101vape has the VTR back in stock.

This is awesome! But I got one a penny cheaper :p Innokin iTaste VTR

I have been shopping around online for about a week and this is the best deal I can find!

I did see that both sites have the new fixed connection.

Stainless finish: Available on both sites mentioned.
Camo: only site mentioned with availability is akavapers.0

Anyone got a coupon code for 101vape?? There isn't one for AkaVapers..
I came out of lurker status to make this post ^_^ Thanks in advance for any information!

Happy Vaping

Hello folks.
I've been lurking around for a bit in my attempt to get educated on upgrading from eGo style batts and clearos. Have read a lot of threads on mods. /pheewh!

Seeing as how I'm a simple guy and spend most of my time over on the Natural Tobacco and Really Big RY4 List threads about juices I'm here to say I pulled the trigger today on an iTaste VTR from Vermillion River and told the folks over there.

I did some homework, both in this forum thread and this one, also including battery info by Baditude also on YouTube via GrimmGreen and RiP Tripper.

Either Grimm or RiP showed the value in getting the VTR WITH the 510 connection that rotates so any mod can be turned so the air hole is always up, whether it fits the ring or needs the extension. Vermillion River was nice enough to confirm their VTR 510 wheel turns. I found one at 101Vapes that was 20 bucks cheaper but the 510 wheel did not turn (that's a recent upgrade? to the VTR from Innokin)

So I pulled the trigger @ Vermillion River:

and found a recommended charger:XTAR SP2 @ Amazon

Oh, yeah I ordered batteries too

I am subscribed here and will wander about occasionally and offer new things I've discovered and more probably questions I need answers to.

I plan on having a good time with the upgrade and appreciate all your helpful discussions.

You do realize that the Innokin change to a stationary 510 connection instead of a spinning wheel 510 connection was a fix, don't you? If not, you definitely need to read my post #514 at: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ussion/480134-itaste-vtr-13.html#post12192511 and onwards ASAP.

Seems I didn't dig far enough? Maybe, maybe not. Can't roll back the shopping cart now. I'll just have to run the mileage up on it in a hurry to see if that problem comes to the front.

Maybe inside the warranty window. Otherwise, solving problems is part of my skill set.

I admire your spirit, but if you haven't received it yet, I would seriously consider contacting the seller and cancelling the order, refusing delivery at the Post Office so you don't get charged to return it, and requesting one with the stationary wheel. I've read too many sad stories of brokenhearted VTR vapers (Hi, TRoxx!) to consider otherwise. Best of luck.

Well, thank you, too, for letting me know that my little "message in a bottle" thrown out into the sea of cyberspace has been read and appreciated by just the right person! :toast: I'm enjoying some Pear e-juice from MBV on my VTR as we speak. As someone has already said before (though whom I cannot remember) "this thread rocks!"

Been playing with the new VTR...couple of issues...with an iclear30 screwing directly into the base gives a crazy ohm reading, like 5.5 or non. With the extension I get 2.2...about what it should be. The rest of my tanks work fine....could it be the tank has a short 510 or the pin in the vtr is short?

Im on my second one. First one I dropped with the tank hitting first and the threads stripped out over the following week.

I rawlered the ring on the first VTR to fit the 30b tanks and it came out pretty good. I rawlered the ring on the second VTR, but didnt do as good a job so I circumcised it. The B&M I bought them from is getting the fixed wheel VTR next week as well as the X.I tanks so the circumcised VTR will be my home rig and the fixed wheel will be my out and about rig using the X.I tanks. My B&M is 99% sure the 30b and the X.I use the same replacement coils so we will see on that.

ETA: Im happier with the ring cut off over the crappy rawler job I did.

The fact that it works fine with the extension suggests that it's not the VTR, but probably the tank. Try using a few different tanks on it, directly into the recessed tank slot and not with the adapter "cone". I use a Protank 2 exclusively on mine without the adapter cone, and although it often reads a few points over the rated resistance of the coil, it is always within normal limits, ie. +/- 0.5 ohms. Often I think it's probably more accurate than the rating of the coil. Also, it is not typically accurate until you fire it once or twice after refilling and get a full cloud of vapor, but then after that, it is always consistent. HTH.

First let me say this thread has answered a lot of questions. I have a new one though. I have the vtr that has the base that does not spin. My question is should it have the 2 air holes? Mine only has the 4 slots. No holes. What will this limit me 2 do?

Hi John - welcome to the thread. I've never heard of a 2nd generation VTR with only air grooves and no air holes, but it may not make much difference. I have never taken mine apart, so I can't say if the air holes lead anywhere or not. The grooves may be sufficient. Frankly, I've used that term to describe them because that's how they were described in a YouTube video I saw. They may not even be air holes. I do know that using a Kanger airflow control valve when using a Kanger Protank 2, or a Kanger Aerotank, helps tremendously. But then you may be using a different tank. You may want to experiment with different tanks. Did you see the photos of my VTR's base? http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ussion/480134-itaste-vtr-13.html#post12193441 Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Here is a pic of my base. It does not spin and I'm not having any messed up readings. Just no holes.

I have a newer vtr and mine has the 4 notches and the 2 holes one in the front and back notches. All I know is I can't use my protank 3 without an aerotank base on it. Thankfully the aerotank is my current favorite tank. The older model I had worked well with every tank but with my newer version certain tanks get zero airflow when screwed all the way down. I thought about filing out the notches a bit but have been happy enough with aerotank that I haven't bothered.
