When I vape PG I cough my head off and have to find the trusty inhalers. I ordered some PG/VG juice from madvapes last night because the PG/VG juice doesn't make me cough. A little side note my order is already on its way.

I'm right there with you on this one and really didn't notice until I used PG after a week of VG or PG/VG.

I just don't think I do good with PG

I took my e-cig with me to my last checkup and my doctor who said 'that's not going to hurt you'.

There has been a lot of discussion here about glycerin derived from vegetable V glycerin derived from animal fat ~ and that we want to stick with vegetable based. Could your doctor be assuming you're using a liquid made from animal fat?

Bottom line.... Get a second opinion!

I would experiment with making sure I used only VG for a week or two. Then make sure I use juices with only PG for a week or two. See if there is a difference. You might have an allergy to one or both. Could be something all together different.

Don't screw around, get pro-active. See a second doctor. Experiement!
Sometimes, just the act to doing something makes things better. But sitting on your rump worrying will make things worse, or at least seem worse.

Now go do something.

I've done this. When I first started vapping, I noticed that I had shortness of breath, phelgm in the back of the throat, the roof of my mouth would burn and my tongue broke out in blisters.

Long story short, I switched to VG and have had no problems. Yesterday, for sh** and giggles, I vapped a PG liquid and had the same symptoms as before.

Now I know that I'm allergic to PG as far a vapping is concerned and use only VG.

Just a side note on the whole pg/vg debate. I thought I was having problems with pg. I switched to vg and the trouble stopped. I had also switched to dripping because I'm lazy. Getting ready for a road trip my son cleaned and filled some carts for me. He was very careful to clean the poly well and filled them with vg only. When I used them I had all the symptoms I had originally blamed on pg. I switched back to dripping symptoms disappeared. I decided to try dripping pg and experienced none of the trouble I had before. The only conclusion I can come to from this is for me anyway, the poly-fill was causing my problems not the juices themselves.

He was pretty knowledgeable in that he knew about the FDA studies and their retraction that they are “as bad as cigs”, said to avoid oils in flavors, knew the difference between PG & VG, do your best to drop nic levels when you can , etc.

Can you point me in the direction of this FDA retraction? I haven't seen it yet but would love to.

I have been having shortness of breath just this week for the last few days. I have a ridiculous old timey "warm morning" heater and I keep smelling burnt air from that, plus being couped up in the house. I have also been vaping a lot more from just setting around more. Not to bring everybody down, but lets face it, if you've been smoking for 25 to 30 years before you went to vaping, you could have lung problems that came from the analogs. My friends dad smoked many many years, got copd and quitsmoking altogether. He still died from lung cancer about 10 years later. I still think ecigs are less dangerous and will continue on that course until I feel I am ready to ween off the ecig.

I haven't read thru all the posts to this thread but i am experiencing the same thing. I to have asthma and its not bad, it only really acts up when i am sick.

I smoked for about 15 yrs, i started vaping for about 7 months now. Well last week i started weezing. i am not sick at all ( no cold, no chest cold, nothing ) and i am pretty much using every asthma med i have at the moment ( 3 different inhalers, 1 pill and my nebulizer ) and i still cannot get rid of it.

I am starting to think that since this is a "vapor" and not smoke, that isn't moisture getting into are lungs? water? which is fluid so to speak....and isnt fluid in the lungs BAD?

I am going to make a appt with my Dr next week but ever since i started wheezing for no reason at all i started to wonder about this. I am a heavy vapor ( only 12mg though ) but all these vapor has to turn to water or fluid in the lung i would assume? right?

I cannot for the life of me understand why i am wheezing and the only thing i can think of is that the vapor is causing some sort of fluid build up in the lungs.

As much as I want to believe everything in that report - we can't forget it was funded by Ruyan. I have a hard time putting too much faith in that report in the same way I'd have a hard time putting too much faith in a study that was funded by any of the big tobacco companies.

Of course that's always the dilemma with serious research - it's hard to find someone willing to fund a study that has no direct interest in the outcome.
