Congrats Repent, congrats to you and Ace. Look forward to your thoughts on the new Multiatty.

Hey Ace my friend how's it going? Yep, I can vouch for you. About as straight up and down as they come. I laughed at your list when I read it. I have pretty much the same gear. 300 yards of .236, .13, .16, .20 Kanthal and also some .16 nichrome. Huge spool of FG 1/16" wick as well as the xc-116. Also still have a huge sheet of the SS mesh. I liked the xc-116 and the .20 wire the best out of all the setups I tried. And the o-rings. LOL, don't get me started on those. Had to order all 13 sizes needed for iAtty, UFS, GGTS from McMaster Car and they only came in 100 packs.

So Imeo, so far I know of myself and Ace as testers for the Mulitiatty. Who are the other two?

Come on now Wing, you know they have to come through Ohio before heading to the desert.

Don't you worry on our obvious attempts to get in on the fun. I know I've got a UFS on the way to keep me busy until the MultiAtty's release and I do believe Fright has one on the way as well. But it sure would be nice if a couple more prototypes accidentally get made and shipped to southwestern states.

Oh yeah, what Fright said.

Hi! everyone

any one else experiencing extreme tightness of the bottom plastic with the steel base?

the bottom plastic that came with my iatty installed hand tight fine the 1st time, used it for a while, but when i was dismantling it, i had to use pliers to get it off, i bought a new bottom plastic at COV, when i compared it the new one, old one became fatter.

i also installed the new one and it installed just fine hand tight. i will be testing this one to see if it will become fat too.

a couple of us are experiencing this.

Well I have experienced that the bottom plastic and the SS metal base will get tight together. This was due to me making sure they are tight together to avoid leaks. Not so tight that there was the threat of stripping threads, hand tight only.

If you run into that again, try to make doubly sure that the wire is not getting caught up in the threads and when you take them apart, use a rubber "gripper" like the kind used to open stuck lids on jars. They cost only $1 a piece and are very helpful in doing this I can tell you from experience.

You should only need to use pliers to take them apart if you used pliers to put them together, which of course you would not.

The rubber grippers also cushion your fingers and you can put alot more hand strength into the process because of this.

my wires are clear of the threads, i think my old bottom plastic just got fat, i compared both old and new. anyways i try get one of those rubber grippers. if its available here in the P.I.

btw do you have a picture of that gripper?

thanks

follow the link here: Can Opener for an idea of what they look like.

Check your local kitchen store. Bound to have them there. It only seems like the bottom plastic has swelled. Not really anyway it can. It's non-porous (AFAIK) and there is no heat applied there.

+1 on the rubber gripper :) I use it to get the tank separated from the bottom connector part, it's super tight on the o-ring, but I like it that way (no leaks). The bottom plastic gets tight if you cross thread one of the threads even if there is no wire caught up, but I have never had much trouble getting it off without the gripper.

Huhu, you don't know me yet, I'm a Vaper from Switzerland.
I am familiar with the german self repairable Atomizers Bulli A1/A2 and Phantom V21. So, I know and appreciate the huge advantage of self repairables.
But - the Iatty opened a complete new world, it's just amazing!

Sorry if I'm a little offtopic, just wanted to tell you these my 5 cents.... ;-)

Thank you dspin. You as well would have been as excellent choice. I am grateful to have this opportunity. I know many of the early IAtty adopters, including yourself, were running it through its paces like we were beta testers. It seemed like everyday I would log on and there would be something new I would just HAVE to order so I could try it out. The inside oring joke with me and Repent still gets me to LOL. We both together own about 25,000 orings.

Congrats Repent, congrats to you and Ace. Look forward to your thoughts on the new Multiatty.

25,000 O-rings between you. Now that is really something. If I lose my UFS top cap O- ring, I know who to ask. Anyway, I'm so glad Imeo picks normal regular GG owner/users to actually test these things out instead of having ALL professional reviewers. You guys will tell him what you really think too.

Glad to see your reviewing, I should edit my post to say not all Professional reviewers. Its good to have regular people doing it too. I do watch yours Scott.

Scott is actually a "professional" reviewer, not an amateur, fanboy reviewer. He's the only one I watch anymore.
