So who's using J.O.C. in their genny's (i know, i know, sacrilege lol) Im thinking of trying some as i've been getting some blackening in my juices very quickly lately with mesh. That .... (i dont care what anyone says) can not be safe!
I did a few months back. AGA-T2, RSST, and Kraken. Does pretty well as long as you tilt often to help out the vertical wicking.

is there any real different between kohgendo, shiseido, and muji?

kohgendo packaging says it has not been treated by chemicals. is this also true with shiseido and muji? I know muji cotton is grown with pesticides, but this seems difficult to avoid in general with cotton. anyone know if kohgendo and shiseido source their cotton from farms that use pesticides? I'm guessing it's all basically the same cotton -- but each brand has their own mechanical processing. hence the different sizes, amount seed/husk present in the cotton, and thickness.

The only one that claims it is not grown with or treated with chems is KGD. That's why I use it exclusively. Here, from their website:

I'm partial to organic Labo Japanese cotton pads. I prefer them to KGD. Have a big bag/box of each and I like the flavor and consistency of Labo better.... But they're practically identical so it's likely just my mind lol.

i know what you mean about juice darkening with mesh and gennys and that's really why i switched to a kayfun when they came out. not that i didn't love me gennys, in fact i still have one set up now but i hate that half way thru my tank, the juice starts to taste kind of cruddy. now maybe with these new gennys its different but with mine, no matter what i do, the juice still gets dark. if it weren't for that, i much prefer a mesh or porous ceramic genny.

I found the amazon selena to be a disaster, it is compressed to paper towel consistence. There is no cottony consistency left. Wasted a good two weeks trying to get it to wok. There are other brands that work like CS-being. Finding that change my whole rebuild able experience in such a positive way, I don't think I've had a bad build with the stuff. That along with a master coil builder on ebay and my KFL & dripper builds are just plain easy. I still use the VTR at work because of the form factor but th right cotton pad make rebuildables easy peasy. With the cs-being pads I am tempted to buy a pack of KGD to compare but I think I'll just stick with what work so sell.

which selena product are you referring to? selena seems to make a few cotton products including the labo that seems to be on par with KGD.

does the packaging look like this:

These are the ones I have and they are amazing. Haven't tried KGD but I can't see how they would be much better.

I'm a big fan too, but haven't tried any other yet. So, KGD has seeds in it to deal with too, right?

The seeds aren't and though pesky can be removed if they're that big. I'm flavor sensitive and not an issue. Perhaps some perceive something significant. Not impossible I suppose. Trying to understand the concern. I haven't seen a "seed" thread on JC. Is it the potential for concentration of toxins or pollutants in the seeds?

Anyway, check your pm's.

Good luck.

:)

Wow, the difference between this stuff and cvs brand rolled cotton is night and day. I don't taste anything with the japanese cotton that I picked up from my local vape shop. Other than my e-juice that is.

I had my doubts at first since they packed in too much in the wick that they made me and was dry hitting too often. Just redid my own coil, was disappointed with the cvs cotton. Tried the cotton that they gave me but pulled the pad in half and its perfect.
