I don't know the story, or back story for that matter, and it may not be any of my business, but this sounds like a very smart choice to make in a bad situation.

It requires more tip toe'ing than I would like, @sawlight. I live with and care for his 82 yr old mother who has dementia, Katie. The ex is an only child, so there is no one else to take care of her. I may be the first woman in history to get custody of the mother in law in a divorce

Sorry, but I'm not going to buy into the whole "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" mentality. I've seen it come and go. The FDA is trying to outreach it's authority and will get smacked back into it's place.
EVEN if it does go through, how hard is it going to be to buy gear from China? I think not hard! Nothing I've ordered from fasttech ever said "Warning, this package contains vaporizers!" on it! I think a lot of people are blowing this way out of proportion at the moment.

That may no longer be true. More than one person is reporting across several threads that very recent packages from FT are now labeled on the outside "This package contains electronic cigarettes." Apparently this has been standard practice with FT for some time when they ship to countries with known bans.

Having said that, from what I have read of the dates of impact for the regulations the FDA hasn't figured out yet what to do with overseas purchases, only stipulating the these companies may need to register as something, for something some time in 2016.

It's just something to pay attention to for now. There could be all sorts of spastic interference coming - as what Canadian customs crap is like. Stay tuned.

I just got notice from FT that USPS Expedited refused to deliver a $3 watch/internal battery and returned the package to FT My Crown coils from a separate order are out for delivery today...go figure.
