Instead of batts and atties, why not 'snap & vape' ?

Was going thru an earlier thread about vaping caffine and a link
got me thinking if this has been considered for our vaping habits

edited 10/11/10 5am..
Went back to the site to try to find out more about these 'caffeine stix' and found out it was a
april fools joke.. along with 'canned unicorn meat' and 'tribbles & bits' along with other stupid items..
when I hit the 'order now' button ..It said 'gottcha, happy april fools'... so I'm feeling pretty stupid for
putting it out here..(slapping my forehead) I honestly did not know till I tried to buy..

I hope this link comes thru

ThinkGeek :: SurgeStix - Inhalable Caffeine Stix

just put nicotine & flavor in place of (or with) caffine

mabee its been brought up before and rejected..? why ? ...NOW I KNOW...

.....but we need to keep our minds open to new ideas,
I know I don't want to stay dependant on imported stuff for my new vaping habit :)

Wait five seconds for the "filter" to absorb the solution. You will notice a slight temperature increase as the solution reacts with the harmless chemicals in the "filter" which causes the caffeine to vaporize.

chemical vaporization.... and people are worried that e-cigs aren't safe???

Okay.. I like seeing the vape trail too...but.. If you could still get the hand to mouth action we are so used to along with a flavor and some nicotine, why not try something like this ? They could be used anywhere without even trying to hide a vape trail;
So no being sent out with the nasty smokers to get our nic hit in an immediate way like with our pv's.
Perhaps offered as another safe alternative to burning tobacco?
Has anyone ever tried 1 of those caffeine sticks to see if they even work ?

Hey, don't get me wrong..I love vaping and do it everywhere. Even in my doctors office.
Of course I will put it away if asked but usually I just take it apart and show them that it's a mini fog machine that I use to cut down my tobacco burning habit.
I'm just thinking that if these could be produced to have the same flavor and give us some nicotine without the hassles of buying the atties and batteries, wouldn't that be a nice alternative ?
Sell them as disposable one piece units with the flavor and nic level you want or 2 piece w/ nic & flavor carts.
what the heck, make them glow like lite sticks :)
Now I'm assuming of course that the chemical reaction to warm them up is completely sealed
otherwise they wouldn't be allowed for those caffeine sticks. (ThinkGeek :: SurgeStix - Inhalable Caffeine Stix)

Well you know what foggy1, I think it's a great idea. Sort of.

I want to know exactly what these "harmless chemicals" that vaporize it are. From the sounds of it, it's the same kinda stuff they put in auto-warming pocket packs. Um, scary. I'm with the others - and they want to ban VAPING? What the hell is THAT stuff? That's what I want to know. At least I know what's in e-juice, and it uses a fairly standard method of vaporization.

But that said - I like the concept. I envision it as being a really great tool for someone who is interested in weening off vaping.

You start with... well, vaping. Nicotine, vapor, the whole nine yards.

In this scenario, we're assuming this person wants to quit all together at some point.

And then, they go to this. Same hand-to-mouth, but without the vapor. One more thing you're weening yourself off of.

Then you ween down the nic, until you're not taking in any nic, and then it's basically just a stick. You may as well just use a real stick - it's cheaper.

Voila. The perfect quit-plan. Attacking one aspect of the addiction at a time for a very gradual slide into getting off all aspects of the addiction.

It would also be very good for stealth vaping. Sure, you can hold in the vapor or whatever, but this allows you to take drags more naturally without worrying about whether you're going to exhale vapor.

I'm not interested in it really... I love vaping! But I know there are people who do want to quit in a relatively near-to-mid-term amount of time.

no way.

i also don't understand people having to vape in stores. you're doing it just to get a reaction. is it really that hard to go 20-30 minutes (i'm being really generous there) without having some nicotine? i'm guessing you didn't smoke in these places so that validates my point even more. vaping where you shouldn't will cause a negative reaction from most people even if you don't see it. it looks like you're smoking so they think you are even if they don't say anything.

if you can't smoke there, don't vape there. that's just my .02.

I have to agree with Strigoi; it looks like you're smoking.

But even outside, I hate having to hide, but even when I am minding my own business say in the parking lot, in my car, or on a secluded space and people are just curious period... like what is he doing... whether I'm vaping or not, know what i mean?... then i say screw it'; they don't have to look...

Strigoi - I think it depends how you do it.

If I'm somewhere where I'm going to be hanging out for a while, I ask first. If they say yes (which they ALWAYS have in my experience), I vape politely. I take small puffs, and sometimes do hold it for a sec to decrease the vapor output further. Not total stealth-vaping - but I don't want to be blowing clouds in other people's space.

If anything, most people seem really curious. I've had people just walk up to me and ask me if I'm using "one of those electronic thingies," and where they can get one for them or a loved on.

You don't have to be a jerk when you vape in public. And people can see that courtesy.

I think it's a great idea myself. Think if things where you don't want to or can't vape. Around impressionable children - on domestic flights - on long hiking trips where you don't want extra weight from mutable batteries - working where bosses won't let you vape. What about blackouts where you might lose power for 3 or 4 days?

I think these would be great for all those times and more -
