Just got mine and i'm a bit impressed with how it feels while holding it. Granted this is my first box mod, but initial impressions of it say it's good. Detected the Ohms correctly. Now the decision of to make a new lower ohm coil or vape what i have now for awhile getting a feel for the device.

Edit: Ok, when i ran dry i said screw it and built a nice .6Ohm with 24gauge kanthal. Getting a nice warm vape as compared to my 1.6Ohm coil but flavor is better, and more vapor. This is on a Magma clone running single coil.

The only reason I bought this one over the 35 watt is there's no reason not to have the extra 15 if I ever get into crazy builds, but after I got it I realized I prefer vaping around 20-23, the heat up time on dual 26 gauge is too long any lower, and I prefer a cool vape so I don't like going higher.

I cant really imagine a need for higher than 50 personally, but some builds do need more than 50 watts to properly work, especially at .5 and lower, so I can understand why people want higher wattage. I never really go below .7 personally, so this is fine for me.

.3 ohms on a mechanical with no voltage drop comes out to 58.8 watts. Our IPV2s go down to .2, supposedly.

Edited for length

Well after reading many takes from veterans and newbies alike it seems building higher resistance coils is the way to go with higher wattage devices , supposedly thats the only way you can get everything out of them that they have to offer but i'm no expert.

I checked out an in depth post by Baditude and he talked about building higher resistance coils for these devices. Seems there is no need to build low on these .

On another note i went with the 35 watt because i wanted the touch fire non functional not just turned off , secondly, i still am not comfortable vaping at high wattage until there's more data on health concerns compared to lower wattage vaping .

Lets not start a conflict over that here , nothing is proven either way but it is a concern of mine. The biggest reason i wanted the 35 watt though is that for me personally , and after trying many different builds i still get the best vape with lower wattage settings , oh and of course price .

I have heard the same thing, people who do serious sub ohm tend to stick to mechanicals anyway
Ya I haven't been able to build anything that is pleasant to vape at high wattage either, I prefer higher resistance micro coils, 1.4-1.6 single or .7-.8 duals.
All the crazy coil types and above quad coils that need high wattage seem like a lot of work for little reward. Hats off to people who build stuff like Clapton coils, it is certainly cool, I just don't have the patience for that.

Just got mine in the mail! Mine is very well built and feels incredible sturdy. I noticed Grimm Green thought his was almost plastic when he first got it. Mine felt like metal the first time I put my hands on it. Heavier than I expected it would be honestly.

woohoo finally got my ipv2 in hand!! :2cool: Hats off to Elev8 for delivering as promised and with a really nice show of appreciation for my business! see prize that they shipped with my ivp2 below!
It seems to work well so far (all of 1 hour with it) BUT, it had 1 screw stripped really bad right from the factory!! I was about to rip that lid off to get a battery in there and start vaping but luckily I was able to get the stripped screw out. Unfortunately putting the replacement in was not so easy as the threads have been compromised! It feels good to hold, better than my cana mod - its lighter and taller and feels thinner.

I stick right around there myself , my lowest is 1 ohm but i mostly build from 1.2 - 2.0 and am just reading up on info about higher resistance coils and how these devices can perform at their best , still confusing as hell to me to be honest.

Looks awesome

Idk I thought mine was crazy light and breakable vut it has proven to work out quite nicely

Yeah , when i first got mine i was a little concerned about the ruggedness of it , just praying i don't drop it on a hard surface.

I could use some of that glue on my hand that Jason Bigg's (Jim) had during that movie American Pie with the video tape to make sure i don't drop it.

Thats a killer pic , one of the nicest i have seen , only Kiwi' pics rival that one.

Man what a bummer about the screw but your explanation of it is dead on . Thats what P4U considers black , next time i'm ordering charcoal gray if i want a black.

I can't remember what thread I said this on, but I dropped mine from 6-7 feet when I was stepping over a chair right onto the bottom corner, and it was fine. Restarted, but that was it. Made me feel alot better about how light it is.

We are a club of great APV owners. Glad to be a part of the club with ya!

Vaping on my Stillare 28 ga dual coil at 1 ohm at 40 watts.

Dripping BLISS ;)

Banana split and Peanut Butter Cup are my favorites. 3mg nic
Ya i really like the IPV2 owners threads, besides a few mishaps its been a great thread for our little club. I've been looking at buying the stillare, how is it, is the airflow good? That's more for vapor production than flavor right? I want to buy one that has enough airflow to handle higher wattage, just to try it out.

I just got a magma for flavor, thinking about getting one designed for clouds, do some experimenting with different resistances and wattages on the IPv 2.

By the way, my black one just got here from elev8. At least if I do drop one off a chair and it breaks, I'll have a backup.

Edit: Not sure if its a firmware change, but my black one starts at 50 watts and says check atomizer when nothings attached, silver one starts at 15 and makes a clicking noise when fired with nothing attached
