New to the thread but I have one on pre order from elev8. It is a bit frustrating, but the made it clear it could be weeks before we receive them. Also, your theory that they dropped the price to replace customers that cancelled doesn't make much sense to me, since the reason they have so many orders in the first place is its been on discount for weeks now, during the pre order.
Replacing canceled orders is just a part of it , supposedly Elev8 has re applied the discount multiple times over the past month for a short time period and then they would up the price again . I know a few people who simply inquired to them directly asking them to honor the discount code and they agreed , apparently it pays to ask .
Thats not unlike asking for a better price on just about any item , although people rarely do since it can be awkward it does work most of the time according to Consumer Reports .
K so I just got a ship confirmation from fluid vapes. No answer as to what they did or didn't do, with an invoice saying ipv2 quantity 0
Email received 2 minutes later.
Replacement sent!!!!
Thats fantastic man, congrats .
Here is another hypothesis: The only way that a vendor is going to make profits while offering the device at $70 is to order more than 1000 units from the manufacturer. The less you order the less your profit margin will be. The purpose of the preorder is to compile batch orders of 1000 pieces each (or 500 or whatever they agreed upon with the manufacturer). When they have the money ready they pay the manufacturer who in turn takes one - two weeks to ship the order from China. So..it could be that an unlucky customer with number 7005 will have to wait till they get to number 8000 before his or her order is placed. Number 7999 will not have to wait that long. Other vendors offer the same product at a higher price because they request smaller batches that they can finance. I am using the 1000 example because it offers the biggest discount that can justify selling the device at $70. But the same principle applies to orders of 100 sets for example. The business strategy chosen for offering the IPV 2 by a certain vendor has implications on its profitability and on the lag between the minute you place an order and the minute you receive it.
The difference in wholesale price of the iPV 's between ordering up to 50 or a 1000 is not that much , i checked and got quotes. Why does Elev8 always have issues and not other well known vendors , does anyone know for sure the amounts each vendor ordered , no.
They sure are laying 100% of the blame on the vendor though , not surprising , if they admit they are understaffed or lack a proficient processing system it would only get worse for them. I may check with P4U directly and find out for myself if there are delays , a couple days ago they said we are ready to ship as many as you would like lol.
For the people willing to pay $30.00 to $40.00 over list to get it faster thats your right and if that doesn't bother you thats great .
Personally , if i know i am not getting the best deal possible on an item , it always takes away part of the excitement , you just feel that much better when you know you got something for a great price and didn't overpay. Thats just my opinion though
