If you go with a "eGo" style battery, you might consider the Kanger Mini Protank 2 instead of the Protank 2 for your glass clearomizer. Mainly because it is the same diameter as eGo batteries.

Also, if you're going with either of the Protanks, you might consider the Kanger EVOD as your regular clearomizer, as they share the same replacement heads/coils. (I dunno about you, but I don't like the idea of carrying a glass tank of e-liquid around in my front pants pocket; breakage would be disastrous.)

FWIW, I selected a Kanger EVOD starter kit (I'm a newbie) plus a couple of additional tanks as my beginner's rig and have no regrets. I was a 1/2 pack-a-day smoker and a single battery lasts me a full day, so i always have a fully charged spare. I've just ordered a Kanger VV 650 (keeping relatively compact in form is important to me) mostly to try out dripping, but having 3 batteries is not a bad thing, imo. Also ordered a spare charger and a Mini PT2 (to try some citrus and cinnamon flavors), so I now have backups for everything.

Let us all know what you choose!

lol guys, I promise that in a while I'll get a Provari or REO for using at home..but for now I'd like something that I won't notice in my pocket when I'm out (and won't break the bank if I lose it).

Master Obi Wan ;) this first purchase will be my regular vape for probably a month until I bite the bullet and get a REO/Provari. Then it will become my "kick around" as you call it, just for taking out.

I also feel that if I pulled out a REO in a smoking area outside a club/bar people would think I'm nuts! The e-cig market in the UK is nothing like it is in the US, it's still a very small minority who vape over smoking.

The EVOD was my step up from gas station junk. Two weeks later a ProVari. Two weeks after that a Reo.

You too will be strong with the Force one day. :vapor:

No matter what you vape, I fear you run the risk of the timid looking at you funny. Personally, I don't let that factor into my decision making process. But then, I am highly extroverted and don't give an iota of what other people think of me. right or wrong. Everyone is different. :)

My gas station ciggy just let some juice out the tip and into my mouth...they really are terrible.

You have both a REO and a Provari...lol...at least after reading about these things for hours I (think I) understand why. The apprentice is learning ;)

I don't own a Reo, yet. If you are interested in my searching on the subject, have a look at what Baditude (and many others) have to say in this post...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/475041-question-provari-illuminati.html

I ordered one. I am a convert and won't look back. Currently planning the purchase of a second ProVari for myself and one for my son. It has to be experienced to be believed and "juice mouth" bleeeeccccccchhhhhhhhhh... I SO feel you on that unpleasantness.

I don't vape that much, mostly in the evenings so charging every day for me is no issue. I'd like something a bit more compact than an MVP for keeping in my pocket when I'm out. Phone in one pocket, wallet and e cig in the other...an MVP might be a bit of a squeeze!

It seems you're really set on a smaller PV that's pocket friendly. Realize the Spinner comes in diff sizes-400 mah all the way up to 1300 mah. A 650 mah might do you quite fine. 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before needing recharge. Here's a U.S. site that shows the sizes of the diff Spinners:
VISION Spinner eGo VV : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Uk Ecig Cabin should be getting them in this week.
Is the Spinner a Provari, Reo or iTaste????? no but it will impress you and, more importantly, give you an idea of the power of VV.
You may also want to consider a lanyard or a belt holder to carry your PV. Realize, when walking around, the weak point with ANY PV is where the juice delivery system (holds and vaporizes the juice) connects to the battery...very easy to mess up the threads if the PV is in your pocket when you sit down or move the wrong way.
Best of Luck.

Lots of good options given, and for what it's worth, I would suggest an ITazte SVD as an alternative to the Provari, if you want a solid VV/VW that you will be using primarily at home, as this mod can be pretty big. I have used the Vamo V3 in both 18650 and 18350, and the 350 mode is pretty solid and not very big with a smaller tank on top. If you are looking for a good mechanical mod that is small in size, the Astro has become one of my favorite pocket mods, and with a Protank on top, you won't be adding to much height on a 350 battery, which will last you well over a hundred puffs. One thing to remember is to also get a quality battery that can keep up with your vaping.

Is your avatar a piece of Bode' artwork? Loved his cartoons. Cheech Wizard was great.

I will throw in the suggestion.. though it's been touched on a bit already.. of an itaste vv v3.0 and something like a protank II or mini protank II. It's vv/vw, lasts me about 6 hours or my wife 2 days (i vape kind of a lot..) and it cost about 40 bucks. It's passthrough as well, so you can vape it while it charges. It'll get you introduced to vv and vw in a very sleek, inexpensive little package. If you only use it for two weeks before you upgrade to something bigger, no big deal. keep it as a backup, give it away, whatever.. It was only 40 bucks, but i would bet you'll really like it. it's gotten tons of good reviews. The protank II has pretty damn good as well and isn't too pricey either. Drippers IMO give the BEST flavor, but are pretty fiddly.. you can try your hand at rebuilding some protank heads and if that turns out to be your thing, go for a dripper atty or maybe even a genesis style atty (though those are usually considered fairly advanced).

You really can't go wrong with the itaste vv as a first setup.. it's a good introduction and will help you decide from first hand experience what you REALLY want in a pv. Could turn out the itaste will be your everyday vape..

I carry Evods and Mini Protanks in my front pants pocket all the time. I've made durable cases for them, including:

A mint tin lined with foam (this requires that tank & battery be separate while in the tin)
A hard plastic cigar sleeve (with holes drilled in it-- if there aren't holes it will squeeze the juice out of the tank when closing)
A hard case made for carrying eyeglasses (swapped the mini protank's drip tip for a shorty)

Ok...I can't just choose one so put all the recommended batteries and tanks in a spreadsheet...lol

The variable wattage batteries seem pretty chunky, except the Innokin iTaste V3. I'm not sure if I need VW though?

One thing I've realised is that all of them are a lot larger than I thought, especially the tanks - 64mm! Should just about fit in my pocket when I'm out and about...

Tanks - I'll probably get a Protank 2, but maybe a Smoktech DCT...at least I've (almost) chosen one part so far.

I can't guarantee the accuracy of my web searches but they should be close enough.

This spreadsheet is a bit sad, I know :p

Any final opinions on any of these products?

I personally have the silver eGo C Twist battery with a protank2. Looks classy and I love it... but I think the next battery I buy is going to be a Vision spinner....

I've thought about getting a plastic cigar sleeve to carry around a mounted Mini PT2. Can you explain what you mean you say "it will squeeze the juice out of the tank when closing"?

Plastic cigar tubes are designed to be as airtight as possible-- it preserves cigar freshness. As you push the cap on, air is forced out of the tube. As you pull the cap off, the tube pops as air is sucked into the space.

If you were to put an Evod or Protank in the tube and push the cap on, air would be forced down into the tank (even as most is being pushed out of the tube) and juice would flow out (through the vent hole in the coil head). To prevent this, you must first vent the cigar tube by drilling holes in it.

I forsaw this problem and drilled a hole in my tube. But the first time I made the mistake of drilling only one hole. When I accidentally covered that hole while closing the tube, I was proved right about the yucky mess I had sought to prevent. :p That's why I would recommend more than one hole. No more problem. :2cool:

So...after reading around more and having a think I've almost decided!! Please guys, some last opinions on the following...then I'm ready to order :)

Battery
Either:

-Vision spinner 650mah (92mm)
-Innokin iTaste VV 3.0 (99 or 108mm?)

iTaste VV V3.0 Express Kit - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin The innokin site says 108.5mm but further down says 99mm?

This decision is really difficult, since I've read great reviews about both, but I know the itaste will be a better PV and it also has VW.

If I want to connect a Kanger EVOD to the itaste, it will need an adapter too? I assume this would increase its overall length?

Tank
Some of the following, I would like to try a couple:

Kanger Protank 2
Kanger EVOD
Vision Vivi Nova V2.5

Cartomizers
I haven't researched these much but would also like to try them...please suggest some others if these aren't the ones to go for.

Kanger 510 LR - Kanger 510 Low Resistance (5) [VE225] - £6.49 : Vape Escape
Kanger 510 - Kanger 510 Standard Resistance (5) [VE261] - £6.49 : Vape Escape

Atomizers
Do I need these?

Charger
Ego/Riva charger like this Ego/Riva USB Charger [VE144] - £4.75 : Vape Escape (not needed for iTaste)

Any other parts/tools I need?
Not a clue!

I don't think I've ever read so much around products and still felt like I knew next to nothing

One last push in the right direction..and I'm there!

Thanks again everyone
