I've been vaping a number of years now and sometimes I get fed up with it. I never crave a cigarette anymore but it took years to get to get to this point. I think I will try and give it up soon but it depends on how much I miss it. In fact I am going to try it tomorrow and seed how long I can go without a vape. The answer to the question though he i could do it without any withdrawl then yes I would, we'll see tomorrow and I'll post back here tomorrow night and tell you how I've got on.

I don't care to fiddle all that much...

I have a kayfun, a Lemo Drop and a nimbus, but I don't want to have to mess with them for a good vape. Im all about the Atlantis, Nautilus, and CF Sub ohm battery now.

I like my nicotine, I like a nice hit of Jerry juice or Deadly Sin in the morning with coffee.

No, I wouldn't quit if I could. I came close during a period of horrible BDC coils from aspire and even thought about a smoke. I thinned my already thin juice and limped through 3 weeks off shore until I could get to my kayfun.

Nope... im in for the forseeable future.

I hear ya, nicotine saves lives (other people's)
Not to mention marriages. The last time I tried to quit smoking (before vaping existed) my wife (who has never used nicotine) told me: "If you wanna stay married, you need to start smoking again!"

More recently she suggested I should get a dedicated freezer for nic base. :D

After trying to quit cold turkey, my wife said the same thing to me. (Multiple times).

Although I went All day Sat with only 3 vape breaks. Considering the UK-Lou game was on it was even more nice. Now last night with the Bungles and Steelers (Friggin Dalton)... I vaped 5 ml... Oh well.

Heh... the last time I tried the patch, after a week, my son says "Mom... PLEASE smoke." :D

Several of the responses have pointed to a question I have had for a long time. Many, myself included, seem to go down on their nic levels over time and a few are down to zero. At that point, if vaping really is/was a means to quit smoking, why keep vaping other than to satisfy an oral fixation or mechanical addiction? If one is vaping purely zero nic juice there is nothing left to be addicted to other than the mechanics as far as I can tell. Just a thought...

Interesting point F.R.
I would imagine that depends on the individual. For many ex smokers, there probably is a mechanical addiction... for others perhaps it's just a familiar ritual when under stress or boredom? Then there are the new vapers that never touched a cigarette but seem to do it as a means to "fit in" with a specific crowd? For some I think it's a way for them to look "cool"... Sorta like the reason many of us started smoking. I sure didn't start because I thought cigs tasted great. Many seem to enjoy it as much, if not more than the rest of us.
Lets face it, smoking was an enjoyable habit / addiction / ritual... whatever you want to call it for many years... 34 years for me.. Vaping lets some of us get over smoking and still enjoy the familiar routine that was a major part of our lives
I'm vaping 0mg nic almost exclusively these days but with an occasional dripper topped off with some 6mg for that beautiful calming effect. On a rare occasion I'll raid the wife's 12 and 18's for that ol' familiar lung burn. I still like the feeling.
I didn't intend to quit smoking nearly 2 years ago, nor did I ever intend to drop my nic levels by any means... but it just happens to some of us. It doesn't mean I ever intend to give up the vape, nor am I ashamed to bounce up the nic for kicks when I'm in the mood.
Or I could be completely wrong and I should just shut up... :D

I'll bet many here share a similar story! My buddies staged a sort of "intervention" many years ago after I managed to kick the sticks for nearly 2 years.
I got a carton of Reds and a new Zippo out of that one!

Know exactly where you are coming from Uncle P. I didn't actually intend to quit smoking when I tried vaping, was really just curious to see what it was all about and here I am a few weeks shy of a year later without smoking. I still miss it, actually just reached for a smoke a second ago absent mindedly and had to do a double take to realize my smokes aren't on the desk anymore and the ashtray is long gone.

I also never intended to drop nic levels, it just sort of happened for me and now I'm down to a mixture of mostly 6 or 3 depending on the device, juice, mood, etc. but could see moving down again.

I guess that's partly why I asked the original question with the post as I am not sure I could or would stop vaping even if I had moved beyond the nicotine addiction. The responses are very interesting indeed.

So, here you are down the road a ways glad that smoking is a thing of the past for you. We are all here because vaping got us, and hopefully kept us off the cigs, question is would you quit vaping today if it were simple and you suffered no withdrawals from the nicotine, oral fixation, etc.?

Personally I'd love to say yes but I know vaping has become a hobby for me as well and quitting would leave a void in my life, wondering how the rest feel about this.

There it is, sound off folks! No right or wrong answer here, just curious.
Well this is an easy question for me, and maybe many others like me.

I can easily stop vaping right now except for when I am drinking.
When I am drinking I will either smoke or vape, and there is no other option other than to stop drinking.
:)

But beyond that, I rarely vape anymore unless I am particularly stressed.

Here's the thing though...
Nicotine.

I like nicotine.
I know it is not a bad thing.

It improves memory, concentration, and attention.
Much like caffeine.

It also may help prevent Alzheimers and Parkinsons.

Why in the HELL should I even consider stopping my use of nicotine?
Nevermind, that's a rhetorical question, because I have no intention of doing so.

At least not until all the coffee drinkers decide to give up their caffeine.

Perhaps you underestimate the various other habits and rituals that go along with smoking and/or vaping.
The hand-to-mouth being only one of them, along with relaxation, meditation, social aspects, and whatever else.

Those that think nicotine is the ONLY thing that ever mattered might be in for a rude surprise.
And it explains why patches and gums don't work, and why many people continue to vape after getting to zero.

Just a thought...
:)

The one thing you learn on this forum over time is that we are all different.
And believe it or not, we have different things we GOT from smoking.

Once size is never going to fit all around here.

Na. I was a non smoker for a few years and pretty miserable. That I would that unhappy and doing what was best for me didn't seem right, I went back to smoking. So when I found vaping it was a lifer changer for me. I could have my cake and eat it to. I know there is risk involved, but harm reduction is key for me.
