I used to smoke at my computer all the time and it discolored the plastic case, my keyboard and mouse. The screen used to get filthy from the tar and I would really have to scrub it to get it clean.
The only thing that I fear now is using my pass through on the USB port because there have been several occasions where I have had computer generated messages that a surge has been detected on a USB port.
Just to play it safe I now use a portable power supply or a plug in usb power supply for my pass through.
