I use my mods out in public all the time, and 95% of the time no one pays any attention to me. The few that might and ask what it is, they are generally interested to learn more about it: how does it work, how much did it cost, where can they get one, etc. I've yet to see another vapor out in public in my city, other than in the local vape shop.

I use either a Mini Provari, an MVP, or a Vmod (Reo-like bottom feeder mod) when out of the house. All three are durable mods that fit easily in my front pants pocket when I'm not vaping. All three can be used at least 8 hours with a single battery. I usually carry a spare in a plastic battery case just in case I need to change batteries with the Provari or Vmod. The MVP has a built-in battery which can last up to 3 days on a charge. The last pic is a Smoktech Gripper, a mechanical mod which I use primarily for stealth vaping at the cinema.

Wow! That Vmod looks like the PERFECT size for a pocket. A few quick questions, Baditude:

Do you miss VV on it?

Are there any problems with leakage with the Vmod (or any other bottom feeder generally)? For example, you pump some juice in, take a couple of hits and you gotta run so you put it back in your pants pocket. Is there any chance that the juice will leak out of the tip or otherwise?

Is it much of a hassle to switch juices?

(Sorry Flavourful - don't mean to hijack your thread.)

This was and is my first bottom feeder mod, so there was a learning curve involved in learning to "squonk" properly. The technique can vary depending upon the box mod. With this one you tilt it sideways, allow some juice to fill the drip well that's located just below the cone, turn it right side up, and then squonk. At first I was afraid of squonking too much and flood the atty, but then I was getting dry hits which are not pleasant. Eventually I learned to be more aggressive.

The top cone attachment is responsible for keeping the entire unit assembled, and also provides some protection to the drip atty from any physical abuse. If not hand tightened snug, it can allow a little leakage to occur on the inside of the mod. There's no chance of leakage from the atomizer itself; excess juice runs back down into the drip well and into the tank via gravity. I can get several hits from one squonk. It fits safely in a shirt or front pants pocket, never had any leaks. The 18650 IMR battery sometimes can last me up to 2 days on this.

It is a slightly troublesome process to change juices. To get to the 9 ml size tank, one must completely disassemble the VMod, unscrew the original tank, and then either refill it or exchange it with another. The entire process only takes 3 - 4 minutes, but its certainly not as fast as switching out from one cartotank to another on other mods.

If you use the right resistance atomizer of your preference, you likely won't miss variable voltage. The only issue I have, and its a minor one just because I can be lazy, is the inconvenience to change tanks to change to a different flavor. There are customized body shells available; below is the simulated wood grain shell I have with a Sagewood Glass pyrex tip.

So, not to derail....but....help a nub out here

What is Squonking again? Oh never mind! if I would have just RTFM or watched the video; I could have extrapolated squonking as the "tip upside down and squeeze the bottle" atty prime maneuver?

Thanks for the info, Baditute!

I thought your Vmod was the baby, not the XL, given the proportions in the pic. That's a pretty huge tank, so I guess you really have to be settled on your all-day-vapes before you move up to one of these things, huh? I'm still searching, so the Vmod may be a bit premature for me. After watching the vid, switching out the tank doesn't seem too bad to me. Guess the only thing is that you have to deal with the flavor mix for awhile.

What atty do you use?

Still, it - or its little brother - looks perfect to me for running around town.

I think it's the "squeeze" that's the "squonk". :D

Here's what I bought!! Everything was dispatched today :D

Batteries/Charger
Innokin ITaste VV/VW 3.0 (battery and charger only - £28 from vapour room!)
Joyetech eGo-C 650 Battery (Dual voltage, only 75mm, so good for taking out or a spare)
Ego charger

Tanks
Protank 2
Protank 2 Mini
2 x Evod

Atomizers
3 x Standard resistance 510
510 Drip tip

And now the fun part...it took me around 3 hours of reading to come up with this list of samples. Overall, I read very good things about 3 e liquid brands that are available from UK suppliers - Alchemists Cupboard (AC), Grizwalds and Halo.

Maybe a little over the top for my first order, but I really wanted to try Alchemists Cupboard and Halo, and their smallest sample packs were 5 x 10ml and 6 x 7ml.

Samples
Egg Custard Tart 10ml - AC
Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream 10ml - AC
Coconut Caramel with Hazelnut Honey 10ml - AC
Lemon Meringue Pie 10ml - AC
Aunty Flo's Pear Drops 10ml - AC
Menthol ICE 7ml - Halo
Kringle's Curse 7ml - Halo
Belgian Cocoa 7ml - Halo
Mystic Menthol 7ml - Halo
Midnight Apple 7ml - Halo
Malibu 7ml - Halo
GY4 5ml - Grizwald
Black cat 5ml - Grizwald
Arctic Cherry 5ml - Grizwald

115ml total with 14 different flavours

Thank you all for your help in making some very difficult decisions!

Hi Flavorful.
Realize the Protank 2 is quite large and may not look very good on the eGo and Innokin ITaste VV/VW 3.0. Don't forget a 510 atomizer- 2.0- 2.4 ohms- easier to clean when testing new juices- well worth buying it cuz it's a PITA to clean tanks and wick of yucky juice.

And now the fun part...it took me around 3 hours of reading to come up with this list of samples.
With that kinds time spent you deserve vaping in heaven juices. My first 2 orders of juices was 50 diff ones.

Ahhh..i meant atomizers, not cartomizers (will edit post). I got the ones you recommended:

510 Standard Resistance Atomiser [VE9] - £4.49 : Vape Escape

Vaping in heaven eh? Link please ;) I googled it and got a few results.

50 different juices...puts my 14 into perspective!

Sorry I meant literally you should be in vaping heaven with all the DD and research you've done.
You'd be surprised at how many new vapers buy full bottles of juice only to find they hate them.

My Experience:
Best to buy samples to find your likes and dislikes. When I first began vaping I bought 30 wide ranging samples. Out of those 30 I liked 10. Immediately ordered another 20 and out of those I liked 10…so out 50 different flavors I enjoyed 20. Months later I tried those 30 samples that I disliked and enjoyed all but one. Whether it was because my tastes had changed or they needed steeping I don’t know. Realize also "same name" juices will vary greatly in taste from vendor to vendor as they all have diff recipes and order ingredients from diff Suppliers.

I had a skim through that when researching juices, but didn't find it much use. There should be a thread titled "List your 3 all time favourite juices"... And stickied :p

I suppose the quest to find the juice for you is one everyone needs to go on, but a thread like that would be really helpful for new vapers looking to get some great flavours (in the opinion of experienced vapers).

Prolly the worst and toughest part of vaping is finding the right juice. I HATED menthol analogs but LOVED menthol in my juice. You can buy menthol drops or menthol crystals (mix with PG) and add to your fave juice. Add to that our tastes change and sometimes everything will be flowing ever so smoothly until we no longer like our ADV/ all day vape and then we're on the "hunt" again. Just remeber to frink lottsa water as dehydration really messes with the taste buds.

I will certainly be looking into DIY. First I need to figure out what kind of flavours I like :)

I don't even know how I'm going to begin with 14 flavours, 3 tanks and an atomizer!

Well when I first began after smoking analogs for 44 yrs and waiting for the Dr. to give me some bad analog/ health related news I was just happy to be stinkie free...flavors were just a bonus. Be careful with "acidic" juices in the Evod. I think it's plastic and they sometimes eat the tank to shreds. BRB with a list.

Edit:
Here's the list:
