I've read rumors that state a firmware update should be available tomorrow.Any news on the firmware update for the ipv4? I am toying with the idea of picking one up next weekend. It's between that and the EvicVT. Any feedback on either device is welcome.
What was?It was available 2 months ago/2 days ago/today.
What was?
Ditto. Confused at best
I am asking about the firmware that will give presets in Temp mode and possibly the titanium wire upgrade. Not the one that the units shipped with for temp control.
Just got this response from Denny:
"Hi friends
I have upgrade my old ipv4 sample by the new software, can not use, I have called YiHi Engineer, they are modifying it,
I will upload it or send it to you by email when they change it well;
Please wait my news, thank you very much"
"Please feed back me for any questions any time"
And I was pointing out that P4U promised the firmware update in question a couple months ago, then two days ago, then today.
Here's the latest from P4U though, I honestly wouldn't even expect the update at all at this rate.
IPV4S 120 watt Box Mod [Black]
An upgraded version of the IPV4, the IPV4S, features adjustable wattage up to 120W as well as temperature control that makes it compatible with nickel and titanium coils.
I just saw this on Vivid
So the firmware is available but not for upgrade?
At some point P4U rapid release without support may catch up with them, this seems slightly shady.
Hi all,
I think my ipv4 has a problem. I am wondering if other people have the same issue. If you do know it also happens to someone else, would you please link me to where the discussion was and if there's any solution?
Anyway, the problem is, when I bought my ipv4, I also bought a pair of brand new Samsung 25Rs to go with it. I left them in the mod which was turned off, and I haven't used it for a few days. After that I turned the mod on, and it displayed "low battery". One of the batteries was still over 4v but the other one was completely dead.
I thought one of the Samsung batteries was bad, so I used another pair of batteries, VCT4s. I left them in the mod for a couple of days, and when I turned the mod back on, one of my VTC4 was dead too. Fool me twice, it can't be the battery problem.
Has this occurred to anyone here before? I just can't imagine the mod is still taxing my batteries when it's turned off. It never happened to any other mods that I have.
Thanks.
Edit: the dead batteries happened on the right slot (the slot that has the positive contact on the top). Also I never used its charging board to charge my batteries.
I emailed Yihi about the update and they replied "we are still waiting on word from our engineers".Apparently the S is using a different chipset.
Now Denny from P4U is claiming that he got the dates wrong and the firmware update for the original IPV4 will be released at the end of the month.
Denny told somebody else "by the end of the month".I emailed Yihi about the update and they replied "we are still waiting on word from our engineers".
It's the charging board shorting out as another said. You either can remove it or insulate it more with either electrical tape. I opted to remove my board and haven't had issues. I did insulate it tape but had a bit of a leak and juice got on the board so i just removed it and taped off the 2 holes to prevent more juice from getting in.Hi all,
