not typical. For my vaping profile (2ml to 3ml a day) my ROI is going to be much longer than yours.

And if your profile is as extreme as you mention, then by all means, a "disposable" battery unit isn't for you. Anyone who wipes through LiIon batteries that quickly needs to replace them.

But my initial point stands. Going through 5 to 10 KR8080D's in a year back in 2010 was not unhead of, which made forking out $200.00 for a ProVari much easier. Your profile not withstanding, for a good portion of the vapers out there, the quality of products out there now, makes a ProVari ROI extend out to several years vs 1 year. It's something to keep in mind.
