I've looked around a bit, & I'm not finding the answer to my dilemma.

Which adapters/rethreaders do I need to make the iAtty sit flush with the top cap on my SS GGTS?

I bought all of my GG products second hand over the last few weeks, so maybe I'm missing some of the adapters/rethreaders to make this possible?

Links so the specific adapters/rethreaders would be great!

Thank you. :)

If you really want to use the top cap I got the 510 to 901 and 901 to 510 adapters from madvapes and they sit flush on my SS and Nickel on alum it sits about 2 mm above the cap. However it does scratch the top cap

I had to take about 2mm off my 901 - 510 adapter to get it to sit flush using those adapters on my SSGGTS, but It looks great and tightens up with a perfect seal. When I close the air ring there is absolutely no air flow. It was quick and easu. I put the adapter on a drill to spin it and used a dremel grinder to take the metal off. It came out square and flat and I was able to chamfer the sharp edges off easily.

Ok, newbie question. I am working my way through this thread, currently on post #841 since last night but my question is where is a good place to get the Non-Resistance wire and what is the best kind to get?(direct links to the actual wire or a site name and exact type would be great)

  • I found a good Ebay source for the Resistance heating wire, Kanthal A-1 32 awg 75ft.
  • For the wick, I will just get from COV as that seems the only place to get the CE2 wick, otherwise I know the 1/16 from the Wickstore was the original type used.
  • For the orings, I got that document that is out there listing the sizes, thanks Repent :)

But I just can't seem to find yet a definitive place for the Non-Resistance wire as well as what type (size\dimenstion wise) what material is best to use (Nickel, Silver, etc.)

Oh and so far it seems the best way to build the wick and wire is to build the wire by itself and then lay the wick on top of it? Is this still the case?

Sorry for the questions as I am sure it is somewhere in this thread but I'll keep trucking along to get through it and try to find it.

Thanks

COV has the NR wire ED

Thank you buddy, I am around post #1881 so almost done. I found plenty of alternatives and where to get bulk non resistance wire too.

Now my only new issue is I really think it would be a nice setup with the iAtty with a Steel GGTS but so far I have not had any good luck with any 3.7 v mechanical PV's as I get no TH(throat hit) even using Low Resistance attys with my 24mg PG juice and 6 volts is too much :( It's a shame too as it really looks like a great device, but I did read that eventually a VV attachment or add on is coming out for the GGTS, so that might be an option for me so that means I would need to get one anyway right?:) I am just not sure if it would work with the version being sold by COV (Stainless Steel) and when it is coming out?

So many questions :) but thank you for the help

VV will work with any previous and current GGTS model ED. So better to buy a GGTS while is in stock because when VV will come to market I will run out of GGTS for sure.:)

I had a feeling you might say that :), I am wondering if when I start making coils for the iAtty if this might still give me TH even at these lower voltages?

What is the fuse upgrade, is that just for when using stacked batteries?

Sorry, I know I am late to the party, but trying to learn....

Thanks for the help,

Hey ED...

I've got a 1.3ohm coil going on my iAtty on the SS GGTS...pretty nice. :)

I was using higher voltages too, but the GG hits great at 3.7-4.2v.

No problems with TH.

Thanks AG, I am close to hitting the Confirm button :) and then I figured if I don't get much TH then I can just wait for the VV addition later down the line.

Is there any other items I need to get (accessories, etc.)? I already have some 18500 and 18650 batteries and mainly just use 510 connections.

Thanks again,

You might get the 510 extensions mentioned earlier today.

I bought a spare set of o-rings (for the iAtty & GGTS both) & a brass telescope too. ;)

I use the 18650 batteries in it, but the 18350's are nice for making it a smaller mod.

One of my GGTS's came with the magnetic switch...wish it was in stock...

Are those adapters better than using the 901 to 510 and 510 to 901? I read above where using the 510 suggestion however adds a little space between the iAtty and the device which might be better...ugh decisions, decisions, but hey you only live once right?

I guess I can hold off on the other thing I was going to get this month or maybe just use this as an early early early Christmas gift :)

Thanks for all the information and as far as the other accessories, magnets, fuses, etc. I guess I'll read more into those and maybe purchase down the line, hopefully Bruce will get a stock replenish :)

Almost forgot...

If you don't have old ce2's...get some ceramic cups to mod. If you get Nextel wick it's thick & you'll need to enlarge the slot on the cup.

I picked up an extra of the piece the cup sits in too, since I'l be enlarging the slots on it too.

The 510 extensions are good to have, whether you decide to use them or not...

Thanks, got some of those CE2's around and agree with you on the extensions, can never have too many of those ;)

I was going to get some extra silver non-resistance wire too but I can get like 100 ft from Ebay for a lot cheaper so will probably go that route.

I appreciate the help AG,

Well, I had the SS GGTS in my COV cart and when I was finishing the checkout process it looks like someone beat me to it, I mean what are the chances? :(

Guess it was not meant to be for me.....

Thanks again for the help everyone..

Aw man, sorry to hear that.
Some will be shipping out to sellers on Monday though, so don't despair just yet!

No problem at all- keep an eye out for presale announcements from Bruce, I'll let ya know if I see it and you're not on...
Below is where I got that news from, quotes are from yesterday!
You are shipping the UFS Monday? How long does shipping normally take? I thought we had 20 some days

Not UFS guys. I will ship GGTS, GGStealth, metal mouthpieces for Iatty, caps for UFS, gold telescopes, plastic parts for Iatty, 2x18650 extensions, UFS glass windows, wick, wire
Sweet, I wants a metal iAtty mouthpiece too!:2cool:
