It's not always a fart

Believe I can tolerate anyone's vaping leftovers than the passing of gas!:D

Some folks gets a kick out of that in public, will never, ever forget, my dad with his back turned towards an elderly couple who weren't regulars at a small restaurant, pointed a finger as though pulling the trigger towards his buddy, and let a long one loose while laughing his .... off.o_O

I walked straight out the door. It was dark, so could see inside. The couple took a long hard look at him, got up & walked out, leaving a $20 bill on the table.

Then my dad wondered aloud 'why did they leave all of that good food uneaten?':D

I guess what am trying to say is that depending on situation, we should have morals, be it farting, vaping or anywhere in between, we all should respect the rights of others. What my dad did above was gross, sickening, disrespectful, embarrassing to me & his friends totally uncalled for, one can imagine other choice terms for his behaviour. Needless to say, the manager had a private discussion with him upon his next visit.:(

Where there's 'No Smoking' signs around, I don't vape in these areas, and when going into one's home, will always ask if it's OK. When not, I have no issue, will step outdoors to indulge, when so, don't make a spectacle of myself over it. Unless on rare occasion, there's several in the home that does, then may make a cloud or two. Yet I'm not really into clouds, a smooth vape is far more satisfying to me.

Any 'rules' should be limited towards the specific place where vaping is allowed. In an ideal World where everyone respects one another and abides by local law, these shouldn't be needed.:)

One or a couple of clowns causes us more harm than the 25 or more who does the right thing.

Too true this in every practice.
Even when it’s just the Lone Ranger, he’ll be remembered for the 1 bad thing as opposed to the hundreds of good.

You think I ever let my mum forget the one time that my white polo neck came out of the wash green? :-x

I don’t care how many times it was flawless washing/laundry!

Um... be grateful you had a mom who washed your laundry. Mine did not, from a very young age, LOL.

I think the kiddo is pretty grateful about the "tasks" I completed as he grew up, especially now he's doing it all himself. He still comes over once a week and does his laundry. He does have a touch of cleaning OCD, but I don't remember him ever complaining about that kind of stuff.

Of course, I have never "greened" up a white shirt, either. LOL.

Your dad sounds like he's a sociopath when it comes to breaking wind. The true flatulent sophisticate knows the only acceptable form of breaking wind publicly is silent but deadly crop dusting. Any uncouth knob can crack off a biscuit in public (some even making it seem more impressive by amplifying it off a car's quarter panel or bleacher seat) but to operate with the stealth of a ninja and lay waste an area with a noxious nebula and then sit back and watch the unsuspecting public walk into a death cloud and see that look of utter horror on their face normally reserved for the discovery of a gruesome murder...that's the sign of a true master. The grand master is even able to project the blame for the offensive odor on an unsuspecting friend. Yeah.

Oh, he's a sociopath in more ways than one, way too many to list here, yet one more notable at the same establishment. In the presence of at least a dozen regulars there (most seen it), along with a few weren't who did, dug a long booger (no, that's not a typo!:D) out of his nostril and casually flipped it towards the window, where it stuck.

Thank goodness, I wasn't sitting at the table, yet it really grossed some folks out. I recall nearly choking on my tea, was in the mist of drink when it happened & grabbed a napkin fast. He & his buddy, thought it to be funny & couldn't conceal their laughing, so hard he ended crying at the same time, as did his friend (whom by chance was no friend of mine).

Needless to say, we weren't that close as a family (he & I). We just happened to be working at the same corporation, the same shift (2nd), although in different departments & his friends & mine were two totally separate groups. I wasn't living at home at the time & hadn't for a couple of years. The restaurant was only one of two that was open 24 hours at the time & the only one not took over by truckers, roughly 15-20 of us went there to wind down after work. Of course, I took a bit of ribbing over him at first, although quickly let it be known that what he does was his work of art & I seen his actions as common.

It wouldn't be long after these incidents that I stopped going there (found a better job), and we parted ways. That was in the mid 80's. This is 2018. I've not seen my dad (or sperm donor) since, yet have heard a lot about him over the years. At near 80 years old, sounds like he's still thriving well at his game, last I heard, he cleared a jam packed floor at the local Golden Corral steak buffet big time with an equally aged woman (not my mom, they split not long after our fallout) only this time, in silent mode. Yet true to his nature, he (& his companion) were snickering like kids, she fell on the floor.:D

Oddly, they weren't asked to leave. With over a hundred patrons there & over 300 most every day total, surely the business weren't that cash strapped. Maybe they didn't want to get sued for hearsay, although hard to make that claim with so many there.

Three different parties who didn't know one another, including the man who turned me on to vaping, was there. While he didn't know my dad, his wife did because she did the payroll where he & I once worked, he'd be the first to inform me. Within a week, I'd hear the same from two others. What I didn't get & finally had to tell most, don't bother calling me with this crap, I have self-respect & for others, he & I aren't on the same page when it comes to anything. My grandmother (his mom) raised me, if he were to had done that in her presence, would had got whacked with anything within her reach.

And to think, at 14-15 years old, one day he told me that I need to learn to be 'civilized'. If there's a place on this planet where those acts are custom of the land, want to be warned in advance.:p

His friends didn't name him 'Wolfman' for nothing, the title was earned.:D

Seen as the vaping phenomenon has spread among the most disparate and different type of people, I think it doesn't make sense anymore to refer to a "vaping community".
The tide turned against sensible and morigerate vapers who where grateful to life for having had the precious opportunity of being able to get rid of the smoking habit - which had proved literally impossible with other means - when high power vaping become mainstream.
I am mostly a tootle puffer, but it doesn't matter much anymore. I feel like a stranger in a strange world when somebody, from a hundred yards, starts coughing upon seeing my vape; or cross the road when they realise I have an e-cigarette.
Without a second tought, knowledge and science have been bent and became servants - whereas they should have been leaders - in the running millions-dollars war between vape and smoke.
O tempora, o Mores...
