I watched tons of rewiews of this zenith tank and they convinsed me to buy it.
What a disappointment!!
Vapor production is good for a mtl tank and construction is good too.
I'm not getting any taste and also burnt taste after few puffs, even on low wattage. Currently using the 0.8 coil (which is reading 0,47 on my device) at 15w
I'm using 70/30 vg/pg is this too thick or what am I doing wrong? I'am beginning to think the coils are just crap.
every youtuber hyped about the taste but im not getting any taste at all. The taste is so little that its hard to even reconize the flavor I'm using :(
Hmm that aint possible.. so what went possible wrong
1 prime you coil before install. Prime the side holes and drip a little in the top of the coil and wait 15 minutes before use
2 start at 13 watt and then slowly build up to 15 watt
3 wait 15 seconds between draws with the 70vg liquids
4 your coil is maybe broken
5 you have a vapetongue
5 the liquid aint good 80 vg or more. Or very old
6 you have a cold
7 your airflow is too tight, use hole 2 or more!
8 are you sure you used the .8 coil. ?? It sounds you used the .5 mesh coil. I heared about some flavour problems with them. But im not sure i dont use them. Please check which coil it is!

☆personally i like the 1.6 ohm more.. better/complete taste with also the dark taste tones in the vape, which disappear in the subohm vape and i dont understand people who use one coil for 3 weeks.. with flavour 50 vg 12 watt and a bit tastefull tight airflow 2 holes, its max 1200 puffs/ 6 days then the coil comes out, a bit tastefull, but deep burned black.

I usually vape a direct lung tank from eleaf and the taste is great. but with this...its really really bad...(same juice). Back in the day, old cartotanks and ego batteries produced much more flavor.
The coil is straight from the original tank kit. 0,8ohm that was pre-installed (I tought the 1,6 should have been installed) Maybe I will try the 1,6ohm coil berfore I use the biggest hammer I can find on this tank and destroy it.

-I did prime the coil as I always do.
-What is a vape tongue? (other devices taste ok)
-I don't have a cold
-Liquid is not old
-I have tried it with the AFL in every setting-->same result, 2holes or more = not a proper MTL imo

If you're using a .8 coil and it's reading as .47, something is wrong, whether with it or with your device. But you're probably dealing with the .5 ohm Plexus Z. If so, I can say that, when I first began using one nine days ago, it took longer to break in than either the .8 or the 1.6 ohm coil. For the first couple of days, I could only take two or three puffs before the flavor became disgusting. I just treated it gently, and eventually it gave consistently decent flavor. I won't be buying any replacement Plexus Zs, but I know I'll be able to get some use from those that will be coming preinstalled in a bunch of Zenith tanks I just ordered because they were much cheaper than than the tank with the .8 ohm coil.

I will be interested to see how long the .5 ohm coil lasts. Unlike @William The 1e, I refuse to change a coil till I can't stand it anymore--I've got one in service that's still going strong after eight weeks--so longevity is a plus for me.

8 weeks in full use thats a world record :) Let me quess.. you dont use flavour or you use 70 pg. Your airflow is 3. 4 . Or 5 holes at 10 watts.. so you only vape air..
Serious i got ill a week ago when i vaped the zenith. The coil was 6 days old and 1000 puffs that is around 15ml. Of use. i used multiple flavours sweet and not sweet 50 pg. At 2 holes an 12 watt. I tried my other device to check and didn't get ill. Tried the zenith and got ill immediately. Then i open up the coil. And it was terrible tar deep black. But the taste wasnt that bad.. i want to warn people for vaping poison and not beware of it. When you vape flavours on a tastefull tuned device, not only airy, don't have a bad feeling when you have to change coils each 1 or 2 weeks, because your neighbour use 1 coil per year. Safety first!

Nope. I rotate among four mods, each fitted with a Zenith containing a different flavor (RY4, mint with a hint of chocolate, lemon, and blackberry). I still taste each flavor well.

or you use 70 pg.

Nope again. 35PG max.

Your airflow is 3. 4 . Or 5 holes . . .

Mostly 2. Sometimes 3

at 10 watts.. so you only vape air..

At the moment, 11.5 (1.6 ohm coil), 13.5 (.8 ohm coil), 15 (.5 ohm coil), and 16W (.8 ohm coil--this is the eight-week-old one).

I'm sorry your Zenith has made you feel ill; mine have not. If the flavor is fine, the vapor is consistent, and the draw is good, I'm not going to change the coil. Perhaps the cooked-on juice will kill me in the end, but I suspect something else is more likely to have that privilege.

... ah ok so thats more close to 2 weeks per coil not 8. 2 weeks is my max also.. but one week is better for me personally. I read we have the same kind of settings and flavours but you have more mods and tanks.. do you really like the subohm coils? I compared the .8 and 1.6 with a couple liquids for example the strawberry yoghurt liquid. . The 1.6 gives a lot of taste in the whole taste range..from light to heavy. The .8 only gave the light taste notes.. also tabacco and custards taste very light and not a full rounded complete taste... i still have a couple of them .8 .. will try again.. but im afraid i gonne miss taste

Hmm. This calls for an experiment. Someday I will fill two tanks, one fitted with the .8 and the other with the 1.6, with the same e liquid and see how they compare. This will have to wait till I have to change coils, though, since, in the name of science, both coils should start off in the same state.

My eldest coil, by the way, has had the equivalent of more than two weeks' use. It started off in a tank filled with the juice I vape most--easily three times as much as the others--and then after about a month and a wash was switched to a tank containing a more lightly vaped flavor. Still a pretty good innings and going strong.

The tank is designed for 50/50 juices but I've only used 70 and 80 VG liquids, on anything between 9-17w. 6mg nicotine. I tend to use heavy, sweet, dark liquids too, basically my taste is for coil-killing juice! The 0.8 and 0.5 coils both handle it well (one of my faves is an 80VG custard and was fine), my only problem with the 0.5 Plexus is the same most people have - it barely lasts 4 days of average use in my experience whereas the .8 will go for about 2 weeks of constant use. I rotate tanks (of different types) as well though so haven't used it constantly for quite some time.

Always worth remembering that even though the Zenith has a generally great rep, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the tank for you... I have a Nautilus 2 which is also good (and there's a new model just come out) so if things don't work out with the Zenith trying different coils that might be an option.

I've never tried the 1.6 coil because I didn't think it would be as good for high VG liquids and I've got a backlog of the sub-ohm coils which aren't going to run out any time soon!

Good experiment! :) i did it a lot of times in one tank.. take a draw of the .8 and then switched it to the 1.6 and take a draw. I did the same with the justfog q16. With the 1.6 and 1.2 ohm . The result is like an amplefier which you control the treble and bass.. the low ohm = lots of nice treble *and lots of liquid use, but no bass. The high ohm also nice treble but the dj putt in the bass.. and the party can start.

I do not notice the break in period of the 1.6 much. Because the taste is always better then the old coil. An other thing is, i drip/prime the coil in the top hole so uts really soaked. Im curious about your opinion :)

some of the luquids i use. The dark delight (coffee chocolate) is 70vg.. and its handled/soaks well in the 1.6. I will post my coil picture soon. Black is no problem burned black is.. im curious again we ll see (12 watt. No chain vape. 2.5 airhole. Different type of liquids also clear tabaco and menthol 30vg. 3 seconds vapes)

I didn't notice a long break-in, either, truth be told, but I was also super careful about priming and slowly ramping up the wattage after having read so many comments saying it would take a tank or two before the juice tasted right.

Like zazie said if the .8 coil gives .45 ohm there is something really wrong. This zenith is one if the most flavourfull tanks there is in the mtl factorycoil world. Personally i go for the 1.6 coil. This one gives a more tight draw and for me a better taste and the amount of clouds is +/_ similar compaired with the .8. But the .8 aint bad. With 70 vg, 2 airholes is a bit tight but not a big problem. I use 70 vg also sometimes at 2 and a bit airholes.. for cooling and good priming. You cant chain vape 70vg. This kills the coil slowly because of lack of cooling and priming. But .45 aint good. Sure it aint the meshcoil which device set did you bought? Can you make a photo of the inside coil . You can open it with a fork!. Then you can see the cotton and wire..

I am using the 1.8 right now reading 1.78 on my Zelos.
You perhaps have a bad coil?

I have 2 mods Eleaf ikonn220 and pico21700, both show the resistance under 0.5ohm and its not the plexus coil. It's the original from the tank kit when i bought it and there is a text in the coil that is 0.8. maybe just a faulty coil......

I really had high hopes for this tank that I could get a proper cigar liquid in it and do some old school MTL....new coil and a new try....not giving up yet.

On direct lung i'm using 2.5 - 3mg liquid. What could be equivalent strength in a mtl tank? is 6mg enough or should I go even higher?

I upped from 3 to 6 for the zenith and n2 because I like to chain vape but was doing even more so with 3 and so punishing the coils. To help with coil life you could consider a lower wattage with the zenith - I find I don't really need to go above 14w max for a satisfying airy draw but as with just about every single thing in the vape world YMMV!
