This wont ever happen, and if it does there will always be an underground market place in my eyes to get your supplies, think about it you can order whatever pill you want even steroids over the INTERNET so something this simple will be easy for black market distributors to supply, The Govt only wants there piece of the pie right now and there going to get it one way or another
Yes and no. (imho) You can't legally possess any pill you buy on-line that otherwise is not OTC.
S&H through USPS means the gov't is already getting a huge profit they won't have it goes through UPS or FedEx or they jack up costs that forces it underground/into the black market, where you really don't know what you're getting. Sure, the gov can take and take and take more but, whoever votes that way on a product that helps people live healthier won't have a job in politics in 2 yrs.(It also won't work on revenue from e-cigs because it would give e-cigs a bad name & scare alot of new people looking to quit, away from ever trying what is THE ONLY thing that has worked for me and alot of other people)
It's already legal.
Governor Schwarzenegger Terminates E Cigarette Ban in California
The only State that is holding a threat over e-cig users is NY. If they raise the keep raising price on analogs and make the opposite choice into a class war, they'll get their revenue from an increase in alcohol consumption and the more immediate loss of life that goes with alcoholism. We're living in a recession they are observing and if comes up again to totally ban e-cigs, the e-cig advocacy groups in NY have to explain why California was right all over again.
A real underground/black market, like people on the street, isn't likely to happen because it's not like drugs. e-cigs are used by normal, everyday people who want to improve their health @ a cost lower than tobacco suicide sticks. The biggies in tobacco would follow suit because e-cigs are classified as a tobacco product. If not it's discrimination by the choice to refuse to kill yourself. (suicide is against the law & so is complicancy in the suicide of another person - I don't think big tobacco wants that fight to be opened) + there are so many people who hate the tobacco companies whether they vape or not, imho, get rid of anything that requires needles to refill and the gov has a bigger investment in confiscating illicit drugs. And we can all happily get back to vaping.
Calling the DIY's an 'underground' is a poor choice of words. Vaping needs to more frequently use language that can't be associated to the drug culture. To me, anyway, that's not the 'fun' part about it. The fun of vaping is proving to myself I can quit with flavors I enjoy and not jeopardize anyone else's health in the process, meeting new people who get how hard it is to quit and (on my to-do list) vaping after a meal in a restaurant w/o having to ask anyone for an ashtray.
There is no fun in worrying I could lose everything for doing the right thing, having tried everything else, because a handful of people are too lazy to use the condom refill. I don't think it's about money but, safety first. I do think it will end up regulated but, that's a lot different from banning it. I don't think comparing buying e-cigs to pills helps stop the 'drug culture' association and it's
4000x less unsafe 'compared' to tobacco. It is a category unto itself, technically and in as much as we, the community use language and items that can't be used in either tobacco or drug cultures. It's only likely the gov will think not enough people feel they are doing enough to keep them safe and punish us for taking care of our health better. So to the OP just stop reading other forums that are missing the point and you won't worry so much. Very few people will be able to afford either if the prices go up through the gov. so let's hope they shift to penalizing an entirely different segment of society, if it even the ban thing gets re-opened again. NY did drop it.
Thank-you V4L for not including needles for refilling in your product line-up or instructions.
