Great thread---I am glad I joined the scene post caveman era vaping when I was in love with my prefilled cartomizers and took 3 weeks to select which rechargeable cig-a like I was going to go with. I remember my first resurrector and box mod. I remember when I thought it was ok to change batteries every 3 hours

I also remember when Scottbee proved to the vaping world that eGo batteries only delivered 3.2v... under load.
That was a revelation to all of us at the time.
Still an interesting read--after all those years.

I think I'm in that thread somewhere with my 1st username. Thanks for posting. Now i'll have to go through the entire thread until I find a username that sounds familiar :p That'd be so cool if I could figure out my old username and see how much I've changed.

Yeah I remember trying to make a carto spinner out of a sock and elastics and I kept failing miserably. Juice got all over everything. I remember saying "Really? This guy thinks Lanyards are going to be the next big thing in vaping?" lol. I love Leaford. I remember when the entire extent of my collection was 2 510 batteries (yetti batteries) and two atomizers that tasted like saw dust because I had both of them in my pocket when we fell a tree in my backyard. Those attys made all my juice taste like a campfire for like 6 months lol. I remember buying 15ml of juice every friday from RockyMountainVapor because everyone told me "If you must vape cheap juice, use RockyMountainVapor" lol. What the heck? That juice was watered down PG and it was terrible. But I used it for years. :p Them and Vaporbomb<3

Please tell me what your user name used to be... :)

I used to read that thread religiously even though I couldn't tell an ohm from an amp then... I learned so much here.

The bag itself was used instead of the filler inside 510 cartridges. The factory filler never lasted very long so the tea bags were used.

Yeah, had to cut them into squares and do some careful folding into 3/16" inch wide or so layers, fold in two and trim to fit. Lots of fun. Never tried the straw or blue foam mods. Just tea bags and Hiping mods and then moved on to cartomizers.

I remember a couple guys fitting all their gear with RCA connectors for quick changes.
Yes, the PVMA mod. I think I still have a couple of those. I remember running plastic tubing from my bottle into a hole in my drip tip (which was a 510 cart with the stuffing pulled out) somebody building a screwdriver mod from an actual power screwdriver, so of course I had to make one too. I remember spending almost a year trying to make a mod out of a wizard stick, trying to use RC glow plugs as attys and buying hundreds of attys and gallons of nic base in case the FDA got the ban they were after. Wound up being off the forum for a few years cause man I was set for hardware. What a shock to come back and discover RBAs and VV/VW!

I remember trying the teabag cart mod a couple times, never did get that too work very good at all. I don't think the fish tank filter worked all that great either IIRC.

ah! that's because we we're hanging out in the wrong part of the fish tank! the air stone is where it's at!

BTW - Back then, if a Thread had more than 20 Replies, they called it a "Hot Thread". LOL

poor zoid! his memory is starting to fail him! even back then this thread was hopping! ;)

and members sacrificed untold numbers of cartos to take pics of those threaded brown spots!

Co-ops were rarely heard of either. I think we were all too scared to deal with chinese suppliers...now look at us. Here a co-op, there a co-op, everwhere a co-op.............

shame on you, hairball! co-ops were alive and well in pif long before j0ker's forum! and truman out of china had me sitting on my living room floor counting thousands of condoms because our carto order came unassembled!

Very fun thread. I came in as the blue foam was dying.

I really got into the home made carto tank thing, and I do still sometimes use them. I've mostly switched over to protank, but I have my little syringe carto tanks, and still have a box of 20 ml syringes in the garage.

My first real ecig was a go-go, and they had a bit of a different type of cartomizer. You could pull out the filler and dry burn them, then try to wedge the filler back in. I never really got the hang of that, but spent many frustrating hours trying to get it to work.

When I started, the clearos sucked (at least the ones I tried), now I love the protank.

I remember dormouse. She was very helpful to me when I first joined. Answered so many of my stupid noob questions.
