And THANK YOU for starting this forum and keeping it going. Do you realize that you almost singlehandedly made vaping "a thing"? I'm being serious--back in late 2007/early 2008 I was scouring the Internet for all information I could find about the "e-smoking," and there was very, very little out there. There were only a handful of sites, and this one seemed to be the only one with any real activity on it. So it seems to me that you personally deserve a humongous share of the credit for spreading the word about vaping and growing the market for it. So THANK YOU again!
I wholeheartedly agree! Not only that he started this forum, but that he ran it with the determination to make it make a difference, to be run the right way.

Good eye - "It fires by just resting your finger on it"...:)

That's what the yellow thing in my banner is, not sure if I still have it. Thought I deleted that banner too... hmm... I didn't love the switch cause I would forget to keep simultaneous contact with the metal. Never used it in anything but passthru mode. It was a great vape for the time. was rockin it with a homemade carto tank. Hilarious!

Ok, @Mistaree - I'll give it a go. :)

This first one, I'm really not at all sure. Were I to venture a guess, which I suppose I'm doing, might it be a Super T?

Thanks Langdell.

Well, the reason I started ECF was because there was no information about vaping. I couldn't believe it - this amazing invention and no-one talking about it!

Anyway - ECF will be 10 years old this December. Can't quite believe it!

And, vapeyjoe! No! Dammit, I never even liked the word "vaping".

Thanks, Oliver! I remember you too now that I realize you are really SmokeyJoe! :) (Did you ever consider making it "VapeyJoe"?) And THANK YOU for starting this forum and keeping it going. I didn't at first, but I do now. :) Thank you, Robino!

I know back in the day you were looking for a better name....

Nothing else really seems right. Now that you've had years to think about it, what would you have decided on if not vaping?

And history was made! I want to dub you the Father of Vaping, but I am hesitant since you don't like the word.

Robin, I have no answer to that. Vaping it is :)

Well, O.K. then. The Father of Vaping you are!

I remember buying my first 510 on a trip to London you had a choice of flavors tobacco or menthol they didn't have a nicotine strength. It wasn't long the extended 510 with a little more battery life. When the Silver Bullet came we thought how could it get better. I never totally quit analogs until the RDA to me that is the biggest advancement for us 2+ pad guys.

Some other things I remember is, struggling along with vaping for over a year until I found this forum, with out it I may have given up. Vaping in public and getting all the questions of "what I was doing, how it worked, was it legal, and could they try it". Yea I heard "it's just a fad that will fade away shortly". Mind you I live in a city at that time was the site of Phillip Morris's largest rolling an wrapping facility (they closed, I out lasted them). So that meant you got plenty of evil stares also, because for over 25 years big tobacco was their employer. I remember figuring out where the extra $300 a month in my pocket was coming from. I've read alot of post in this thread and you can see how vaping have changed so many lives for the better for making the switch.

Nor did I. The first time I saw it/heard it, I tilted my head big time. I continued for the longest time to call it an e-cig (or e-cigarette) until such time as it no longer pleased me to associate vape with a cig.

I gave in. I caved! I said the word: VAPING! (I'm sorry but the similarity to a criminal sexual act just rubbed me the wrong way.) But I adjusted, as I'm sure we all did. Now, it's second nature. :)

So, VapeyOliver suit ya?

I was similar to you. I messed with a black device similar to a cigarette. I dripped liquid on to a foam pad. It fired when I drew in and battery life was such that I got USB powered device. It all just didn't work for me. I went back to cigarettes but kept looking at the vaporizers on line. Some how I found the ECF, bit the bullet and bought a Provari. With the advice from members here, I got the whole thing down and have been cigarette free for a long time.
The Provari still works after very close to four years and my daughter uses it today. I am now a REO fan but if not for ECF, Provari and a Kanger tank, I'd still be a smoker.

Love seeing Oliver, Langdell , and rob33 participating in this thread. Really gives meaning to "back in the day".

This was my first "real mod", believe it or not I still have it and it still works just fine. I bought that at ENS at the end of 2010-beginning of 2011 (not sure of exactly when)
    P1000863_zpsc9hvseko.jpg

And yes, that's the mod that fell out of the duck blind & spent a week at the bottom of Ogden Bay.

    add:
And things haven't changed all that much.
This is my ADV these days.

Your signature started me thinking a while back. It changed my entire approach and shortly, I found what I liked and haven't changed for a long time. I am now saving all that money that I thought I would save when I started.
Thanks, I have been meaning to say something for a while.

I think that still hods true, however vendors don't like that idea. ;)

I thought it prudent to replace a few batteries (they were AW batteries with black sticker) last Christmas. Other than that I haven't needed to spend a red penny to vape for several years.
(I did buy a few "close out" products)
