One day I'll research rebuildable atomizers, but for now I don't think I'm quite ready. Small steps..lol

yea understandable. just don't buy too much stuff early on because once you try building, you'll never go back to the older stuff lol. there's tons of tutorials on youtube for building atomizers.

It has gone off on a bit of a tangent since I originally said I was looking for the "best" PV and the answer to that is pretty unanimous - either a Provari or a REO, which is pretty much dependant on whether you'd be content vaping one flavour all day or not.

Then I decided (based on advice in this thread) I'd start a bit smaller (and lower cost) and aim for something which comfortably fits in my pocket for a night out.

When I eventually upgrade to a REO or Provari I'll just use the vision spinner/iTaste for taking out and leave the expensive mod for home use only.

Everything looks perfect except get an atomizer to test new juices- unlike a tank very easy to clean if the juice is "yucky". As for the Vision Vivi Nova get the Mini Vivi Nova as size wise it fits much better on the Spinner. Same with ProTank. Sorry but have to go for dinner...don't forget juice.

So...after reading around more and having a think I've almost decided!! Please guys, some last opinions on the following...then I'm ready to order :)

Battery
Either:

-Vision spinner 650mah (92mm)
-Innokin iTaste VV 3.0 (99 or 108mm?)

iTaste VV V3.0 Express Kit - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin The innokin site says 108.5mm but further down says 99mm?

This decision is really difficult, since I've read great reviews about both, but I know the itaste will be a better PV and it also has VW.

If I want to connect a Kanger EVOD to the itaste, it will need an adapter too? I assume this would increase its overall length?

Tank
Some of the following, I would like to try a couple:

Kanger Protank 2
Kanger EVOD
Vision Vivi Nova V2.5

Cartomizers
I haven't researched these much but would also like to try them...please suggest some others if these aren't the ones to go for.

Kanger 510 LR - Kanger 510 Low Resistance (5) [VE225] - £6.49 : Vape Escape
Kanger 510 - Kanger 510 Standard Resistance (5) [VE261] - £6.49 : Vape Escape

Atomizers
Do I need these?

Charger
Ego/Riva charger like this Ego/Riva USB Charger [VE144] - £4.75 : Vape Escape (not needed for iTaste)

Any other parts/tools I need?
Not a clue!

I don't think I've ever read so much around products and still felt like I knew next to nothing

One last push in the right direction..and I'm there!

Thanks again everyone

Thanks Vapoor,

So for tanks I'll get a Vivi Nova Mini and either an EVOD or Protank mini 2 (it's pretty long, the protank mini 2!)

Sorry, I thought cartomizers were to test new juices...I have read about all the different types of tanks but am clearly a bit slow...

Please can you recommend an atomizer?

Edit: Hold on...are all atomizers the rebuildable kind? (that I'm probably not ready for yet!)

Thanks :)

Yes. If you get the Mini Protank IIv2 the long drip tip can be replaced with a shorty, but overall it's still longer than the Evod. On the other hand, it's glass, and glass has some advantages. :)

Looks to me like everything you've put on your list would be good.

Yes a Vision Mini Nova and a Protank 2 Mini. Evod I hear both good and bad about it- I haven't used it. Prolly easiest clearo to start with is the Vivi Nova.
Just an ordinary 510 threaded atomizer- about 2.0- 2.4 ohms. All they are is an element (sometimes with a metal bridge/ wick over the element) inside a metal tube that screws on to the battery. They are non rebuldable and will last a long time. You can also drip using them but that's for later. RBAs are all about dripping but for your use it will just be to test juices before committing a tank to it- harder to clean a tank. Atomizer/ atty you just burn the excess juice off.
Best of Luck.

I'm in the hunt for juices too. I've taken to filling an eVod clearo with whatever juice I'm tasting and vaping it all - which for me takes about a full day if I vape it exclusively. I find that my "take" on the juice sometimes changes over the course of the tank. I did find one that I hated at the start of the tank - and I only hated it slightly less at the end, but the rest I've found more like-able toward the end. I've only found one so far that I've really liked from start to finish.

Anyway, my point is that if you've already paid for the juice, it's not a bad idea to vape at least a tank of it before chucking it to the side. (Well, at least unless it is so bad it makes your eyes water or something...) I've currently got 4 eVod tanks, each with a different juice. To me, it's not that hard to clean an eVod tank, especially if you've got others to fall back on. Plus, I think my coils will probably last longer if they're cleaned (I dry burn each time) fairly often.

If you're mainly going to use a tank when vaping, don't you want to know what a juice tastes like in a tank (as opposed to in an atomizer) anyway? I'm playing around with dripping, but most of the time I'd rather just screw on a clearo and vape rather than drip, clean, vape, drip, vape, drip, vape, clean, drip, vape, clean, etc.

Plus, the drip atomizer still has to be cleaned out between flavors, unless you don't mind mixing the flavors. Mixing flavors is OK, but if you're "tasting" the juice, it sorta defeats the purpose.

Just my take. (I'll probably get flamed for saying that.)

I just measured my wife's itaste vv v3.0 and it's 108mm. Also, you will not need an adapter to use an evod on a itaste or a spinner as they have ego cone threads as well as the 510 connection, so really, anything should fit it.
IMO there's no reason to buy an atty just to test juices in. they'll taste a bit different in a tank, so it kind of defeats the purpose. If you get something bottom coil (protank, evod, etc..) just pit a little bit in the tank first and try it. You can always dump it back into the bottle.
You're really gonna have to just try different things to find out what you like as far as atomizers/clearos/cartos.. I started with an MT3 (basically the predecessor to the evod) and an auto switch ego battery, later on bought an ego-c passthough, a cheap rebuildable dripper, then a cheap carto tank over the course of about three months. I found out i did NOT like cartomizers and cartotanks, loved the flavor of drippers and loved the convenience of BCC tanks. Lots of people love vivi-novas and mech mods, but i personally don't.
a good starting point is the itaste or the spinner. you'll be happy with either, but i PERSONALLY would get the itaste. starting small is the way to go. It makes the later stages in vaping far more enjoyable.

I recently decided to jump into e-cigs on a lark, and quit smoking analogs that very night (after finishing the remnants of the pack I still possessed). It's been two weeks now and I have no desire to ever go back. I took a drag off a friend's cigarette the other day out of sheer morbid curiousity and it was nasty, I can't believe I was ever stuck on those things.

Anyway, I'm running with a 1300mah Ego battery (no fancy twist or anything) and a Smoktech Pyrex Aro tank and it's working out quite well for me thus far. I had a Tumbler (also from Smoktech) tank prior to that, but it developed leaking issues despite generally performing satisfactorily otherwise.

I like the pyrex tank because it is easy to keep clean and doesn't hold on to flavors which is handy if you have different juice flavors that don't jive well. Also the bottom coil design seems to perform more consistently than a top coil because the coil is always submerged in your e-liquid and you don't have to fidget with the tank to keep the wicks saturated (I experimented briefly with a top-coil tank in between the Tumbler and the Pyrex Aro).

At any rate, good luck in your quest and congratulations on giving up the analogs. Although I don't have the disposable income for something like a Provari, I have been amazed at how much I enjoy vaping over smoking. I was a pack a day smoker for about 15 years, so dropping them overnight was not something I could have imagined possible in my wildest dreams (I experimented with cold turkey several times, all of which were spectacular failures).

Also, yay for first posts!

Here's an atomizer:
510 Standard Resistance Atomiser [VE9] - £4.49 : Vape Escape
And a drip tip for it:
Full Selection- as long as you get 510:
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Drip-Tips/
Here's an aluminum Drip Tip:
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Drip-Tips/Aluminium-Whistle-Drip-Tips.html

Sorry, I thought cartomizers were to test new juices...I have read about all the different types of tanks but am clearly a bit slow...
No cartomizers have filler in them so if a juice is yucky it's near impossible to clean:
Cartomizer/ Carto- metal tube with stuffing/ filler and element. Holds anywhere form 1- 4 ml of juice. Carto filler is fully saturated and must be occasionally refilled when juice runs out.

Edit: Hold on...are all atomizers the rebuildable kind? (that I'm probably not ready for yet!)
The atomizer/ atty that I linked above is disposal but if only used to test juices will last a long time. The rebuildable atomizers/ attys are known as RBA's and have a steep learning curve.
Don't forget to use a discount code.

lol guys, I promise that in a while I'll get a Provari or REO for using at home..but for now I'd like something that I won't notice in my pocket when I'm out (and won't break the bank if I lose it).

Master Obi Wan ;) this first purchase will be my regular vape for probably a month until I bite the bullet and get a REO/Provari. Then it will become my "kick around" as you call it, just for taking out.

I also feel that if I pulled out a REO in a smoking area outside a club/bar people would think I'm nuts! The e-cig market in the UK is nothing like it is in the US, it's still a very small minority who vape over smoking.

I use my mods out in public all the time, and 95% of the time no one pays any attention to me. The few that might and ask what it is, they are generally interested to learn more about it: how does it work, how much did it cost, where can they get one, etc. I've yet to see another vapor out in public in my city, other than in the local vape shop.

I use either a Mini Provari, an MVP, or a Vmod (Reo-like bottom feeder mod) when out of the house. All three are durable mods that fit easily in my front pants pocket when I'm not vaping. All three can be used at least 8 hours with a single battery. I usually carry a spare in a plastic battery case just in case I need to change batteries with the Provari or Vmod. The MVP has a built-in battery which can last up to 3 days on a charge. The last pic is a Smoktech Gripper, a mechanical mod which I use primarily for stealth vaping at the cinema.
