The Darwin must use a PWM regulator to boost the voltage through induction. Anyone have a typical schematic for a boost circuit for a DC voltage? I'm interested in how this is accomplished

I believe Darwin can deliver 3 amps. Breaktru and others have been working with TI ptn04050.
Hey, if this thing can produce 3ish v up to 6-7v on a single battery I'll be extremely interested in using it for my future products. I don't care about displays or digital pots, just want a good board that'll run effecient VV off a single battery and fit in a small form factor like a tube mod.
IT's not really a VV, it's power regulated. It adjusts the voltage and amperage as it measures the resistence of your atty to automatically put out the desired wattage or heat. Much more than any VV mod can do. Power regulation is the future of ecigs and boy does it make a difference in vaping experience.
Because its Variable Watt, It will actually produce different Volts for every atomiser. 8 watts, 3 ohm attie = 4.9V, 2 ohm = 4V, 4 ohm = 5.65V. This is a good thing though becaus they will all sort of taste as warm as each other

I know how to work with "small" electronics but not with tiny electronics like pcb boards. I 'personally' don't care about PR vs VV, I tend to adjust for taste/warmth and adjust frequently depending on my mood/juice/carto/weather, etc. That's why I want one with an analog pot so I can put a little thumb wheel on it so you can easily adjust on the fly. One super bonus to PR for me is that I sometimes swap between 2ohm and 3ohm cartos and if I'm runnin a 3ohm carto maxed out then put a 2ohm on and forget to adjust... well, that usually ends in the mystical blue smoke.

Wattage, which from my understanding is more directly correlated to the heat output than say voltage. I'm not an electrician but I have learned a little in my time modding.
Yes, absolutely hands down. Like tearose said, it is very consistent and hits just as hard as you set it to every time unlike my VV mods that hit good untill the atty heats up and then everything changes. It's also an extremely intuitive, easy to use concept. Even beginers could use it and be vaping like a freight train.
Now that being said, I can see that your attempting to be a troll in this thread. Nobody is here to argue, we're all just interested in this product. If you want to have a VV vs. PR fight or just be a troll, please do it elsewhere.

Most of my experience comes from my job that involved equipment with large multiple tap power supplies and pot adjustments or digital adjustments from CRT based software. I was a tech rep who maintained a territory of equipment. Over the years, power supplies become more and more digital and self regulating with diagnostics that shut down the equipment or threw up a fault code in the error log if a voltage drifted out of accepted range.
Now, I'm retired and reading spec sheets for linear and PWM regulators for Ecigs! It's nice to be able to look at the specs and design your own stuff. I bought a low priced box mod and wouldn't you know it ... the circuitry is potted in clear RTV sealant!
That's good for safety, but bad for reverse engineering. Back to the spec sheets and schematics.
My Madvapes vv box mod is a really nice $35 mod that uses protected 14500 batts. I expected it to heat up quite a bit with a linear regulator and mid range operation, but most of the small amount of warmth I feel comes from the atty connector. That's expected.
The Madvapes vv box mod has a thumbwheel that can be adjusted with a fingernail.
