I got my Screwdriver in early 2010 in a BOGO sale. I think it was $120 for 2. It was my 1st and only mod to date. Still use it today:D. Have yet to try a variable voltage mod:(

March 1, 2010 I ordered a BOGO pair. Paypal, $72.93. One used for a few weeks until I learned how much the bottom button killed my little finger. The other never used. (And I'm too lazy/disorganized to put them on the classifieds.)

Need to post pics of the old containers I'm sorting through - full of original carto blister packs (never used cause they SUCKED), little ziplocks of cut-up straws, all sorts of filler materials, rubber cartridge caps, stuff for doing Leaford's Taryn spin, .......ized atomizers, adapters for days...

Love to see the pics! Would be a cool thread too. "Show us your antique vape gear!"

I remember when a box mod was a pile of crap.

Apparently I qualify as an "old guy" here with a member number of 5224, of course I was only on the forum for about a week in 2009 before going back to analogs and forgetting about E-cigs. All the new equipment available today makes quitting so easy, I am three weeks analog free but it might as well be 3 centuries.

I remember a surprising amount of the stuff mentioned in this thread (when I jump in to something I really study) I still even have my 901 somewhere, buried in a box.

Yep I remember all those things too. In fact I remember with the 510 first came out, I still have some someplace. I still use 510 atomizers and the blue foam mod quite often. I bought a boatload of them because I thought that any minute they were going to shut us all down. I also bought a gallon of 48mg nic base and all kinds of flavorings.

I remember building my first VV box mod using a pot, that was well before they were on the market too.

I also remember struggling through the days when nothing seemed to taste right and I just couldn't get the hit I was looking for no matter what I did.

I also remember when the GLV first came out with 5 volts I still have one of them some place too and a megalodon that I use all the time it's one of the stainless steel prototypes. I think he only made something like five of them.

Remember the clearomizer with the little rubber syringe kit thing, they leaked something terrible but gave a nice hit?

It's funny but I went full circle through all the new stuff and now I'm pretty much back to old school vaping just now with a big battery. Still vaping swedish fish/cinnamon 50/50. Flavoring from vapor-renu.

I remember when Not/cigs was the best place around and Madvapes was about the only place to get your parts for mods.

I'm a little new to be adding my two cents on this thread but since I've had a lot of sleepless nights I've literally read hundreds of posts in hundreds of threads for the handful I've posted the last few days in comparison...first time I've ever watched something grow like this, even if it's online, it makes me think...

I read all of these post and its inspiring and leaves me in awe...as I try and be more active and help the many new vapors that come after me every day and myself very new. But it just seems so crazy how fast things come out these days even in the past few months I've been vaping...I remember looking at some of these things you're describing with complete doubt and skeptiscim and doubt thinking "that would never work for me" and now I am grateful for everyone who stuck with it threw the past few years because I say now that "its the only thing in 18 years that is working for me." I say thank you and it is crazy because even in the last few months I've watched new things come out every week. I can say to the guy that started yesterday what it was like before the Pro Tank or I tell people I am trying to buy up the last of the "Go-Go" stuff I can find before it is gone and they don't know what I am talking about....in a few years it seems like you guys have created a multi-generational culture that just now the rest of us are finally catching on to. So what does that make us? "Generation Janty" Gen 4081" "Gen 510 (I like that one cause it rhymes :D)" "Gen CE-2/4" " Gen Vi-Vi" "Gen Pro tank?" "Gen Evod"? Gen flavor of the week? because like the first post said about when this and that came out...it seems like every week that is happening now. I can't help but wonder what this thread would look like in ten years to people...when the first generations that can't remember life before the internet and the smart phone are taking there place in the world and some of them are starting to run it and the people that wrote most of this threat are the trailblazers of this, how are we going to sound then? The vet's on here now will be the one's that invented the wheel and fire and I guess im somewhere between stone knifes and copper spears...how are these things going to look then? Just something to think about? With the "new improved" mods and "hybrid batteries" and the "china vs. america" made cold war and the fda ever looming over us right now, how's this "I remember when" going to look when the E-cigarette is 20 years old instead of ten....and thank you everyone who suffered threw the first ten years to give us this "golden age" of tanks and mods we have now to make life easy :) Thank you and happy vaping and cheers to all of you :toast:

One thing I remember well and miss a lot is the VV box mod revolution. The Monkeyboxx VV was near impossible to acquire and would cost you $300 on the classys. The Phidias, the Bogger Box, the Red Sky mods. Then, finally, the VV REO Woodvil. those were the good old days. i look at the classys now and I don't recognize more than 10% of what people are selling. It's great technology and it is evolving each day.

Good times.

Great thread DC2! I think I got in at a good time after most of the early equipment problems. Thanks to Princess Nomad videos I upgraded quickly from my first e-cig, the M401. I remember MAP tanks were a bust for me because of wicking issues. I remember having the kitchen table covered with everything in my arsenal, pulling my hair out, only to discover I needed to pull my pin . I still have the gooseneck pictured earlier! To all the old timers who blazed the trail, THANK YOU!

I'm sure I got mine during that same sale, Poeia. Good to know I didn't spend as much as I thought. I think I remember now it was $60 for 1, so with BOGO + shipping your price sounds right on. Of course, we still had to buy the batteries... Screwdrivers definitely aren't for pockets, but I kinda like that big ol' button:D

Awesome!!!!! I think...

I can hardly see them. We need close ups, Mr. DeMille.

If (IF) I were to start a thread with the idea of showing off "retro" vape gear, would any of you be in? Would ya post pics? We'd have to limit "retro" to being prior to 2013... sound like an idea who's time has come?

If not, please say nothing. You'll shatter my fragile ego... ;)
