It should be made illegal for kids to visit sites adult like ours and parents should be made responsible. Why the hell should we babysit their ..... kids?

Parents just do not take any responsibility for their own. And they think e-cig sites are bad, do they not have a clue of all the other sites their kids are on. Maybe it's the parents that are ......!

the site is actually hosted on the guys shaw personal webspace included with your internet package (same thing I do with my website on my telus page) I just pay the $18 a year for my name and host the files on my personal server. those click adds are just crap he added to generate revenue.

take a look at this, check the comments at what Susan Breckenridge says. seem familiar? (you'll have to click the more button a couple times as it's moved "her" comments to the background)
Electronic Cigarettes, what's really in them?

I'm certain the person or people behind nicfits think they're being helpful to "their" cause, even by being hurtful and posting private information, pictures, and telling lies. I was "featured" for organizing a Vapers Cruise, which in fact was cancelled (but hopefully he'll show up with protest signs anyway and look like even more of a fanatic!)

As much as I am compelled to promote awareness of the (thus far) known facts, benefits, and limitations of e-cigs, vapor, or vaping, I speak only of what I know for certain, or what I've experienced. Not everyone will, and that's life. I'm wise enough to know that anyone who operates and promotes their agenda with lies, misinformation, part truths, personal attacks, and posts people's pictures, phone numbers and addresses, and then remains hidden from contact, is operating from a place of desperation, fear, and insignificance. They're stuck, and don't know how to make an impact, so they attack. Big deal - there are bigger opponents out there. There is no way to win or lose with the kind of person/people we're dealing with and I'm not going to get sucked into dis-proving lies! Further, as everyone can already see, they "look" desperate, act desperate, and are falling apart in what's clearly a loosely wrapped, poorly presented package of information and opinion. I don't think anyone can win in public perception using negative campaigning, if that's ALL you got! The public is smarter.

People like this don't really expect to have an impact on public perception or policy. The best they can do is try to pull opponents into engaging with them so they have a platform to say what they want to say. I support their right to say what they want, even if I know it's not true. I have the right to think and know otherwise. More importantly, I have the right NOT to look at their website and I have the right not to engage them in a verbal sparring match that will only frustrate me by their ignorance and tactics. I would however, like to agree to disagree with them and I'll hold my breath for the day that they contact me to have a civil conversation about our respective views.

Do you really think anyone reads their website? Who would go there, and what would they possibly be looking for? I suspect their website traffic has gone way up because of us, not because of people who think like them or are likely to be converted to their fanatical stance and behavior.

Other than that I have no opinion!

Funny, but as soon as I started reading this guy's site, I immediately thought of the comments on this article and wondered if they weren't the same people. Same ridiculous and repetitious parroting of the same facts and spouting a variety of nonsense. Absurd.

It is aggravating. as a smoker it would drive me nuts that because of some people's conceptions of MY habit, that I was to be persecuted in ways that had no bearings on the people trying to enforce their wills.... such as not being able to smoke outdoors in a public park..... let's forget the 4 million cars that drive around that park daily polluting the air, but my cig might kill someone... the over zealous tend to think they need to force their opinions down my throat.... I remember people in history that tried to ethnically cleanse the world of people that didn't follow their way of thinking, and this mentallity isn't much different, albeit on a smaller scale.

I don't try to force my ecig down people's throats, I ask in any establishment if they mind before I do it and explain what I am doing. if they say no, I will accept their decision. but to have someone that isn't even in that establishment try and dictate what I can do from across the country (or continent) is not only absurd, it's rather assinine and cruel. I could go on and on but I think this person really needs to look inside themselves and figure what their motives are, and what are they really trying to accomplish... it can't be to help people, it is just outlandish, hateful propaganda and fear tactics best saved for world war

I'm not at all sure that anything can be done about this, the best shot is looking to shut the site down through his hosting service actually. When you step back a bit, we say harrassment, he says expose. We say invasion of privacy, he says disseminating information in the public domain.

Someone mentioned tortious interference, it would be pretty hard to show that given he's speaking out against the industry as a whole which would include his own business if he as one. He could claim a change of heart.

As for criminal harrassment, or cyberstalking, the main problem here is that we need the element of harrassment present for this to have enough of a basis for criminal charges, and it could be argued that simply having a website in the public domain isn't harrassment, as opposed to say, direct contact with the persons offended.

As for criminal defamation, one of the potential problems here is that the intent of the material is directed toward the substance itself rather than toward people directly. So it's a nicotine hatred site first and foremost and although the information is obviously false, the person may claim that in conjunction with this he's posting information that he gathered on the internet about users and vendors to go along with it. I haven't looked at the site that closely but we really need to see specific defamation here, meaning comments made directly against individuals which may substantially harm their reputation, other than their using or selling a product he disfavors.

So I'm certainly not taking the side of this id-iot and I certainly do hope that he or she can be shut down but it probably won't be as easy as people think and will require some real effort.

That is sad for you to think this Cobra, but what i want to say, is he clearly has misinformed the public about me. And that to me is slanderous, as I do not sell or manufacture nic. He also has my number up, and if that number was actually in service (thank god it was disconnected years ago) and I got phone calls that were unwanted and harassing pertaining to this site, then who would u blame? This really is a bad situation he has created for my peace and enjoyment in my life at home.

Well I don't think you get what I was saying, and as I said I haven't wasted that much time on this site, and I was only looking to pass along what we'd need to show here. What you are telling me though is very upsetting. All I was looking to do with this post is to try to put the whole thing in perspective as far as what would need to be shown. Whether or not this is the case is another matter.

For instance, since you said you got phone calls, then it could be claimed that the people who called you did the harrassing, which would be true of course. However that would speak to your being defamed. Don't get the wrong idea here, I agree that this is atrocious.

It's not remotely difficult to demonstrate that this creep is cyberstalking people, kingcobra. There's just no question: look how obsessively he's delved into people's social media, private info & more.

Taking photos of people's homes & of people themselves - putting them up alongside their addresses & phone numbers etc - lying about them, viciously insulting them - while also accusing them of being extremely dangerous criminals/outlaws? He's targeting individuals with textbook cyberstalking & criminal harrassment.

I'm not really concerned that anyone with a brain will ever stumble across his site & swallow his delusions or lies. He has long held these crazy beliefs, and he's welcome to spew them in obscurity. But a line has been crossed. I am concerned over the clearly threatening behaviour that targets specific suppliers & vapers across Canada, as well as suppliers & vapers in general. Despite his obvious cowardice...given his (evidently) unbalanced mental state, I wouldn't put much past him. It's not unreasonable for people to be disturbed & frightened by the fact that this crazy is hounding & watching us.

And remember, this is the guy that set the April shutdowns in motion. Vapables, Nic Fit Nation, etc - all gone, because of this .... He's also been stalking & harrassing the team at Electro Vapors for months - their homes, their workplaces, everywhere they try to have a vape meet. This guy doesn't give up. And he never will, until we exercise our rights under the law.

---

So I repeat: his crazy beliefs aren't the issue. His criminal harrassment & cyberstalking is. The whole point of that kind of thing is to intimidate & distress specific people - to malign & victimize them. That's why it's illegal.

One more thing: stalking is defined by the the impact on the person(s) being stalked...rather than the intent of the stalker. In this case, the impact is clear. And so is his intent.

Well the part about collecting information freely available on the internet, regardless of how intimate the details may be, isn't a crime in itself. Accusing someone of being a "dangerous criminal" though is another matter. Once again I didn't explore the site in any great depth and I've said that all along and didn't run into anything of that nature. Even so, I don't believe this consitutes cyberstalking, as this generally involves direct contact of a repeated nature. However, based upon what you are saying here, this sounds like criminal defamation to me. If I say, well nicotine kills, and then list some people who are selling it, that woudn't be enough. However if I directly make false accusations against these people, stating that they are dangerous criminals and such, well that's different.

Sorry if it seems like I am nit picking, I'm just looking to see if there is any real basis here for charges, and if so, well the police should definitely be called in. In fact that's a good way to settle it, if they are willing to charge the site owner, then that's a great step.

Following someone to the point where they feel invaded, uncomfortable & threatened is stalking, kingcobra. That applies to the internet as well. What this guy has done goes way beyond the legitimate collection & display of information from the internet. The manner in which he's displaying it also factors in. It's creepy. People are afraid because of it.

His crazy beliefs are actually quite hilarious, as we've seen in this thread. But his targeted cyberstalking of individuals is no laughing matter.

Because these kind of nuts escalate. Think about it: he begins by harrassing Electro Vapors for months. Then he sets the April shutdowns in motion. Now he's stalking & maligning people all across Canada. What's next?

We don't know, and that's why we need to take this seriously. For all we know, this guy might try to burn someone's house down...or attack someone. Do cyberstalkers often escalate their vendettas into violence? Yes, they do.

So yeah...let's laugh at his nonsense, but let's also get the law to take him (& his site) down for his crimes. Hard. Sooner the better.
