Jonah, not sure anodizing accomplishes what you want. There is a special plastic coating, like on aluminum cans that can be sprayed to seal the aluminum and make it inert, or you could just place a food-safe, inert material like Delrin, in a very thin wafer or slug, on the inner side of the caps.

I wouldn't be too concerned about aluminum, I mean you cook your food everyday and most cookware (about 80%) is made of aluminum and it gets heated at a much higher temp and for longer periods then an atomizer. Life is too short to worry about these things.
Master modder 'raidy' says this about aluminum. I have no issue w/ it but prefer ss for durability.
The 6061 aluminum we are using is AlMgSi0.5 the same as 'raidy' uses.

any more details on the egos. bat size, regulated, at what volt, etc. thanks:>
They are 650mah regulated 3.7V and they have a row of led's around the bottom that is blue and the number of them that is lit tells you how much power is left in the battery.
OK I want /gotta have one I want the brushed 5ml 2.4 ohm I PM'd for instructions to order. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these beauties 
On my DMM a regular Ego is 3.4 or 3.2 under load these are 3.6 or 3.5 under load.
