I remember back in the day...

So why don't some of us old-timers reminisce a little bit about how it used to be....

What do you all remember?

I remember way back, laying on the edge of the shore, having used my flippers to make my way a short bit out of the primordial thinking, "That land where it's not wet looks nice. One day, I hope I can breathe up there and grow some legs and walk around in the sunshine. Then one day, my people will invent a device that lets me inhale blueberry Red Bull" I'm not sure, it may be a genetic memory because I can't remember remember doing that but its in there somewhere. I do remember the delicious Chicago deep pizza pizza I ate yesterday.

Geez, I hate when that happens.

back in 08' i remember what an awful leaky mess my 510's were, constantly refilling them, mouth fulls of juice, experimenting with different types of wicks (straws, aquarium filters), finally giving up after a few months because i hated them so much and still smoked while using them. finally got around to looking into them again a yr ago and quit smoking instantly.

I remember when RBA's were just a pipe dream of legend and wishful thinkers, mechanical mods were something that was cobbled together from home depot parts and sourced flashlight parts. A sealed 510 connector was a dream come true for most of us at that time and to imagine a 18650 battery being used to vape was insanely over powered.
I recall the Blu basic kit costing 300 bucks and that came with 1 extra 650mAh battery and some sort of funky charging unit that worked maybe half the time. The eGo T-tank system was still in design phase and wasn't to be released for a while yet ( it was a year later that it was released).
There was 2 companies to choose from, Johnson Creek juices were considered top of the line and they had just started up as a new company.

I recall pulling apart a Blu carto and re soldiering the connections to get some extra millage out of them seeing as they were 7 to 8 bucks a piece. Re filling them was tricky at best and required a prayer and bachelors in science to pull it off. When I started Provari was just a dream in someone's head (it seems they haven't really advanced in technology from back then either). ECF was a new community and the forums then were filled with ways to clean your cartomizer and debridge the 308 atomizer at the time, lol.

If your wondering about my Join date on ECF I was a lurker for a long, long time before joining the community..and I can stand proud and say that I'm glad I did :)

I think you meant to say 306 atomizer. ;)

Johnson Creek - their sample pack and a Joye 510 proved to be the combo that allowed me to kick the cigarettes for good 5 years ago.
Never oredered another juice from them but I must give credit where its due.

I remember when vaping at 6 volts was considered insane...a guy on the forum suggested I try a 1.5 carto at 5 volts, and I loved it...everybody else on the thread thought he was a lunatic...we both caught a load of heat, but he just told me to ignore them....sub ohming was not even considered....
I remember when scubabatdan shot his first video of making a wick out of an aquarium stone,I was hooked and hung out with a bunch of guys on the thread for about a year trying to perfect vaping with ceramics.eventually the fc-2000 came out, but we kept pushing for a better wick...which we found.

I remember in 2011 when this was my first post and question on these forums

"Hello all,

Recently I made the purchase of the Njoy NPRO starter kit (19.99) and I am very pleased with it. However I have been searching around and wanted to waste money and buy some different stuff so I had a question.

If I bought an adapter that allowed me to use either a 510 or a 901 battery with my 4081 cartomizers would I need to buy a new charger for the new battery? Or will my Njoy NPRO charger work if I have an adapter to 4081 on a new battery?

I hope I asked this correctly.

Thanks"

Wow is all I have to say.

lol, yes 306 atomizer...I hate going down memory lane I pulled out my 306, the 306 to 510 adaptor and the cherry vapes glass drip tip last night to give it a go. Its what I remember but pales in to comparison really except flavor. Direct coil atomization still can't be beat for flavor :)

^ omg0sh... heheh; hi Wayne!

Well I remember when my first Reo metal came along (called "mini" now i think)... it was first run, and I vaguely, i think I was learning about bottom feeding on some little plastic box gizmo... I forgot what it was called; anyone?
There was a "Carlos juice box" i think... never tried one though.

Anyway it was first run (f'5 wars)... missed out as usual per Reo first runs, and someone pm'd and said "do you want mine?"... of course I got it and never waited for something so fervently. It was black with a gold door! :2cool:
He had told me NOT to tell ANYONE he was selling.
And I remember not wanting to post because someone might say "hey! how did you get one before me?
You weren't on the list!" or "hey buddy you should have sold it to me!..." Lol.

Well for some reason I couldn't get it going... doh.
I called the member, emailed and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about.

I tell you one thing, I couldn't post this >>>:vapor: until until I got an LR 1.5 ohms 306 atty :) from Cisco no doubt, and freaking wow thats hot!
