Never have gurgling with the .8 and 1.6..whatever the setting is.. I m using the 1.6 now at 13.5 watt on 2 and a bit air.. gives a very natural draw. I still change the coils at 1200 puffs no matter if i use the 11 watt or 13.5 watt setting.. the coil is always black around 1200 puffs. (Premium divers liquids 50vg)
See, that's probably why mine gurgled - I typically only do 8.5W on a .58 SS Doggy or True. .5 plexus probably doesn't like it that low. I've kind of dialed it in by the end of today to 10W. I always lose a little flavor going above 8.5, but it delivers a more solid hit. And I think the plexus likes it to be a little higher.

Ha- as you might Imagine, Zaz - much of my wardrobe matches the item in the background, except when I'm at work. I do have a yellow polo that would look good with it come Easter, though!
But your avatar screams pastels! I, on the other hand, tend to wear black, so my manly Kroma noir matches me perfectly.

I've used the .8 ohm coil at 8.5W and it did nicely, by the way. I would imagine the 1.6 might do even better. The .5 definitely likes it hotter.

I know what you mean i used the 1.6 always on 11 watt. When i used the device above the 12 watt i lost some flavours. I vaped menthol for a week.. and after this week the taste remains whatever wattage i use whatever kind of liquid. On 13.5 w the intensity is better whith great taste and i can take shorter vapes 2 or 3 seconds. At 11 watt the total flow is quite tight and i had to take 3 or 4 seconds not very relaxt vapes.. hmmm taste is a strange thing. Grrrrr

I got the kit I won yesterday- the one with UL approval. Beautiful manly pinkish purple.

Came with the .5 coil installed, I assume it's the Plexus, unless they've come out with a new one. Threw in some of my NET, and gave it a try. Not impressive at all the first dozen hits, while the coil broke in. But after that, it came alive. Worlds better than the bvc in a N2. Really nice, actually, and every bit as good as my old Kayfuns, but still short of the doggy, far short of the True MTL. But this really is great for a convenient, inexpensive drop in coil, and better than I expected.

I was really surprised as well how open this thing is - I've been using with only1 or 2 holes open. I can see people liking this for a restricted lung hit wide open.

It did gurgle this am, but after blowing it out and turning up watts for a couple of hits it went away, and has been fine all day. I'm interested to see how well this coil holds up to a net. And based on the reviews here, I'll probably get some of the .8 ohm non-plexus to try too.

I've tried a bunch of the 0.5 and 0.8ohm coils, and I always get better life out of the 0.8ohm coils. And I cannot tell a difference in taste. My juice is coil gunker and that might explain the useful life.

Yep - thanks for confirming. After I won, I went through this entire thread, and it seemed that best life was the .8. Some preferred the plexus, but seems most had issues with it, and even those that liked it better reported shorter life. So I plan on ordering some .8's. I do rta's and like a clean coil, so I'm hoping I get enough life out of the .8's on NETs to make it worthwhile to use. Coils aren't too expensive (if they last reasonably for me), and this does give a really good vape for a drop in coil.

I finally retired my oldest coil: a .8 ohm that had been in service for 68 days. I took it apart and decided I probably could have given it another vodka bath (it had already had one several weeks ago) and used it some more. There was some carbonized juice on the wire that rinsed off quickly under running water, and the cotton was restored to white pretty fast, too.

Changing the coil has given me the chance to do a head-to-head comparison of the .8 and the 1.6 ohm coils. I think I get slightly better flavor from the 1.6, but, honestly, for me, they are much of a muchness. Which is good, because I just bought thirteen boxes of each to add to my stash.

I'm always impress with guys that can get weeks out of a coil rather than days. I know the juice has something to do with it. When I notice the slightest change taste I generally yank the coil and wash the tank. I have the dishpan hands to prove it.

Bingo. That's me, too. Which is why I love my eGo One with CLR coils. They combine the best of both worlds: the convenience of a drop-in and the ability to disassemble, rewick, dry burn and rebuid of an RBA coil. A single CLR coil lasts a very long time with minimal effort.

Having said that, this Zenith tank is looking good. I'm trying to figure out if the vape quality is any better than that of my CLRs. Decisions, decisions. I also like the kit (with the Kroma A) and the top fill feature.

I saw your pictures, William. Reminds me very much of my pictures of yore of burnt cartomizer filler. You can't clean burned with anything. Are you sure it's burnt? It may just be heavily stained.

And I agree that soaking those small coils in anything doesn't do much good. We tried everything in the past--soaking in vodka and everclear, ultrasonic cleaners, microwaves, boiling, you name it. It really doesn't work well. However, vaping a tankful or two of unflavored juice (with or without nic) does work somewhat. I call it wet burning. PG is a good cleaner and will dissolve some of the crud from the coil and/or wick. Not all, but some.

I replied. Told you I don't have a camera, so I can't take a picture. Do you honestly think I'd bother to lie about this?

As I said earlier today, I took apart the coil I decided to junk, and the cotton inside wasn't burnt at all. Plain water rinsed it to light gray; I have no doubt vodka would have brought it back to something close to white.

Kangerwholesaleusa has the .8 and 1.6 ohm coils for $6.10 per five-pack, and yesterday an extra 10% was taken off at checkout. I don't know if it still applies, or it may only kick in if you order enough to get free shipping ($75 minimum), but even at the full price it's the best deal I've found.

I think i m gonne drink the vodka myself :)

Before you do, did you rinse the cotton? I can't tell from the picture if the cotton is actually burnt or just stained. Staining is normal. Burnt is a different story. If it's just stained, you can rinse the coil under running hot water and blow out the excess. But that won't clean the coil.

How was the coil? Lots of gunk build-up on it? Not much?
