Much as I like my MVP, I don't think the integral battery models are going to eliminate other power sources. There's too much tooling already in place, and too many options already out there to just go away.
But I do think they serve a useful purpose. Many (myself included) don't necessarily see themselves vaping forever (Heh, I'm still on the fence!), but as a path and tool to cessation. So why go with the $100 tubes, plus batteries, plus charger, if an integrated battery model can provide the same utility, without the likelihood of being able to use it for the next year? They may be non-smokers and non-vapers in that time.
Devices like the MVP, the Groove, heck, even the Spinners and Twists, can provide enough power for a good vape (when matched with the right resistances), and could last a year -- which might be all they're looking at.
Take over? No, I don't think so.
Take a good chunk of the non-hobbyist? Maybe
