So I'm curious, what would happen if you built your coil right around the vortex part of the post just below the drip tip? Wouldn't the vapor get sucked into the vortex effect and be fairly strong? I've never tried mounting a coil high so probably a simple reason that I'm not thinking of...

The main issue I've had with some of the comments I've seen is the idea that its not possible to do a simple, successful build. I disagree with that. The build I posted is very simple and performs well. Yes, you certainly can get fancy if you want to, but for me a dripper needs to be fast and easy to build, and perform well. If easy wasn't an option, I would not be too happy.

LOL, I gather that some are mad that the Strata is not super simple to build. I wish I had mine already so I could tinker; dollars to donuts I'll be posting up some interesting builds.

By no means did I look at the proto deck and go man that looks way easy to build... Rather, I thought, looks challenging; awesome.

Those are some pretty strong words there kiba, especially for how speculative they are. You're borderline flaming David in his own sub-form. I would delete your posts too.

Holy. Crap. I might have just built me the mother atty. Dual horizontal, 26g micro ~1.5mm OD coil, 7 wraps per coil, .5 Ohms result. ~3/4" x ~1/2" solid rolled mesh, oxidized and rolled to coil ID and threaded in (quite tight) Tuck ends of wick into edge of well. Pulse to eliminate shorts. Prime coil and let er go.

I think this air system is a win.

Might suggest same as above but more wraps or 28g to bring resistance around .9-1.0. Posting another video if anyone wants to see.

Absolutely, the law of diminishing returns definitely applies to builds. Until I get my Simplicity Strata all I can do is guess. I usually dabble in both: the "I have to leave in 10 minutes" build and the "I'm in a food coma, let me tinker for like 30 while I vape off my other" build. I do have the luxury of rebuilding at work.

May I ask how the adjustable air draw works? Does it have to do with how much you close or screw down the cap? I seem to have a good sized gap between the bottom and the cover. My first build was airy and floody and second build hot , too much TH and dry/burning.

Hey Anavid. Sounds like you have some wire or a coil blocking the way. Remember the entire deck is basically the anchor for your coil, like a suspension bridge. Nothing should be touching the top surface on the whole OD. Maybe my awesome cad skills can help you visualize?

I had this issue at first...my cap wasn't actually seating all the way down...
I remembered that as with all super T products I've had that this is precisioned machined with tight tolerances...
What this translated to for me was that the threads and O-ring were stiff at first and once it was used a time or 2 and the condensed juice got onto threads and O-ring and sort of lubricated things...suddenly the cap turned from stiff to that buttery smooth feel we're familiar with as far as super T threads go...and the top then did screw down and seal off airflow completely...

I think that not only will having something on the edge of the deck impeed the adjustable draw....but you have to make sure that the threads and oring are lubricated with juice (or condensation) and broken in.. put the strata on your device and work the cap all on and off a few times...there will be a slight difference in feel when the ring is finally lubricated and seats...

Thanks Dave, really nice atomizer bud! I think I'm going to rock this build for a while once the Simplicity gets in, though I'm likely to unwind a couple of coils as it took a few seconds to warm up. When it did though... It chucked out the vapor!

Good question, I haven't tried that. I would think to get it high enough to get into the airflow, it may be too close and short. I suppose one could mount a micro style coil vertically up towards the top and remove the center post all together, wicking may suffer though, but may not.

Yessir, I have been doing a bit of midnight oil burning myself here lately. I've got a new son taking up as much time as I can give him. It's definitely a joyous time for me and mine! Thanks very much for the help, and I hope all is well!

I believe if you raise the coil up too high, the eliquid vaporization won't have room to expand. I believe as the liquid atomizes it expands into a gas rather violently. Boiling juice in your mouth sucks! Be safe out there guys!

I was really looking forward to this atomizer, but I just watched a video from Scott (igetcha69) on YouTube explaining some possible issues with the way the air flow works. He clearly demonstrated the difference between the way that it is and a proposed solution. I wanted to see if the proposed solution is being considered. After seeing the video and running into similar issues with other atomizers, I would only be interested if those ideas (or something along those lines) were implemented in some way.

Seems like too much of a hassle otherwise, from what I could clearly see in the video anyway. Also there was an issue with the drip trip possibly touching the posts and causing shorts?

Has anyone else run into these issues?
